After Edward helped Alec change his badge, he headed towards the staircase.

As he began to climb, he felt a strange repulsive force trying to push him off at the first step, however, as it enveloped him, it vanished as quickly as a lie, Looking down, Alec noticed that his new emerald badge was emitting a bright light.

Realizing that his identification was essential to access the upper floors, Alec pondered that only those with a commander rank or higher could enter the second floor.

Determined, he continued to ascend the stairs, upon reaching the top, he found himself in a completely different space.

Alec had suspected that the Dean's collection might be located elsewhere, not just under the statue in the front yard.

He believed that the sculpture was merely a gateway to the Dean's true collection.

Delving deeper into his theories, Alec believed that the first and second floors were connected only through magic, and not physically in the same location.

As the second floor's vastness further supported his belief, as it far exceeded the size of the stone room on the ground floor.

On the first floor, things were different, the magic spells on the second floor were not as abundant as on the first floor, but they all emitted various strong elemental light as they floated in the air.

Alec realized that there were stares directed towards him, and when he looked, he saw the other three commanders: Lucas, Beatrice, and Pale were already in the room, exploring the spells and examining the engraved names on them.

When they realized Alec was the one who entered the second floor, Lucas simply nodded towards Alec before continuing his search.

While Both Pale and Beatrice completely ignored him as if he were invisible, however, Alec noticed something peculiar – they all now had an Emerald student badge with the commander rank on it.

"It seems that every commander student badge changes to emerald," Alec thought to himself as he started walking around, allowing the elements of both earth and fire to guide him towards spells that represented them.

He knew that his affinity to these elements would help him locate there spell books faster.

As Alec explored the spells, he began to realize that each one had strict requirements in order to learn them. Some were linked to gravity, others to fire with some needing a variant flame to cast, and some earth based spell requiring certain attributes or realms to cast.

Feeling overwhelmed, Alec feared he might have a hard time finding a spell that resonated with him.

He noticed Pale had already chosen a spell, as he was reaching out towards one spell tome that emitted an icy aura covering him, and just while he was feeling he wasn't the only one still clueless on what spell to choose

He saw even Beatrice who looked clueless earlier now smiling widely as she selected a black-hued scroll.

Feeling a sense of uncertainty, Alec couldn't help but turn to Lucas, only to find him also stretching his hands towards a spell tome surrounded by sword Qi.

When Lucas touched the scroll, it seemed to attempt to cut him with the sword Qi revolving around it, but Lucas just closed his eyes and allowed the Qi cuts his hand, as he absorbed the knowledge of the spell.

Left alone with no idea of which spell to choose, Alec decided to explore till he found one.

He knew he was a low-tier Mage and might not be able to cast any mid-tier spell he found without a Tier 4 realm or above.

However, he was curious to witness how exactly Mid Tier spells were transmitted in to a mage's mind, considering their rarity and exclusivity, that's makes it hard to get them if you are not in a clan or an organisation either bad or good.

As Alec wandered, he began to feel a pull towards three spell tomes.

That he closer he got, the more the earth and fire elements particles around his body stirred.

Among the tomes were a Mid Tier earth spell, a Mid Tier fire spell, and the third book was titled "Cultivation of Killing Intent and Bloodlust."

Although it was not a magical spell, its power was rated as mid-tier in terms of damage, explaining its placement on the second floor.

Just as Alec was about to make his selection, he noticed another spell tome behind them.

It did not emit any light or force; it just simply levitated towards Alec.

The name appeared to be scratched off, intriguing Alec more.

Ignoring the three spells before him, he reached out towards the mysterious black spell book.

Feeling an urge deep within him, compelling him towards the black spell tome, Alec decided to take a chance on it.

With little hope of learning a Mid Tier spell, in the first place he decided to take his chances, as he touched the spell book with his fingers.

Instantly, a shock ran through his body, causing his mana veins through out his body to dry out as the book began to drain his mana.

Just when Alec thought he would be sucked dry, he was surprised when the consumption stopped abruptly, leaving him with only one thousand Mana remaining on his status interface.

Before Alec could fully comprehend what had happened, he was overcome with a strong urge to sleep, and he fell unconscious while still standing.

As his eyes closed, Alec entered an enlightened state to receive the Mid Tier Spell he had selected.

Elsewhere, Edward Wolf watched Alec from a dark room, observing a water screen displaying the events on the second floor.

"How is he able to pass the Mana test of a Mid Tier spell, and not just any Mid-tier spell, but the one that no Mage have been able to conquer while they were still in the Tier 4 Mage realm" a woman with a scar running down her left face asked Edward.

He simply shook his head, unable to grasp the situation himself.

"He possesses a much higher mana capacity than mages in his realm, almost rivalling that of a high Tier 4 mage in mana accumulation That's why he was able to withstand the spell even after nearly being drained dry by the spell book, and that's why he could face Tier 4 mages while still Being a low rank mages " the new Dean explained.

The new Dean appeared, casting an unfriendly gaze at Edward.

"I can't believe you allowed him to attempt Mid Tier spells without warning him, are you trying to get him killed?"

"Relax, Dean, If Terran's new favourite mage could be killed so easily, the faction would have taken him out long ago. I'm simply testing his resilience," Edward replied with a serious expression.

"Well, I hope you're prepared for the consequences when your brother finds out you tried to kill his disciple just to test his resilience,"

The Dean retorted before fading back into the darkness.

While Edward Wolf sneered at the mention of Terran's name.
