Chapter 841: Chapter 841: Constructing the Immortal Cauldron

The sky was clear, the air was crisp, and the sun was shining brightly. When the sunlight squeezed through the cracks of the windows and spread all over the large bed, Li Qing crawled out of the covers with a satisfied smile and stretched lazily.

Around him were several women from his family, sprawled in various positions sleep.

They had squeezed together like this for the whole night.

Last night, their playful antics got a bit wild, and they drank quite a bit of alcohol. Han Mei, Yu Lan, and a few others couldn’t hold on, falling asleep amidst the fun. By the time it was the final stage, only Li Qing, Jing Yan, and Qin Wenjun were still awake.

The past few days’ events had seemed to be quite a shock for Qin Wenjun. She spent another hour or two discussing her plans for the village with Li Qing and Jing Yan before they finally went to sleep, just as dawn was breaking.

Li Qing searched around the room with light footsteps, found his clothes, and after getting dressed, he tiptoed out of the room.

Although last night it was the six women against him, Li Qing was the final victor.

Jing Yan was quite capable and was the only one who felt comfortable but not tired out.

Due to her special constitution, Han Mei shouldn’t have gotten exhausted, but last night she was played hard by Tian Yue’e and the others.

Nobody knows when they had prepared those toys. They started off with a barrage of ’long spears and short cannons,’ and at the beginning, Han Mei almost fainted from exhaustion. Afterward, they drank a lot of alcohol. Han Mei, who should have lasted until the end, was actually the first to fall.

By the time everyone realized it, she was fast asleep.

Li Qing stretched his arms and walked out of the room, gently closing the door behind him.

Jing Yan had also gotten up early and stood in the courtyard, looking at a flock of sparrows on the roof.

"Are you chatting with them?" Li Qing asked with a smile when he saw her.

"My husband has gotten up," Jing Yan turned her head, her eyes shining with a gentle light, smiling and saying, "I just think they’re cute, but I don’t have the ability to communicate smoothly with them."

"They’re also quite tasty," Li Qing chuckled, "When I was young and we were poor, they were like my little snacks. It’s hard to catch them in other seasons, but around this time, there isn’t much in the fields for them to eat. Just a handful of grain scattered on the ground, then cover with a basket. If you’re lucky, you can catch quite a few. Just a little salt and stewed, the taste was so good it made you want to swallow your tongue."

"Don’t underestimate sparrows, they may be small and not have much meat, but they are indeed delicious. It’s probably also related to the scarcity of those times when I couldn’t eat much else. If I stewed a pot now, I probably wouldn’t get the same flavor as in my childhood."

Jing Yan laughed and said, "I was about to go catch sparrows for my husband, so... do you still eat them now?"

Li Qing was amused by Jing Yan’s somewhat silly demeanor, waved his hand, and laughed, "I was just saying, let’s not disturb them now. I thought you’d say, ’How could you eat them?’ and then give me an earful for that."

"In the era I lived through, I saw people eat anything that could and couldn’t be eaten. What’s so strange about my husband eating a few sparrows? After my husband mentioned it, I got a bit eager to try them myself," Jing Yan said with a gentle smile.

"Then I’ll go catch some for you. It’s been a long time since I played that game, what a good chance to test my skills," Li Qing said as he rubbed his hands together eagerly.

Jing Yan shook her head and said, "Let’s not, there’s no need to harm their lives just for my little curiosity."

"No need to worry, what’s there to ponder so much about? I’ll catch a few for us," Li Qing said with a smile.

"My lord, there’s no need, your concubine just mentioned it casually," Jing Yan said as she pressed on Li Qing’s shoulder, "Although cultivators do not abstain from meat and can eat whatever they wish, they should still revere life. There’s no need to harm them just out of a bit of curiosity."

Li Qing laughed, "Having heard what you said, I indeed feel somewhat reluctant to do it now, so let’s just forget it and spare their lives."

Jing Yan smiled tenderly and nodded lightly.

Li Qing found a ladder and climbed up to the eaves.

"My lord, I know you cherish me, but please don’t catch them. I was just mentioning it casually," Jing Yan’s body floated lightly, and she flew up to the rooftop, sitting in front of Li Qing.

"No, you misunderstood. I came up here to get something," Li Qing said with a smile, actually climbing up to retrieve the small alchemy furnace.

He reached beside Jing Yan and successfully extracted Xiao Ding that was hidden under the roof tiles.

"Is this Li Yuanxian’s Immortal Constructing Furnace?" Jing Yan asked in surprise.

"Yan’er, you know about this thing?" Li Qing asked.

Jing Yan nodded, "Li Yuanxian was an astoundingly talented individual indeed. His Soul-breaking Arrow and this Immortal Constructing Furnace are both considered heavy treasures. After his death, countless people dug up the earth in search of these two artifacts, but who would have thought that in the end, they would be collected by you, my lord."

"The Soul-breaking Arrow sought me out on its own, while this thing was found by my master in the Underground Palace," Li Qing recounted. "He said it was a little trinket without much to it and told me to just take it and have my fun with it, and as a result... Inside it, several elixirs can be fixedly produced, directly making me wealthy."

"My lord is so capable, and my sisters-in-law are so young because of the elixirs from this, aren’t they?" Jing Yan asked with a teasing light in her eyes and a gentle chuckle.

Li Qing chuckled, "You can’t hide such things from Yan’er. Indeed, Li Yuanxian was really talented to be able to create something like this. You were right in your earlier criticisms; that fellow really did squander his ingenuity on the wrong pursuits."

"That fellow... indeed," Jing Yan examined the small furnace and said, "However, this item wasn’t actually crafted by Li Yuanxian. If the rumors are to be believed, he only made some repairs to it, and even those were incomplete. This Immortal Constructing Furnace itself is a divine artifact, rumored to be a remnant from ancient times."

"As for Li Yuanxian, that bastard always spoke with a forked tongue, mixing truth with falsehood. There were rumors at the time claiming that he had collected the fragments of the Immortal Constructing Furnace and reforged this treasure, while others suggested he had merely acquired the secret methods of forging the Furnace and had created an imitation of the Immortal Constructing Furnace."

"But looking at this item now, it should be the genuine Immortal Constructing Furnace passed down from ancient times. Li Yuxian did indeed perform some repairs, especially here at the ear of the furnace. Can you see that there’s something slightly off inside?"

Li Qing bent down to inspect the spot Jing Yan pointed out, "Yan’er, are you talking about the patterns inside?"

"Exactly, the Immortal Constructing Furnace is forged as a whole, and even the slightest damage can affect its power," Jing Yan said with a nod. "This part is most likely the repairs Li Yuanxian did, but his repair skills were mediocre, far from restoring it to its full potential."

"Are you saying that this thing is now only considered a deficient product?" Li Qing asked in astonishment.

With a faint smile, Jing Yan nodded, "My lord, this is a Heaven Rank Magic Artifact. How could its function be limited to just this? If the rumors are correct, a real Immortal Constructing Furnace can... actually construct immortals!"
