The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 806: The Joy of Reunion
The days at home were always tranquil and wonderful.
So comfortable that Li Qing didn’t want to think about the messy matters outside at all.
Once you step out of the village, it feels like either fighting or intrigue, with a constant sense that the sky is about to change at any moment.
But in the village, the sunshine was warm, the days were calm, and the pace of life seemed to slow down and become leisurely all at once.
Doing some odd jobs every day, then exchanging feelings with the women around him from time to time, was just perfect.
Li Qing had recently taken a liking to sharing feelings anytime, anywhere, finding a place to do it upon sight, familiar yet with different thrills and beauty.
And even better, whether it was his sister-in-law or Wu Xingxing, they were all very cooperative, especially Tian Yue’e, who became unstoppable when on a roll. It had only been three days since Li Qing stayed at home, and she had arranged for vacuum readiness to facilitate Li Qing’s potential spur-of-the-moment conquests.
However, just as Li Qing was enjoying the comfortable time at home, outside, a storm was about to brew.
The decisive action of the Nine Truth Palace had stirred up a huge wave in the entire Cultivation World.
The reactions of the sects and powers varied, with some starting to retract their sharp edges, clearly conceding on the matter of King Qi’s Underground Palace, expressing support for the stance taken by the Nine Truth Palace.
But there were also louder opposing voices, even shouting that the Nine Truth Palace wanted to assume control of everything, discarding the Ninth Bureau’s management approach, and intending to disrupt the current peace to engage in tyrannical acts.
All sorts of opinions were rampant, making the whole Cultivation World seem murky, as if a dark undercurrent was stirring wildly.
The Nine Truth Palace’s response was relatively calm, but the Ninth Bureau was becoming frantic.
They were putting out fires everywhere, trying to calm all sides, urging everyone to maintain a rational attitude and to resolve the issue properly.
But for now, the effects were minimal.
Li Qing was aware of these changes through the messages sent by Zi Ling and Long Eyebrow True Person, but he didn’t take it seriously.
After all, even if the sky were to fall, there would be tall people to hold it up; what could a small fry like him do?
Even if he knew about these matters, it was just knowing, unable to play any role.
What he was earnestly thinking about was the compensation Wu Family had promised him, but Long Eyebrow True Person told him that it would take some more time.
Neither the Heavenly Rank Secret Technique nor the defense magic artifacts of the Earth Rank were things that could be easily deciphered and understood; Li Qing was told to be prepared to wait a while. As for waiting, he could afford to wait, as long as he eventually got his hands on those items.
The orange cat walked leisurely toward Li Qing and naturally coiled itself beside his leg.
Li Qing put away his smartphone and laughed, "I’ve realized that you, this little bastard, have it the best."
This creature that lived in the Underground Palace now seemed to have completely adapted to the local ways.
The orange cat let out a low meow and began meticulously washing its face with its paw.
Despite its aloof cat king demeanor, its face-washing was just like any other cat’s.
An electric scooter turned down the small road, and Guan Lin, dressed in a gray wool coat, got off with Tian Yueqin.
Li Qing was naturally very familiar with Tian Yue’e, his own younger sister, but since she lived at school, and rented a place in town to stay in during holidays because of frequent tutoring arrangements, they didn’t see each other as often.
"Heard you became the big man of the house as soon as you got back?" Guan Lin chuckled, her complexion much improved and her skin more delicate, as she waived at Li Qing, who was sitting in the corner soaking up the sun.
"Who said that? I don’t have anything else to do. Just briefly enjoying the sunshine and the simple life," Li Qing laughed.
"Who said it? I’m afraid it’s what everyone’s saying," Guan Lin said with a sweet smile.
The powerful effects of the Immortality Elixir made this woman appear even more charming.
Her slightly upturned lips and those two shallow dimples instantly stirred Li Qing’s ardent heart.
Speaking of which, it had indeed been a while since he last saw Guan Lin.
"That’s just slander. I’ve only been resting for a couple of days," Li Qing said grumpily, "Why did you two come together?"
"Yue Qin just happened to be coming home, so I brought her along on the way. I heard you were back, and I... I just wanted to come over and check." Guan Lin’s eyes shimmered with a subtle gleam as her eyelids gently drooped.
Li Qing immediately understood her intentions; coming over to check meant it definitely wasn’t just a simple visit.
"Brother Qingzi, have you seen my sister?" Tian Yueqin asked, shouldering a large backpack.
Tian Yueqin resembled Tian Yue’e by about seventy to eighty percent, even their height and build were very similar, but Tian Yueqin possessed an additional sense of youthful vivacity and lacked some of Tian Yue’e’s irresistibly sultry and voluptuous charm.
"This morning I gathered that they were planning to harvest vegetables, so she’s probably over at the greenhouse," Li Qing said.
Because the barbecue stall business had been particularly booming lately, Tian Yue’e had no choice but to hire the village women to help with picking the vegetables, though they still needed to keep a close eye on things from time to time.
Even though the situation had improved, if one didn’t pay attention, those with ill intentions would still fancy taking things for themselves, only to quibble over wages later.
All the women at home, including Li Qing himself, were now wholeheartedly focused on the barbecue stall business.
Everything else was done when there was spare time; if not, they would contract it out.
"Oh, in that case, I won’t go home yet. I’ll mooch a meal at sister-in-law’s place. You wouldn’t mind, would you, Brother Qingzi?" Tian Yueqin said sweetly, deliberately addressing Li Qing.
"I do mind," Li Qing replied with a smile.
"Even if you mind, I’m still going to eat," Tian Yueqin replied, sticking her tongue out at Li Qing defiantly.
"Actually, I gathered from their conversation that I might need to cook. But since you’re here, you can take over for me. If you cook, I won’t mind at all," Li Qing called out.
"But I don’t know how to cook. What should we do about that, Brother Qingzi?" Tian Yueqin said, feigning worry with a frown.
"Stop pretending," Li Qing said teasingly, "Do it well, and I have a reward for you."
Tian Yueqin huffed and pulled up her chin, "Brother Qingzi, I’m not a seven- or eight-year-old little girl anymore, I’m an adult, you know. Don’t try to cajole me with tricks for kids. Tell me, what’s the reward?"
"Didn’t you say you didn’t want it?" Li Qing laughed.
"I want to see what you have to offer first," Tian Yueqin said earnestly.
"A magical little something that can keep you forever eighteen, want it?" Li Qing teased.
