The process of eating was slow, but it was enjoyable for both the black blob and for Loki. The black blob enjoyed eating metal while he enjoyed growing stronger, so both Life Ability and the host were happy with the development.

After knowing that there is a way out by working hard for the sect and risking their lives on the battlefield, it doesn’t take him much time and much mental power to find a reason why it is not in the best interest of the sect to end the information embargo.
