Alderic, the short elder, forcefully threw the captain into a nearby chair and conjured a massive earth element hand to wrap around him, imprisoning him in the seat.

Once he was seated on his counter, Alderic could no longer maintain his facade again as blood spouted from his mouth, staining his shining armor, which was already transforming back into its tattoo form.

"That bastard Terran, I had to pretend to be strong, but he still wanted to expose me. I’ll deal with him later. Unlike this captain, he’s a tough nut to crack." Alderic muttered

Alderic began rummaging through the location where the pills were stored, desperately searching for the specific one he needed he had saved, Unfortunately, he couldn’t find it.

Coughing up more blood he noticed that his blood was turning black , it was at this, moment Alderic realized he had been poisoned, an he needed that pill more than ever.

Someone had moved the pill he was looking for, but he couldn’t afford to wait any longer or the poison would spread throughout his body.

During the fight, Alderic had been able to intimidate Grimgore as usual.

However, he hadn’t noticed his lackadaisical attitude had led him to forget that Grimgore always tried to escape when things didn’t go as planned.

Alderic had believed he had been putting on a strong front due to the presence of the Orcs he commanded, but he finally realized that the plan had been to poison him all along, after the deed had be done and that was like way too late.

He had fallen right into Grimgore’s trap, and now he had to take that pill that was an antidote for poison.

Alderic quickly performed a series of hand signs, hitting his chest and sealing some of his Mana Veins, and Mana Pool.

This move limited his ability to use his full power, Mana control and his body natural defense himself, but he had no other choice.

If he didn’t prevent the poison from spreading, it would spread all over his body fast and he would have to died to such a cheap tactics.

His current mission was to find a Chimera Tail and extract the poison from the snake tail, using it to create an antidote pill.

Additionally, he needed to discover who had stolen the emergency pill he had left behind in the first place.

However, locating a Chimera was no easy task, as they were masters of hiding, with only the strongest of them revealing themselves openly.

But Alderic was in no position to even confront the ones that showed off as they were just short of being Overlords themselves.

With all this happening, it just made Alderic realized that whoever took his pill was aware that he would be poisoned, yet they proceeded anyway.

"I see we have a traitor among us," Alderic murmured weakly as he slumped into his chair, his body growing weaker by the minute.

A mage entered the meeting of the elders and the Dean to relay important information, He knelt on one knee as he delivered his message.

"The Gatekeepers of the Orc villages’ passage have asked me to relay this message, The space gate is turning back to blue, which means the space lock has been broken, and we should soon be able to send mages in soon," the mage said.

However, as soon as he finished speaking, Gideon slammed his hand down on the chair in frustration, completely destroying the arm supporting the chair.

"You better control yourself, Elder Gideon. This is a respectable meeting," the Dean reprimanded.

"I apologize, Dean," Gideon replied through gritted teeth, still not accustomed to answering to the new Dean.

While he was lost in thought, there was someone who was reveling in the predicament Gideon found himself in.

That someone was Ignatius, He had been the reason Gideon made that bet, although it would not affect the faction’s foundation.

But still, Ignatius was pleased that he could use it to extort out of what the factions had embezzled from the academy back into the development of the academy’s city.

"It has been decided, then, We will assemble every Tier 7 Mage on the ground here, and we will choose those who will go into the space passage to stabilize the situation," the Dean announced.

"And for any damages or compensation, they will be directed to our esteemed Elder and great instructor, Gideon," the Dean concluded, making Gideon feel as if he had been played.

But Gideon knew that the situation he found himself in was a result of his own arrogance and nothing else.

" now that is all, meeting suspended! " the Dean said as he flew away to settle the matters of the Abyss.

"Make sure you are among the chosen Tier 7 mages to enter the Orc village’s space passage. And once you are there, get me all the information about what happened in the Abyss and how they were able to defend the city," Gideon said, grabbing one of the junior Tier 7 members of the faction the moment he was sure the Dean was gone.

"Hey, Gideon, what are you talking about?, We can’t go after those who have made the academy proud and defended the city against the Abyss force when we thought all hope was lost," the Tier 8 mage beside Gideon whispered in a low voice, mindful of the other elders present as he used his mental energy to create a mental shield so what ever they said would be safe from other ears.

"Well, someone has to be held accountable, If I can’t punish them, then find the cause and point me to someone I can hold responsible, Do you understand?"

Gideon demanded, his voice filled with anger, as the frightened Tier 7 mage nodded in agreement.

"Good!" Gideon replied, pushing the mage out of his way before storming out of the meeting hall.

And Many other mages witnessed his behaviour, but they chose to stay away, sensing the warning in his expression that seemed to say, "Don’t you dare come close."

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Alec was returning to the city with a large sack of loot strapped onto the backs of all his golems.

The guards atop the city gates regarded him with curiosity, wondering how anyone could be so nonchalant when the human city had almost been overrun.

However, upon seeing his golems, they quickly remembered who he was "Alec, the Abyss Troublemaker,", as they noticed the huge bags carried by each of his golems.

It only served to further solidify his reputation as a troublemaker for the Abyss.

"Open the gates for the Abyss Troublemaker!" a Tier 4 guard clad in black armor exclaimed with delight from atop the wall, before hastily descending down the city gates to catch a glimpse of Alec come in the city.

Most of the guards held Alec in high regard, as they were unable to venture into the region to hunt and reduce the numbers of potential attackers on the city.

Their duty was solely to defend, and thus they respected and looked up to anyone brave enough to face the dangers of the Abyss.

And at this moment, Alec had become their new idol since every time he appeared, a significant number of creatures from the second dimension would inevitably meet their demise, either directly or indirectly involving him.
