Chapter 799: Chapter 799: The Warmth of Returning to the Village_1

In the small mountain village, houses stood in orderly fashion, with wisps of cooking smoke curling upward.

As soon as Li Qing’s feet touched the ground at the entrance of the village, all the matters weighing on his heart seemed to drop away in an instant.

There was no barrier separating this place from the outside world like the ones at aristocratic families’ "Cave Heaven," but in Li Qing’s heart, there was one.

No matter what he did outside or what trials and tribulations he faced, whenever he returned here, his soul instantly quieted down.

The small mountain village might not be an idyllic paradise, but its mountains, water, even the air and sunshine, felt different to Li Qing from those of the outside world. They seemed to possess a magical effect that soothed his soul, allowing him to fully relax, unwind, and enjoy himself.

A warm smile naturally curled up at the corners of his mouth as Li Qing, swinging his backpack, walked toward the small convenience store at the village entrance.

The villagers’ enthusiasm wasn’t dampened by the harsh cold of winter. They gathered in groups outside the convenience store, using the tables and chairs from the barbecue stand to play cards and chat, gossiping about the few sensational stories the village had to offer.

"Qingzi’s back, huh? What in the world keeps you so busy running around all day?"

Upon seeing Li Qing, a village woman shouted from afar.

Li Qing laughed, "Just keeping busy with trivial things, trying to make a living."

"You, you rascal, always so modest! Some ’just making a living’ for a big boss like you," the woman laughed and said. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"Even big bosses struggle to make ends meet!" Li Qing shook his head, chuckling, and stepped into the convenience store.

Inside the store, sunlight flooded the floor as Wu Xingxing leaned against the counter, engrossed in her studies, occasionally muttering something to herself.

"You’re back?" She asked without looking up.

Li Qing tossed his bag aside, glanced at the joyous villagers outside, and pinched Wu Xingxing’s chin, "What’s up? You seem cold today. I feel like I can see a strong resentment in you."

"What are you talking about? There are so many people outside. I’ve got to appear a bit indifferent," Wu Xingxing giggled as she looked up, "If not for them, I’d be leaping into your arms this instant and gobbling you up."

Li Qing grinned, "You almost scared me to death. I thought maybe you were angry because I’ve been away a bit too long this time."

"It wasn’t that long this time, right? Anyway, you’re either out every few days or back every few days; I’ve gotten used to it. At least I, an unmarried woman, haven’t fallen into the state of a widow before marriage, so that’s something. No need for me to be angry," Wu Xingxing said playfully, "I don’t know who it was that compared men to birds, saying that one has to try setting them free, let them be, and only then will they appreciate the beauty of the birdcage and the kindness of the master."

"What the heck?" Li Qing’s expression suddenly turned odd, "Why does that sound to me like an insult?"

"That’s just your misunderstanding. The master of the house, well, the female master is certainly also a master," Wu Xingxing laughed.

Li Qing’s face darkened slightly, and he suddenly reached out to grab Wu Xingxing’s plump and perky bosom, "But you compared me to a pet, and even talked about free-range. Isn’t there something wrong with that analogy?"

Even through the clothing, Li Qing could feel the remarkable elasticity.

Thanks to his tireless efforts, Wu Xingxing’s recent changes were quite noticeable. Her face had become more supple, and she seemed even younger than her already youthful appearance, with her figure becoming even more curvaceous.

The once lively girl had quietly gained a bit of a sultry charm.

The combination of these two aspects in one person exuded a temperament that was utterly captivating.

"Stop messing around, there are people outside. Wait until we get back tonight, and I’ll wear you out!" Wu Xingxing softly slapped Li Qing’s hand away, quickly glanced outside, and whispered, "I want to sit on your face, and let you truly feel how deep my ’watery’ yearning is."

"Okay, I’ll definitely satisfy you, but as for who will wear out whom, well that’s hard to say," Li Qing said with a wicked smile.

Among his women, Wu Xingxing was especially uninhibited.

If not for his sake, Li Qing might not have succeeded in bringing these few women together into one bed.

"What are you doing here?" Li Qing peeked at the content on Wu Xingxing’s phone and asked.

A troubled expression immediately appeared on Wu Xingxing’s cute, pretty face, "Subject four questions, they’re just too difficult."

Li Qing was stunned for a moment, tactfully not expressing his surprise.

Wu Xingxing had already progressed to subject four, and he hadn’t even noticed until now.

Obviously, he couldn’t say this, as the little miss would definitely be unhappy to hear it.

"Aren’t the questions in subject four similar to those in subject one?" Li Qing asked.

Resting her head in her hands, Wu Xingxing murmured with a face full of distress, "They are similar, but the problem is I’ve stretched my battle line too long, and I’ve forgotten what the questions in subject one were all about. Now I can only start all over again. I should have pushed through in one go and shortened the timeline."

"No worries," Li Qing soothed, "You feel like you’ve forgotten now, but you definitely still have some recollection. A second look and you’re sure to remember what you should, there’s nothing to fret about."

Wu Xingxing looked at Li Qing with a wistful gaze, "I’m already on my second revision, but my error rate is still around forty percent. I feel like it’s not my body you’ve worn out, but my brain seems to have been messed with by you. Next time, you’re not allowed to mess with my mouth."

Li Qing couldn’t help but be torn between laughter and tears, "What does that kind of thing have to do with the brain? You’re just making excuses."

"I feel like it does," Wu Xingxing mumbled, "Now I think about that sort of thing every few days, and whenever I do, I feel uncomfortable all over, and my memory is worse. This is on you."

Li Qing: ...

"Well, then... how about we do less of that from now on?" Li Qing said with a chuckle.

"No way!" Wu Xingxing immediately raised her voice decisively, shouting, "We can’t do that less, I’ll just review it a few more times. So what if my memory’s gotten bad? I refuse to believe that repeated revision won’t help me remember."

Li Qing couldn’t suppress his chuckles. Wu Xingxing seemed to have developed a bit of an addiction.

"So, anything new happening in the village lately?"

He tactfully did not continue on that earlier topic, took a seat beside her, and shifted the conversation.

’The village’s news? Recently there seems to be quite a lot," Wu Xingxing tilted her head, thought hard for a moment and then said, "Your house..."

"What ’your house’? It’s ’our house’." Li Qing peeled an orange, rather irritably corrected her.

Wu Xingxing giggled, squeezed next to Li Qing, and draped her arm over his shoulder, "Yes, our house. Our house is nearly finished. These days they are working on the interior decorations. Old Tang told me it should be fully complete in about half a month. After airing it out for a while, we can move in."
