THE GOD EATER-Chapter 155: Blame Loki.
Everything became clear when Greg came upon someone who was still alive. Greg said to the struggling woman, "You’re still alive? Of all the people that I expected that from, I didn’t expect it from you. That’s impressive."
He smiled a wide, creepy smile as he said to her, "It seems you were hiding your strength. What a naughty girl."
Then he stomped on her head and crushed it with his foot. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Loki wasn’t the only one who saw this. One of Jane’s partners saw Greg kill the woman. This man then asked Greg, saying, "Didn’t you say that it wasn’t allowed for us to die on our first day?"
In response, Greg’s creepy smile became wider, and he grinned as he said, "I lied."
His answer didn’t satisfy the man at all. So the man said, "Why? We helped you get the airship. We did everything you asked for."
The man’s voice was full of anger as he asked that question. He even overexerted himself because he only had one lung left and had to cough after speaking.
Greg just shrugged and said, "Consider it your bad luck. You didn’t do anything wrong other than witness me using my Life Ability."
Then he pointed at Loki and said, "If you have anyone to blame, blame that ignorant blabber mouth. I might have let all of you go if he hadn’t exposed that my Life Ability was mutated."
After saying this, he threw a firebird at the man. The firebird collided with his head and exploded.
The explosion shattered the man’s head completely. So he slumped to the ground beside Jane, who was missing half of her head and half of her torso.
When he was sure that the man was dead, he turned to Loki and said, "See? I made good on my promise to orchestrate an interesting death for you. Isn’t your death interesting in this way?"
Loki coughed out some of his lungs as he said, "It is boring to be honest. I already considered you a possible danger to my life. If there is anything special about this, it is that I didn’t expect it to happen so soon."
In response, Greg waved his hands in dismissal and said, "Bah. What do you know about art? You’re just an ignorant Noob who got lucky enough to have a mutated Life Ability."
Then he spread his arms wide and said, "How can you look at all of these and not call it interesting? Isn’t this magnificent?"
But Loki didn’t answer his questions. So he shook his head and said, "It is like throwing pearls to a swine. You can’t recognize beauty when it is looking at you right in the face."
Loki was dying. He was sure of this because he noticed that his vision was going black and that he was losing consciousness. He also noticed that he had stopped feeling pain. This was as good a sign as any that his end was near.
But before embracing the sweet release of death, he said to Greg, "Can you at least tell me why Life Abilities should be kept secret? What’s so special about your mutated Life Abilities that you would kill everyone for? I deserve to know."
In response, Greg curled his lips and said, "Why should I tell a dying man anything? Just because you say you deserve it? Fuck you."
Then he raised his hand as he said, "If you come to me in your next life, I might answer that question."
What Loki saw next was a red bird of fire form in his open hands and rushing towards his head. Then his entire world became complete darkness.
As Loki’s consciousness was liberated from his body and carried away by Fenrir, he roared inwardly, saying, "Damn you, Greg. Damn you, forever and ever and ever and ever and ever..."
Even as his consciousness rode the river of time upstream into the past, he continued to curse Greg. But after a while, his great anger petered out. He calmed down and began to think about things logically.
His thoughts were so logical that what he thought of Greg’s actions became the complete opposite. In fact, if he had hands in this form, he would clap them.
He said in admiration, "So that’s how he has been keeping information about his Life Ability a secret. That’s why those enemies of his were caught off guard despite hating him so much. It is a result of the fact that everyone who has ever seen his Life Ability has been killed."
"That is impressive. But why, though?"
He chuckled inwardly as he said, "With so much dedication to secrecy, one might think his Life Ability is related to a Divine Metac. Or Greg is just plain crazy. Who knows?"
After chuckling for a while, he became serious and said, "I feel like I am missing important information by not knowing why he needs to go to such an extent for his Life Ability. So I must find out this timeline."
He thought about some more important things, of which the bets he had his mind on the betting platform of the sect token were one of the things he spent most of his mental power on.
He reviewed the things he saw on the betting platform and used the conclusions of his review to plan for this timeline. It is something he has to do now that all of the gambling information he knows is obsolete because it is for a time that is one year into the future.
He was thinking about this as he opened his eyes in the awakening room. His aura of a rank 3 cultivator bellowed out of his body as if to announce his presence to the world. This startled everyone around him.
Muni recognized his aura and was surprised to see it appear in a place like this. After coming to a conclusion about why an initiate would have rank 3 cultivation, he decided to walk up to Loki to welcome him and be respectful.
