The Grand Duke's Son Is A Heretic-Chapter 116
Chapter 116: 116
Kassel groaned in pain as he clutched his back, his skin scorched from the intense flames.
Unlike the others who had used mana to shield themselves, he had taken the full impact.
The burns stung like hell, and every movement sent waves of agony through his body. He gritted his teeth, trying to stay conscious, but the pain was unbearable. Some knights had managed to protect themselves, but many lay injured, their skin burned and torn from the earlier explosion. If they didn’t get treated soon, their wounds would leave hideous scars, if not kill them outright.
Heru stood amidst the chaos, his sharp gaze scanning the battlefield. He had no time to worry about the wounded now.
The enemy was still standing, and their monstrous foe was growing more aggressive.
Byk, the massive beast standing before them, threw his head back and let out a deep, guttural laugh. His bloodshot eyes locked onto Heru, filled with murderous rage. It was clear he had realized Heru had foiled his plans of wiping them all out.
Question marks appeared on Heru’s head as he screamed inwardly.
’Damn!Its not me...Its him...’
Here shouted looking at Kael only to find him missing.
The Byk fury was evident, but Heru and Kassel didn’t have time to care. Their auras flared as they charged at him fearlessly, ready to strike.
Their weapons clashed violently against Byk’s sharp claws, sending shockwaves through the battlefield. The ground cracked beneath their feet from the sheer force of their strikes.
The fight was relentless—Byk swung his monstrous arms, aiming to crush them, but Heru and Kassel dodged swiftly, countering with precise attacks.
From behind, knights unleashed arrows and blades, their weapons gleaming in the flickering light. Dust and debris swirled in the air, turning the battlefield into a chaotic storm of destruction.
Standing at a distance, Kael wiped the blood from his lips and cackled like a lunatic. "Shit...That was some epic packed."
His eyes were wild with excitement as he brandished his sword.
"Step back a bit..."
His voice was full of authoritative tone a twisted grin plastered on his face. Kael was covered in cuts and bruises, but he didn’t seem to care. He thrived in battle, and the sight of blood—his or his enemies’—only fueled his madness.
The fight seemed even at first, but Kael was constantly getting slashed and cut by Byk’s relentless attacks. If not for Heru and Kassel’s support, he would’ve been torn apart within minutes.
Byk suddenly roared, spewing a massive fireball from his mouth. The ground erupted in flames as the explosion sent shockwaves through the battlefield. Kael barely had time to react—he covered his face, feeling the heat scorch his exposed skin. "Damn bastard!" he cursed, spitting on the ground.
Heru, quick to respond, summoned three vortexes of tornadoes. The raging winds lifted clouds of dust, surrounding Byk and momentarily blinding him.
It bought them a few precious seconds enough to catch their breath and plan their next move. But Byk wasn’t going to let them off so easily.
He swung his enormous arm, creating a powerful gust of wind that tore through the dust, clearing his vision. His eyes darted around, searching for his enemies, but to his surprise, they had vanished.
Before he could react, a loud crack echoed as Kassel’s hammer slammed into his shoulder. Byk groaned in pain, his massive body forced to its knees.
The attack hadn’t even settled when another crushing blow landed on his kneecap. Kassel wasn’t holding back—his mace smashed against Byk’s legs with brutal force.
The beast howled in pain, but his thick fur made it difficult to find weak spots. Kassel, however, didn’t care—he kept swinging mercilessly, determined to break the beast apart piece by piece.
The other knights saw their chance and charged in. One drove a spear into Byk’s thigh, another slashed at his exposed side. Blood splattered across the battlefield, painting the ground red. Kael, laughing like a madman, sprinted forward.
"You think you’re tough? Try surviving this!" He swung his sword at Byk’s chest, aiming for the neck. The blade carved a deep wound, and blood gushed out. It wasn’t enough to kill him, but it was enough to make him stagger.
Byk roared in agony, his body weakening under the relentless assault. For the first time, the monster looked like he was in real danger. Kael grinned, lifting his sword for the final blow. "And that’s how you—"
But before he could finish, Byk’s body erupted with dark energy. A powerful shield of light surrounded him, his fur turning darker, his aura more menacing. Kael’s sword struck the shield, but instead of slicing through, it screeched against the surface. Sparks flew as his weapon failed to pierce through. "Oh, what the hell is this? You can’t be serious!" Kael growled, stepping back.
Byk’s claws clamped down on Kael’s sword, preventing him from pulling it free. Kael tried to yank it back, but it wouldn’t budge. "Oh, screw this!" he snapped, letting go and retreating instead of wasting time. His frustration boiled over. "So now this freak knows dark magic on top of fire spells? That’s just unfair!" He huffed, glaring at the beast.
"FUCCCK!"
Before he could come up with a plan, Byk slammed his massive fists into the ground. The battlefield trembled violently as cracks spread across the ground. Kael’s footing slipped, and before he could react, the ground beneath him gave way. He tripped, landing hard on his back. "Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me!"
Byk grinned wickedly, lifting his enormous arm and swinging it down toward Kael. The impact was brutal—Kael barely had time to raise his arms before he was sent flying like a ragdoll.
Blood spurted from his mouth as he crashed through trees, his body slamming into one that didn’t break. His head hit the trunk hard, and blood trickled down his face, blurring his vision.
The sounds of battle grew distant. Kael could barely hear the screams and clashes of weapons. His body refused to move. Pain shot through his ribs—some were definitely broken. "Heh... damn, that actually hurt," he muttered, chuckling weakly.
His vision darkened, and for a moment, but he shook his head grabbing the ice to rub it on his face.
His eyes flickered with madness as he pushed himself up. "Guess I’ll have to show that bastard how to really fight."
