Chapter 108: 108:Time For Some Torture

Cedric stumbled back in shock as his breath ragged, his face drained of color. He hadn’t even finished the ritual, yet Kael stood there, grinning like a beast that had already sunk its teeth in. His presence alone made the air feel suffocating.

"You..."

"Why are you here?"

"Just for fun," Kael smirked.

"No, how did you come here?"

"You shouldn’t be here. Did the guards not stop you."

"Them...I just got rid of them," Kael laughed, making a cutthroat sign.

Cedric stammered, his fingers twitching toward the ritual.

The black symbols pulsed, feeding on his fear.

Kael tilted his head, cracking his neck with a slow, deliberate motion. "Oh? And what, you thought some shitty little curse was gonna take me out? Please, I’ve taken dumps scarier than this." He took a step forward, dragging his foot across the cursed symbols, smearing them like dirt under his boot.

Cedric’s eyes burned with desperation. He bit his finger, smearing his blood onto his forearm. The serpent tattoo on his skin glowed, writhing like it was alive.

The air grew thick with a dark presence as black tendrils rose from the ground, hissing and snapping like wild beasts. "You talk too much," Cedric spat, his voice laced with unnatural echoes. "Die."

Cedric who tried to attack slipped slamming his face on the ground.

Kael’s grin only widened. "Oh? You wanna play with magic? Cute." Without hesitation, he lunged.

The black tendrils shot toward him, aiming to pierce his body, but Kael didn’t dodge—he ripped through them with his bare hands, his fingers crushing the shadowy mass like wet paper.

Cedric barely had time to react before Kael closed the distance, grabbing him by the throat and slamming him against the wall hard enough to crack the stone.

"You think some third-rate black magic makes you strong?" Kael growled, his fingers tightening. "Serpent Fangs, huh? You little rats always crawl out of the gutters thinking you’re something special." He slammed Cedric down again, making him cough up blood. "News flash, you are an idiot."

Cedric screamed as more dark energy surged through him, the serpent tattoo expanding, wrapping around his entire arm. He sent a wave of cursed fire toward Kael, but Kael just laughed, walking through it like it was a warm breeze.

"Pathetic," Kael sneered. "You can’t even control it properly. You’re just another loser playing with things you don’t understand."

With a sickening crunch, Kael drove his fist into Cedric’s gut, making him wheeze and collapse to his knees. The serpent tattoo flickered, its glow fading. Kael grabbed Cedric’s face, forcing him to look up. "You should be grateful I’m not killing you. Yet."

His voice was low, dripping with amusement. "But don’t worry—I’ll make sure you wish I did."

He let go, and Cedric crumpled to the ground, gasping for air. Kael dusted himself off and smirked. "You tried to curse me? Cute. Next time, try something actually scary."

"Now its time for some sweet screams.

......

The room reeked of blood and sweat. Cedric’s body convulsed on the cold stone floor, his face unrecognizable—swollen, bruised, and slashed open from Kael’s relentless assault. He gasped, barely able to breathe, his body twitching with each agonizing second.

Kael crouched beside him, his grip like a steel vice as he yanked Cedric’s chin up. Their eyes met—one filled with sheer terror, the other burning with pure, unfiltered rage.

"Listen here, you little son of a bitch," Kael hissed, his voice low and deadly. "I don’t like to fuck around. No, I don’t even have time to waste." His fingers dug into Cedric’s jaw, forcing his mouth open. "So tell me just what the fuck is going on, or else I’m gonna give you such a brutal death that even the world might tremble in shambles!"

Cedric whimpered, his bloodshot eyes darting around for an escape—any escape. But there was none.

"DOOOOO YOUUU HEAR MEEEEE?!" Kael’s roar shook the walls, his madness making the very air suffocating.

Cedric, barely able to form words, nodded frantically. But that wasn’t enough. Kael grabbed his hair and yanked it back hard, making him scream in pain. "IS IT ABSOLUTELY CLEARRRRR?!"

"SAYYYYY IT LOUDLYYYY!"

"YESSSS! YESSSSSSSSS!" Cedric howled, his body convulsing, his pants dampening as fear overtook his body.

Kael clicked his tongue in disgust, shoving him back to the floor. "TSKKK!" He wiped his bloodstained hands against Cedric’s already ruined clothes. "Such a grown lad, yet you can’t even control your piss... Che! You should be ashamed of yourself."

A tense silence followed. The thick scent of blood filled the room.

Then—

"What are you doing?!"

Valen’s voice cut through the chaos. He stood in the doorway, eyes wide with shock. Behind him, Gare, Handel, and Vic followed, their faces twisted in horror at the brutal scene before them. The smell of torn flesh, the groans of a half-dead Cedric—it was like walking into the depths of hell itself. ƒrēenovelkiss.com

"Why are you harming Master Cedric?!" Valen snapped, stepping forward, his voice wavering slightly. He moved to defend Cedric, but Kael turned on him in a flash.

"Shut up, dumbass," Kael barked, his voice dripping with scorn. "It’s this pig-headed fucker who’s been doing shaky, quoky things behind our backs."

Before Valen could even respond, Kael turned back to Cedric and delivered another brutal kick to his ribs. A sickening crack echoed through the room, followed by a gurgled scream as Cedric vomited more blood onto the floor.

Handel flinched, his face paling. Vic’s hand twitched toward his sword, but he didn’t dare move. Even Gare who had seen Kael fight before—felt an involuntary shudder crawl up his spine.

’Lord isn’t just a menace for nothing.’Gare shook his head.

The way he smiled, the way he played with Cedric’s broken body like it was nothing but a toy it wasn’t normal. It wasn’t human.

Valen’s fists clenched, his expression unreadable.

He had heard from Gare Kael was ruthless, but this... this was worse than a demon.

And for the first time, a sliver of doubt crept into his mind.
