Chapter 1919: The Art of Commanding

Lu Li immediately distributed the potions and elixirs. The bulk of these elixirs were given to the Tanks. This was because this Instance Dungeon needed four Tanks.

“Boss, this is cheating!” Sky Moon found one of their Tanks and looked at the potions and immediately started to rethink his existence.

Why did he not have these items when he was commander?

“Ask Cold Chill. Do you expect him to just give them to you?” Lu Li responded. “As a successful commander, you not only need to use your existing resources wisely, but you also need to find ways to retrieve more resources.”

Sky Moon originally thought that Lu Li was just acting again, but as he listened, he realised that these were words of wisdom.

He felt that he had learnt new things.

“Now, tell me which aspects of this Boss are more difficult to deal with, and why you guys wiped,” Lu Li said.

Sky Moon explained the Boss’ mechanics and skills while Lu Li already had an idea.

It was similar to what he had experienced in his previous life. However, the greatest difference was that the Boss’ attack and HP was much higher than before. Therefore, the difficulty of this battle was also raised significantly.

Sometimes, Lu Li admired these people very much.

They could kill even Bosses like these. Now, he was about to admire himself. This was because his goal for today was to kill Magtheridon.

The first phase was to kill the Magisters. These Magisters were here to restrain Magtheridon. However, they were not allies – they were Illidan’s servants. Illidan did not want to kill Magtheridon, because he wanted Magtheridon’s blood to create more Fel Orcs.

“Interrupt it. No matter if it’s Shadow Bolt or Dark Mending. Sky Moon, did you not think to interrupt these skills?” Lu Li asked as he looked at Sky Moon.

“I wanted to have more time to DPS, so I only interrupted the healing,” Sky Moon frowned.

“The damage from Shadow Bolt is high, and the healing is also extremely potent at the moment. That’s why we need to sacrifice a little bit of Thief and Mage DPS to interrupt these skills. We need to kill the southern-most Magister. We can only pass if we kill it within one minute. Then, we can kill the next one in the south-west direction.”

Their original tactic was similar to this. Lu Li only made slight changes to the game plan. After the death of the second Magister, Magtheridon was freed. When this happened, Azure Sea Breeze, who was tanking the first Magister would immediately rush forwards to take the Boss and pull it towards the south-west direction, then back himself against the wall.

This was also why Lu Li decided to kill the Magisters in that particular direction first.

This way, Lu Li successfully split the battle into two parts.

In the 40 seconds after Magtheridon gained its freedom, it would use the first ‘Shank’. Shank was a very annoying skill. Healers wouldn’t be able to say the incantations for skills. Thieves were likely to be knocked back and couldn’t interrupt its skills either. It was during this time that Healers would need to use instant-cast spells to heal or use the effects from their items.

Priests were able to bestow a shield for Tanks and the Tanks themselves were able to consume potions by themselves. The potions that Lu Li brought with him would now also be useful.

The interruption of the Boss’ skills needed to be coordinated by the Mages. They would use Counterspell after being knocked back. Whenever Shank was about to be casted, the Mages needed to be wary of their positioning and avoid the fires while being knocked back, otherwise, they would be dealt damage.

This was the most important phase. Although Sky Moon could get past this phase, the price that he had to pay was too great.

Who was left to fight the Boss whose HP seemed to be untouched?

However, under the calm leadership of Lu Li, the team managed to address the small details that Sky Moon had overlooked.

“Flower, do you not know how to dodge the stamp? I’m taking five points away,” Lu Li said heartlessly.

Sky Moon immediately started sweating. When he was commanding, all he dared to do was yell and instruct, instead of being like Lu Li and just taking points away from players. Furthermore, Lu Li took away the points of an elder of the club. Lonesome Flower was someone who had followed Lu Li at the very start. Furthermore, his sister was the top Priest in the club.

If Lonesome Flower was angry at the commander for taking his points away and left Ruling Sword, then Sky Moon would instantly be the nemesis of the guild.

However, to his surprise, Lonesome Flower didn’t even say a single word.

“Breezy, take care of the Boss properly! Make sure that you face the Boss away from us!”

“Cat, do you not know to use Banishment for Infernals? It’s the closest to you! If you don’t use

Banishment, who else do you expect to? I’m taking five points from you.”

It was as if Lu Li had grown many pairs of eyes. Whenever someone made a mistake, even if it was

extremely small, he was able to see them and point it out. Then, he would either scold them or take points away as punishments, depending on the severity of the error.

Lu Li didn’t bother to quieten his voice and continued brainwashing Sky Moon.”

“If you are the commander your eyes must only be on the Boss. You cannot overthink. If you overthink, then you will miss a lot of details. You failed because of these errors.”

“After entering the Instance Dungeon, you need to completely obey the commander, even if they say the wrong things.”

“I know you don’t have the confidence yet. That’s why I’ve given you some time. However, you can’t keep going without confidence. You are now commanding the two-time Champions and a super team that has countless Instance Dungeon First Clears under their belt.”

“We are a top club!”

“Do you understand now?”

“I understand!” Sky Moon responded. Although it sounded simple, it was not as easy as the words made it out to be.

“Okay then. Everyone, stop! We’re going to restart. Sky Moon, you’re going to command this time.”

“Ah…”

Everyone was stunned. They didn’t expect Lu Li to be this straightforward.

There were some people who were still fighting out of habit. However, the players who had followed Lu Li for a while and knew his personality immediately stopped. These people included Azure Sea Breeze and March Rain among others. The others who were still fighting the Boss immediately died. How spoiled!

Not only did he waste time, but he also wasted precious elixirs. If Square Root Three was here, he would have completely gone off at Lu Li until his throat was sore.

However, all of this burden crushed Sky Moon’s heart.

Sky Moon was rendered mute for a while. It was as if his throat was blocked by something and nothing could come out.

He often thought about the potential that Lu Li saw in him. What did he see? No matter how much potential he had, there was no way that he was able to compare to Lu Li himself. Lu Li was the person who brought Ruling Sword to take down 90% of the First Clears.

Furthermore, Ruling Sword under his leadership also wasn’t any worse than the other clubs in Wild Boss Battles and Stronghold Battles as well.

With a commander like this, what was the point of nurturing another? Wandering was also someone who was highly capable and Sky Moon had learnt lots from him.

However, he didn’t know what burden Lu Li bore himself.

No one knew. Everyone thought that he was doing this out of a long-term benefit for the club. Nurturing another commander would naturally be beneficial for the club. However, they just didn’t understand why Lu Li wanted to push Sky Moon to develop as an Instance Dungeon commander.

Azure Sea Breeze thought that Lu Li wanted to go on more dates with Water Fairy, which would mean that he wouldn’t have time for this.

The reasons that Lu Li was able to get to his current status was firstly, because he truly had potential in gaming. If this wasn’t the case, he could only get so far. Secondly, it was his personality that was honed and shaped due to his poor upbringing, which improved his determination and judgment.

However, there was one more reason, which was the most important.

A new life!
