Chapter 115: Is the mall still open?

Ash looked down at the man’s bleeding and battered corpse. Nudging him with his foot he frowned.

"Now I have to clean up your mess." Ash rolled his eyes and sneered in disgust.

Pulling out his phone he calls Gabriel.

"What?" Gabriel answers.

"What’s the cleanup crews’ number?" Ash asked.

"Why?" Gabriel asked annoyed.

"Because I need their number, don’t argue with me, just text me the damn number." Ash hung up the phone before Gabriel could say anything else.

A second later a text arrived with number for their cleanup service.

"The Overkill Cleaning Kings?" A woman answered.

"I need a cleanup service at Harvey Park’s baseball field."

"Was there an audience?" The woman asked. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

"No." Ash answered.

"Your service request has been received, and a crew member will be there shortly. Thank you for your business. Will that be cash or card?" the woman asked.

"A tab, Drakarys. Asher Drakarys." He clarifies.

"Understood my dark prince." The woman said before hanging up the phone.

In minutes two identical men and a pig stepped through a portal that appeared out of thin air.

"Hello Prince Asher, we will take over from here." The two identical men spoke in unison.

"What’s with the pig?" Ash asked gesturing towards the enormous black pig.

"He is for body disposal, our prince." The replied again in unison.

Ash nodded seeming to understand. Pigs eat everything right? And well that was a monstrous looking black pig.

"Last question, do you always do that? You know, reply in unison." Ash raised an eyebrow with genuine curiosity.

"Yes." They both replied.

"Well then... I’ll leave you to it." Ash shrugged not wanting to waste any more time here, he was sure his little pink princess was worried about him. He also needed to check on the situation back at the mall. With 15 missed calls from Violet, she was probably mad. And ever since her pregnancy, she’d grown a temper. Ash was definitely not wanting to tempt fate and risk his future wife’s wrath.

He ran back, making it 5 miles in 2 minutes. When he arrived back at the mall there were sirens blaring and lights flashing brightly, they had the building surrounded and people standing outside and inside.

When he arrived on the scene everyone quieted and looked toward the tall handsome and dangerous figure that approached them. His aura screamed dark and deadly. His expression alone made onlookers tremble. How could such a handsome man have such an unapproachable and cold feel to him?

But his appearance and demeanor were the east surprising, no it was watching the small frail pink haired pregnant girl that stood up for them in the mall, the sweet and gentle girl that helped relax the victims, running up to the dark mysterious man.

And just when they wondered how they knew each other he scooped her up and landed a passionate kiss while spinning her around.

The dark aura had immediately lifted replaced with something else entirely, not quite approachable, but not as unapproachable as he was, instead it was like he was somewhere in the middle.

A policewoman approached Violet and Ash. It was obvious how nervous she was walking up to them.

Stumbling over her words and fidgeting even. It would have been odd that a police officer would be so afraid of one man. But she heard what this man was capable of, she heard how he lifted the man up by his jaw and then disappeared. It wasn’t confirmed if he was a night citizen or not, so being hesitant was only natural, they were human of course.

"S... ir... we... a... we heard that you were the... a... last person to see him... before he... um... disappeared." She mentions nervously. Her body visibly trembling. Ash could hear the drumming of her heart, pumping blood ferociously through her veins.

He chuckled inwardly watching the police officer show so much fear.

"Yes." He answered pointblank.

"Oh..." She started and began to straighten herself out to look more like the professional behind the badge.

Ash held back a laugh and almost snorted when Violet elbowed him and pushed ’cut it out’ into his mind. When he looked down, he lost his composure the minute he saw her frowned face and furrowed eyebrows, looking like a scorned kitten.

"Ash! This is serious! Stop it!" She yelled at him with a slight pout.

The policewoman was struggling herself. She felt overwhelmed by Violet’s sweet temperament. She couldn’t help but admire the two interacting, how comfortable they looked. How well they complimented each other. The minute she was by his side, Ash looked tamed almost.

"Okay, okay, Violet." He teased with her, his smile lighthearted and easy going. But his expression dropped the minute he looked back at the policewoman.

"Officer... ahh... Warner. Let’s get to the point, shall we." Ash was all business now, the warmth from his eyes gone, replaced by cold indifference. It made the officer shiver.

"I took him and put him somewhere the blast would only hurt him, and I’ve had his remains taken care of." He sounded so disconnected with the idea of basically committing murder. The officer was stunned silent for a moment.

"You murdered him?" She asked quietly, scared of her own words.

"Sure, I guess you could call it that." Ash was nonchalant about killing a man and the officer just couldn’t believe anyone could be so casual about taking a life. Officer Warner fumbled with her handcuffs as she prepared to arrest Ash.

"Don’t bother, I am Prince Asher Drakarys of Vampires, future King of Darkness. When a human threatens a night citizen unprovoked it is with in my right to handle it as I please. It’s in the treaty your world leaders signed. So, I’d mind what you think you can do with those handcuffs and if you’d live long enough to reach my wrists with them."

"My apologies." The Officer Warner bowed her head.

"It’s okay." Violet interrupted placing a hand on Officer Warner’s shoulder. The angst and fear the officer felt before suddenly lifted. The officer looked at Violet in awe.

"What did you do just now?" She asked.

"Nothing special." Violet smiled kindly at the officer Warner.

Arya and Rosa approached now and Arya the ever-curious witch asked the officer the question almost everyone was asking.

"Why did he have a vendetta against vampires?" She said with a gleam in her eyes, one that made Officer Warner uncomfortable.

"Excellent question, miss..." Officer Warner waited for her to answer.

"Arya, just Arya, last name doesn’t matter." She answered.

"Okay then, Miss Arya, the man in question Tyler Jameson, recently lost his wife and son to a vampire attack in the lower-class areas. So, we assume he came here to retaliate." Officer Warner answers.

"So, you mean to tell me, this mother fucker came and attacked a mall full of innocent people to get revenge of some low born vampires? This is a high-end mall; this was the wrong place for that dumb shit." Rosa scoffed crossing her arms, clearly annoyed.

"Yes... This mall is a well-known spot for the night citizens and other supernatural beings." Officer Warner answered Rosa.

"Still stupid in my opinion, I don’t know what he thought he’d get out of it. A blast like that wouldn’t kill us, we’d probably have to swallow the bomb for that to have worked." Rosa retorted.

Arya tilted her head to side slightly and asked. "Can we still shop or are they going to close the mall?"

Everyone just looked at Arya bewildered by her astounding ability to not care she almost died.

"You are incorrigible." Rosa looked at Arya.

"I know." She made a meep sound shrugging shoulders.
