Chapter 184: No Threat.

He wanted to threaten Loki, but Loki interupted him by sneering and saying, "Or you will what? What else can you do? Will you overload the reactor in the suit and commit suicide in hopes of taking me down with you? Trust me, I can take it."

His words choked Greg up. When he could speak again, he said, "Fuck you!"

The truth was that he contemplated committing suicide and had tried to use the possibility to threaten Loki. But now that Loki had guessed his last card and had assured him that he could handle the explosion of the reactor, Greg felt that he couldn’t use this threat anymore.

The problem was that he didn’t have anything else to use. Without the threat of suicide, there was nothing else that he could use to threaten Loki and make Loki stop trying to kill him.

So after racking his brain and failing to come up with something to do, he said to Loki, "Fine. Fine, you win."

Then he turned around to escape.

The mech flew through the air at the top speed as if it was being pursued, which it was. Loki still refused to give up just because his enemy had given up.

Unfortunately, Loki wasn’t fast enough to catch up to Greg. This was because the giant silver mech had lost a lot of mass during the fight in the form of grenades, missiles, spears, rocket fuel for the thrusters, a shield, an arm, and a portion of its body, so it was lighter now.

The thruster was still intact and at full power. So the mech was able to reach higher speeds than it could at the start of the fight.

However, this much speed wasn’t enough for Greg to stop doing something like taking his airship and driving it away. Not only was it possible for Loki to catch up to him while he was busying getting out of his mech and trying to make the airship escape, but it was also possible that the airship wasn’t faster than Loki, so Loki could catch up to him on the airship even if he managed to get it moving early.

All of these meant that he had to leave his precious airship behind. This was the most painful blow that had been dealt to him since the fight started, so his heart ached as he rushed past the airship.

As he ran away, he said to Loki, "I will be back for my airship."

In response, Loki laughed and said, "I will be waiting."

This time, his laughter was sincere. He didn’t get to kill Greg yet, but the thought of how Greg had threatened to kill everyone on the small dirigible to get the airship and how Greg had spent a lot of money to upgrade the airship made him feel joy from the bottom of his heart.

He laughed boisterously as he went to the airship and drove it to land. Then he switched it off and took the keys.

This was a bad idea since he wouldn’t be able to use the airship to escape in case of emergencies. If strong enemies suddenly attack now, not only would he not be able to use the cannons on the ship to deter their enemies, but if he wanted to escape, he would need to switch on the airship first, let it slowly gain altitude, and then let it slowly pick up speed.

These were the reasons why Greg left the airship running earlier. But even that wasn’t enough to help Greg escape with the airship. So Loki didn’t think he was risking too much to ensure that no one would be able to take the airship away while he was busy with other things.

After he took the key, he let the Shifting Armor absorb it from his palm and keep it safe somewhere on his body.

As he watched the key disappear, he said, "The acceleration is slow, but its stop speed is beyond the speed of sound. I have to thank Greg for upgrading the ship to this extent."

The ship’s slow acceleration is a problem that he can’t complain about because if the acceleration had been fast, Greg might have been willing to risk taking the airship.

It was the fact that the ship would take too long to reach its top speed that finally convinced Greg not to take the risk and allowed the airship to fall into his hands. So he couldn’t complain about it at all.

When he thought of how distraught Greg was about this loss, he laughed again. Then he rose into the air to overlook the battlefield.

He saw that the fighting had stopped. This didn’t surprise him because the people he came with were too busy running for their lives to attack the city.

So he shouted to them, saying, "He is gone now. Let’s get to work."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they heard this. It felt as if a great weight had been lifted off their shoulders.

Usually, it is not a good thing to have someone as strong as Loki around. But things were different this time because Greg was no longer around them.

They felt that no matter how bad Loki was, he couldn’t be as bad as Greg, which was why they were so relieved. And from what they knew about Loki, he was most likely to be unproblematic since he liked to stay indoors all the time.

This development made everyone left in the Four Direction Sect happy. Even those who had lost their interest in attacking the city became enthusiastic again, now that they didn’t have to watch out for their superior attacking them from behind.

Of course, this development was bad for the warriors of the Martial Body Sect.

The warriors had relaxed after their enemies began fighting among themselves and killing each other. As they watched Loki and Greg duke it out, they hoped that both of them would kill each other.
