The Grand Duke's Son Is A Heretic-Chapter 482
"Nooo!"
Baron Fen screamed in pure panic, his voice breaking, but it was already too late.
Before Silas could even understand what had happened, a thin line appeared across his body. His eyes widened in shock. His mouth opened as if he wanted to say something, but no sound came out. He tried to move, tried to command his body, but nothing responded.
His legs gave out.
As his body fell, it split apart.
Two halves crashed to the ground with a wet, brutal sound.
SPURT!
Blood erupted everywhere. Organs spilled out and slapped against the broken ground, rolling over one another in a horrifying mess. The stench of iron filled the air as the remains finally stopped moving.
Kael landed beside the corpse with a dull thud. He flicked his wrist and swatted his sword lightly, shaking off the blood that clung to the blade. Crimson droplets scattered across the ground.
Baron Fen stared at the scene in horror.
His breathing became ragged. His eyes burned red with rage.
"I will kill you!" he screamed, his voice shaking with hatred.
He charged.
Fen rushed toward Kael like a mad beast, swinging his sword again and again without restraint. Each slash carried killing intent, fast and vicious, cutting through the air with shrill screams.
CLANG! CLANG!
Kael did not step back.
He met every strike calmly, his movements minimal and precise. His sword shifted slightly with each impact, deflecting Fen’s attacks by inches. Sparks flew as steel clashed, and sharp air blades burst outward from the force of their blows, slicing into the ruined surroundings.
Fen attacked faster.
Kael remained unmoved.
The ground beneath their feet cracked deeper with every exchange.
Fen roared and raised his sword overhead, pouring everything into a final heavy strike. Kael’s eyes narrowed. He twisted his wrist sharply, turning his blade sideways and parrying the attack at an angle.
CLANG!
Fen’s sword was knocked aside.
In that same motion, Kael stepped forward.
His blade flashed.
A deep gash opened across Fen’s chest.
Blood burst out violently, spraying across the air as Fen was thrown backward. He slammed into the ground, coughing violently as red soaked his armor.
Kael did not stop.
He closed the distance in two calm steps. Fen barely had time to lift his sword before Kael struck again. A sharp chop shattered Fen’s grip, and the sword flew away, spinning across the ground.
Before Fen could scream, Kael’s blade came down.
One arm was severed cleanly.
"ARGHHHHHHH!"
Fen screamed in agony, clutching the stump as blood poured out. His body trembled violently, and he dropped to one knee, roaring in pain and fury.
Kael stood before him, sword lowered but steady.
Fen panted heavily, sweat and blood running down his face. His eyes were filled with hatred as he glared up.
Kael raised his blade and pointed it at Fen’s neck.
"Any last wish?" Kael asked coldly.
Fen snarled.
Instead of answering, he suddenly lunged forward, teeth bared like a wild animal, trying to bite Kael’s throat.
Kael’s eyes did not change.
His sword moved.
BANG!
The sound echoed sharply.
Blood exploded upward, splashing across Kael’s face and chest. Fen’s body collapsed forward, lifeless.
Kael did not flinch.
He shook his head once, letting the blood drip down, then extended his hand calmly toward the corpse.
[Devour.]
The battlefield around them fell silent.
After killing the two, Kael roared.
"It’s over here. Leave some troops and advance to the next!"
........
Kael’s troops moved without delay. They advanced like a sharp blade, conquering cities one after another. Compared to the main strongholds, the remaining places were small and poorly defended. Most were low-level towns and villages that lacked anyone strong enough to resist.
Once a city was taken, Kael left behind A-rank fighters to hold the ground. Sol, along with the Iron Knights, was responsible for guarding the conquered cities. There was still a risk of traitors hiding among Duke Melvin’s army, so Kael did not take chances.
With the information he had obtained from Brawn, many traps and ambushes were avoided. Several pitfalls that could have caused heavy losses were bypassed entirely.
Kael finally reached the city near the main checkpoint. The moment he arrived, he sensed something was wrong.
Someone was already there.
"Let’s go!" Kael shouted.
He rushed forward without hesitation.
At the entrance, a bloody battle was still raging. Corpses littered the ground, and the smell of blood hung thick in the air. Soldiers were locked in close combat, blades clashing and shields breaking.
"Form up!" Kael commanded loudly.
"Push from the left!"
"Archers, suppress them!"
His voice cut through the chaos. The troops responded instantly, their movements tightening as they followed his orders.
"Reinforcements!" someone shouted in relief.
"Hell yeah!"
"It’s time for you to die!"
"Surrender now!"
Kael’s forces surged into the battlefield, crashing into the enemy lines like a tidal wave. The already exhausted opposing troops were quickly overwhelmed.
BOOOOOOM!
A loud crackling sound echoed across the city.
Kael felt a massive fluctuation of power ripple through the air. His expression changed instantly.
"Someone needs help."
He leaped forward and rushed toward the source.
The moment he reached the area, he froze.
Ahead of him, Melvin was fighting.
Melvin rode atop a massive serpent, its enormous body coiling and twisting through the battlefield. Each movement crushed soldiers beneath its scales. The serpent opened its mouth and released beams of destructive energy, blasting through enemy formations and reducing buildings to rubble.
An S-rank enemy stood before Melvin, fighting desperately while his troops tried to regroup under the serpent’s relentless assault.
Seeing this, Kael snorted.
He reached into his soul space and grabbed the Black Lion. With a sharp motion, he flung it forward.
"LOOK!" Kael shouted.
"Look at it closely with your open eyes!"
"This is how a spiritual beast fights, not like you, bastard!"
"Roarrr!" the Black Lion roared.
The sound was small, almost cute, and it even looked like it was about to cry.
Kael’s face darkened.
"Roar? Is that all you can do?"
He pointed sharply at the serpent dominating the battlefield.
"Aren’t you even ashamed of destroying your own legacy?"
"Even if you aren’t strong, you are a majestic beast. So for god’s sake, at least act like one!"
The Black Lion trembled slightly, its small body shaking as it stared at the massive serpent ahead.
