The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 75: the beta crashes the party
Chapter 75: the beta crashes the party
"Wow, I can’t believe we weren’t invited to the part" A strong well-dressed man walked through the front doors.
Snarls erupted in the room.
"Get lost Dog" Lilith said walking from inside the crowd.
"Well, who do we have here?" The man said "I am Atlas, Beta of the CrystalBay pack."
"I don’t care, you’re kind are not welcome here." Lilith seethed with anger, she hated wolves, and only tolerated the ones that were here, because they are with her lovely Violet.
"Your words, they wound me." Beta Atlas teased. "Such a pretty face, but such an ugly mouth."
Lilith flashed her mouth full of sharp teeth and her eyes flashed a violent shade of red.
For a moment a flicker of fear loomed over Beta Alpha’s face. But he quickly composed himself shrugging it off.
Bet Atlas had no idea who he was actually facing off with at this moment. No idea that the woman before him wasn’t just your average devil, she was the Queen of the Damned. A vengeful and angry woman.
Violet comes strolling in with her group of friends to get food and drinks. When she notices the stifling tension in the air.
"What’s going on?" Violet asked confused. Ursula stiffened the moment she entered the room.
"Oh no." She whispered.
Ash knew immediately, what was in the room.
All of the vampires were snarling, but no one made a move against him. he’d broken no rules of the truce, today shifters and other night citizens and even humans, were granted entrance into the manner tonight. So, all they could do was bare their fangs and hiss as a warning.
"Where is my dear bride to be?" Beta Atlas asked.
"Get the fuck out." Ash said stepping forward, standing alongside his grandmother. Ash would break the truce and not care a single bit about what it would do for their world and to Violet’s party. Asher was impulsive when angry, and he was one of the strongest people inside the manor at this moment.
Beta Atlas had a twisted smile appear across his face. He was getting exactly what he’d hope for, setting off Asher the Prince. Baiting him to break the truce.
Violet looked over noticing Ursula keeping her head low, she looked to almost be curling into herself.
Ursula wanted nothing more than to disappear right this second. She hoped Beta Atlas hadn’t noticed her yet. She knew she couldn’t hide her smell completely, but she knew mixed among all the different smells, it should be difficult to pinpoint exactly where she is. As long as she stayed quiet, he wouldn’t find her.
"That’s no way to talk to a guest. I’m surprised such a well-bred man like yourself would be more... hospitable." He mocked Ash.
"Don’t temp my patience, dog, what do you want?" Ash displayed his dominance by standing tall, he was one of the tallest men in the manor right now, giving him a whole 3 inches over him.
Ash was a little leaner than Beta Atlas, but shifters usually had extremely muscular builds.
"I’m just here to present a gift to the birthday girl; as a... gesture of good will." His words slick, laced with lies. "And of course to remind my fiancé of her duties to her pack, and to me."
Beta Atlas waved his fingers, and two members of his entourage moved forward with a beautiful treasure box.
Ash approached first, reaching for the box.
"Ah, ah, ahh" Beta Atlas teased. "It’s a present for Violet the Princess of Vampires, not one of her many boyfriends."
Ash growled a deep primal growl, ready to attack, as were the rest of the vampires. The tensions were so thick you could taste it.
Violet stepped forward anyways, resting a hand on Ash’s shoulder, to reassure him, she trusted him, he could handle this.
"Thank you for thinking of me, even though we have not met." Violet said sweetly.
Beta Atlas passed the gift to her, and held it awkwardly, unsure if she should open now, or wait until later.
"Please do me the honor of opening it now, for me." His voice was smooth, but it didn’t hide his ulterior motives.
"Absolutely" She answered tearing the wrapping paper.
Under the paper she found a small treasure box. Opening it, Violet’s eyes widened when she saw what was inside, it was a stunning moonstone in the shape of a star.
"Beautiful, isn’t it?" Beta Atlas asked. "It’s a stone that represents the very word, beauty. My alpha thought it fitting to gift one to you for your birthday. He’s a very kind alpha is he not."
"Thank you, I truly love this gift, it’s quite incredible really, the colors seem to move when I move the stone, how lovely." Violet said examining the stone. She really did love the stone, but she was feeling conflicted about accepting such an intimate gift from a group of people who definitely couldn’t be considered friends.
"Now where is my darling Ursula? I’m here to bring her home, she has an important date with the alpha and I." Beta Atlas stated.
Ursula knew she couldn’t hide much longer of Atlas would make a scene, making her way through the crowd, she stepped forward.
"Yes, my Beta I am here, let’s go." She said her head hanging low and shuffling her feet. Ursula didn’t want to go back, not with him.
"I’ll text you and I’ll see you at school on Monday." Violet shouted waving by to her friend.
To Asher and Jeremy something felt off about this whole situation.
After the shifters left Ash spoke "Throw that away, I’ll buy you one, I don’t trust anything given by the CrystalBay Pack."
Ash was firm in his command, but Violet felt differently, she liked her present and she liked that Ursula’s new family came all the way here to gift it to her. However, the way Ursula reacted to her Beta’s arrival was unnerving.
"I don’t care Violet, I don’t want another man, especially a shifter, giving gems to my woman, especially one with such significance to them." Ash scowled her.
"Ash are you jealous?" Violet asked raising an eyebrow in almost defiance to him.
"Yes, so Throw. It. Away." Ash was serious and left no room for any negotiation. But Violet was used to his firm and harsh demeanor.
"Okay, okay, I will throw it away. But I want the exact same one Asher Drakarys, making me throw away My birthday present, on my birthday. You better make up for it." Violet teased handing the box with the gem over to Eugene
