Chapter 827: Chapter 827: Turmoil on the Internet

"No, you can drink, you’re just pretending," Miao Yue pushed the cup in front of Li Yumeng, enunciating each word deliberately.

Li Yumeng snorted, pouting her thick lips that were lightly coated with lip glaze, and whined, "But I really can’t do it!"

"No, you really can!" Miao Yue glared, emphasizing his tone.

Li Yumeng was taken aback, looked at Li Qing, and then said, "Alright, I indeed can drink a little."

"Don’t take offense, brother, this fellow is always used to putting on an act, liking to posture in any situation," Miao Yue explained to Li Qing with a smile.

Li Qing waved it off with a smile, "It’s fine, it’s fine, if you don’t like to drink, you don’t have to!"

"Now that won’t do, we are meeting you for the first time, brother. For our first encounter, we need to at least act with some decency; putting on airs is just too annoying," Hua Liangjun said, "This damn sissy is just asking for it, lost in pretending to be a woman, completely ignorant of common decency."

"It’s nothing, all small matters," Li Qing waved his hand and said, "However, would you mind if we two brothers swapped seats?"

The table was square, with Li Yumeng, that damn sissy, on his left-hand side, and the man with sunglasses on his right-hand side.

Li Qing had only been seated for a short while but already felt somewhat suffocated by Li Yumeng’s posture.

If he sat any longer, he truly feared he might end up spitting out each bite of his dinner.

That pouting, shoulder-twisting, deliberately throat-pinching way of speaking was just too nauseating.

Especially when he spoke like that, Li Qing couldn’t help but think of the possibility that he and the other two people at the table might all have been troublemakers, involved with this pretty boy in certain activities, which made him feel even worse as acid rose in his stomach.

Li Qing’s words left both Hua Liangjun and Li Yumeng stunned.

Hua Liangjun looked both angry and bewildered, while Li Yumeng’s eyes were full of resentment.

"Qingzi, are you... disgusted with me?" Li Yumeng asked sweetly, her eyes brimming with sorrow.

"Oh, for the love of... just quit talking," Hua Liangjun cursed angrily, stood up and said to Li Qing, "Brother, let’s you and I switch, it’s my oversight, I should have thought of it long ago. Which normal man could stand his damn behavior?"

"I am... decidedly heterosexual, the very straight type," Li Qing said, "It’s not that I’m despising you, brother, you look fine, this is my issue."

"Brother, don’t bother explaining to him, the more you do, the more this damn sissy will get cocky, and might even think you like him," Hua Liangjun waved his hand and said, "About him, let me tell you... it’s a long story, and I can’t say too much or we might end up fighting again."

Li Yumeng cast her eyes down, glaring at Hua Liangjun and retorted angrily: "You rotten guy, I want to kill you right now!"

"Drink up. We’re meeting Qingzi for the first time; give me and Miao Miao some face," Hua Liangjun said sternly with a stern face.

Li Yumeng rolled her eyes and snorted.

Perhaps for the sake of the bigger picture, faced with the frank disdain, he actually managed to hold back.

Finally, the atmosphere at the table settled down somewhat, and the conversation started to shift in a more appropriate direction.

Li Qing took the opportunity to inquire about their backgrounds and the purpose of their visit to the village.

But the answers he got were far from satisfactory; not a single truthful word came out of these three scoundrels.

The only aspect that might have been somewhat true was their names, which Li Qing concluded were real based on how they addressed each other. Beyond that, their identities and backgrounds must have been made up on the spot.

This irked Li Qing, leaving him with the feeling of having wasted his warmth on a cold dog.

He was so enthusiastic, and those three bastards were actually willing to give him a name?

Hiding something so conspicuously, their intentions were obviously nowhere near pure.

Li Qing already had some rough judgments in his mind, but that didn’t delay the drinking and feasting.

Two genuine roasted lamb legs, the three guys gobbled them up with relish.

That reaction was probably the only genuine thing about them besides their names.

However, while the four of them were drinking and eating meat, seemingly getting along on the surface, the video of Li Yumeng and Hua Liangjun’s showdown in the parking lot had already gone viral on the internet, with countless videos rocketing up the trending lists.

There were simply too many people filming before; although not in the thousands, a couple of hundred was more than enough.

At that scene, nearly everyone had their phones out for a flurry of flashes and clicks.

And now, whenever there’s something newsworthy, people love posting it online, so it was inevitable that some of these homogeneous videos would trend.

The most viewed video had already hit several million plays with tens of thousands of comments.

"Can anyone tell me if this is real or fake?"

"Are you dumb? This is clearly just special effects; how could it be real? Brother, use your brain a little when you use your eyes."

"I feel it’s real; I’ve seen several of these identical videos already, and the angles are all different."

"Different angles don’t mean it’s real, buddy. Special effects also involve camera movement!"

"Speaking seriously as someone in the industry, this video is absolutely real, and the two people in it should be the cultivators of legend! Did you guys see the Transcend Tribulation video earlier? That thing is also real. Don’t listen to the nonsense on the internet that it’s fake; they’re intentionally covering up the news, folks. The world isn’t as simple as we imagine."

"Any locals here? I’ll cover the travel expenses, go to the site for us, do a live stream. This video was posted just half an hour ago, so if nothing goes wrong, we should definitely be able to find some eyewitnesses, or even the people involved."

"I’ll chip in a hundred, count me in!"

"This place is our town’s Sanhe Village, and I’m actually nearby. If you brothers trust me, send the money privately. I’ll quit what I’m doing with this woman and live stream for you guys!"

"You bastard, can you actually keep fucking a woman while scrolling through videos?"

"Hey, she’s doing the work, and I’m watching videos. Isn’t that delightful? What do you say, investing brothers, streaming or not?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"Why don’t you stream what you’re doing right now? We brothers don’t mind waiting a bit."

...

Li Qing had lost interest in continuing to chat and probe these three.

Not a single truthful word came out of the mouths of these three little beasts!

However, as long as he could confirm that their names were real, it was fairly convenient for him to find people in his current identity.

Of course, amongst cultivators, there would definitely be some without records, but the vast majority were registered with the Ninth Bureau.

As long as his luck wasn’t terribly bad, he should be able to find the real backgrounds of these three without any surprises.

After three rounds of drinks and a variety of dishes, Li Qing saw no more profit to be squeezed from these three and was about to find an excuse to leave and rest, when suddenly four or five people surged into the barbecue stand, each holding up their mobile phones.
