THE GOD EATER-Chapter 222: A Thorough Beatdown.
So Skarg knew exactly who to look for. Unfortunately, he didn’t know where to look for them.
No one knew where Loki had gone, as the only person who might tell them was dead. This made many of the people looking for Loki give up. After all, to look for someone in the whole Central Domain at random was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
The fact that they weren’t sure if Loki was a reincarnation of a rank 5 cultivator made many more people give up on the search. After all, they couldn’t be sure if he was a rank 2 or rank 4 cultivator from the testimonies of the ignorant initiates. The initiates only knew that he was more powerful than they.
Only a few of them thought that Loki was as powerful as Muni, which was why some of them continued to search. Skarg was one of these people who refused to give up.
Skarg was unwilling to give up because he didn’t want Loki to return for revenge and because he was hoping that Loki was a reincarnation of a rank 5 cultivator.
The time that he spent under the oppression of the five rank 5 cultivators has increased his motivation to advance to rank 5, so he refused to give up.
The time he spent with those five rank 5 cultivators also gave him an idea of how to find Loki. He decided to use a blood link to find Loki.
Since all of Loki’s family members were dead, he could only use their corpses to find Loki. So he traveled to his farm to get the corpses.
What he found when he got to his farm was a scene of devastation. Gone was his farm. Everywhere he looked, there was only black soot and ash.
This sight caused his lips to tremble in anger. He said, "I thought it would be bad, but I didn’t expect that it would be so bad. Who would do this?"
He had heard that someone set fire to his farm five months ago, but he had been too busy dealing with the matter of Slav’s awakening to be bothered with it.
It wasn’t until he gazed on the result of the fire that he realized the extent of the damage. From what he could see, more than 90% of the fields and 70% of the farm buildings had burned to the ground.
Still, he didn’t dwell on this for too long because he came here for more important business. So he said to his subordinates, "Lead me to the mass graves. I am looking for the one where you buried the bodies of Loki’s two sisters."
His son, Serge, knew where the corpses were buried, so he smiled and said, "Fortunately, there was something left to bury."
Skarg nodded in agreement as he said, "We are truly fortunate. As long as we get that corpse, we will be able to find him. We might even be able to curse him to death."
At this point, he clenched his fist with excitement and said, "If we can force him, we can get the secrets to rank 5. Then rank 5 won’t be so far away."
He was full of anticipation for the future as he was led to the mass graves. So his mood crashed down when they reached the mass graves and found that they had been demolished by the fire.
Most of the corpses had been burned to ashes. All that was left were fragments of bones that were indistinguishable from one another.
This time, the sight of this devastation angered him to the extent that he grit his teeth. He was gritting his teeth just to prevent an involuntary outburst of anger.
His fists were still clenching, but it was now done in anger, not excitement. Everything about him was radiating anger.
Eventually, he couldn’t handle the anger anymore. So he walked over to a slave and punched the slave in the face.
The slave fell to the ground pleading for forgiveness, but Skarg didn’t listen. He bent over the slave, punching the slave in the face again and again.
Everyone else became silent. Only the cries of the slave and the sound of Skarg’s fist smacking against flesh could be heard.
This continued for a long time until the cries of the slave became faint. But Skarg still didn’t stop. His fists pounded on the Slav’s face as it cracked and bled.
The slave was quickly disfigured, but Skarg didn’t stop until he cracked the skull open. It wasn’t until the slave had stopped breathing that he calmed down.
He sat there on the slave, inhaling and exhaling, breathing heavily. This was what he did for a few seconds while the other slaves were on their knees with their heads to the ground, quaking in fear. Meanwhile, the slave beneath him continued to leak blood.
He glanced at the other slaves for a while and contemplated punishing them for letting his farm burn. But he had lost interest in venting, so he let them live.
Then he stood up from the dead slave and said to his son, "Let’s go and find the things that used to belong to Loki. He should have clothes here somewhere."
Loki did have clothes on the farm that could be used to curse or find him. Unfortunately for Skarg, these two had been caught in the fire. The building where the clothes of the slaves were stored was ravaged by fire. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
This was because the building was made of wood. The building was actually a shed of some sort.
The failure of this option led to the death of another slave. Skarg beat the slave to death again. But this time, he didn’t punch the slave to death.
He decided to be more creative this time around. What he did was to break every bone and appendage in the body of the slave with a club. This helped him vent while preserving his hands, so it was a win-win for him.
