The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 936 Ah Gou
Li Qing’s heart was both angry and complicated at the moment.
He had only seen such things in the news before and never expected to experience it firsthand.
Moreover, this incident had an entirely unexpected beginning.
A suitor of Qi Mengru, he had initially just planned to make him give up and stop harassing Qi Mengru. Who would have thought that this guy had such a scandal on his back and that his approach to Qi Mengru was also because of his regrets and even contemplated killing Mengru.
This guy wasn’t pursuing girls for love and romance, but to brainwash them. After mentally and physically tormenting them for a while, he would sell them like goods to make money.
This guy was simply a demon walking among men; he was utterly unworthy of being called human.
Li Qing forcefully suppressed the murderous intent in his heart and asked in a deep voice, "What about the other two people?"
Wu Yuzong was silent for a little while this time, seeming somewhat at a loss. After a long while, he muttered, "Yeah, where did the other two go? Two people... two people..."
He seemed to have crashed, repeating these two words over and over for a long time, about five or six minutes, before he suddenly shouted as if he had an epiphany, "Ah, I remember now, I used them as fertilizer for the vegetables. And let me tell you, the vegetables grown from tender girls are exceptionally soft and have a special flavor, quite delicious. I suggest you try it yourself when you’re free."
Li Qing glared fiercely at Wu Yuzong, then suddenly swung his fist out.
With a thud, Wu Yuzong flew up like a sandbag and smashed into the wall behind before slumping down limply.
"Don’t beat him to death," Huan Ling Ji said with a face so grim it was frightening as she sternly added a word of caution.
"Such a dog thing won’t die so easily," Li Qing snorted coldly and said, "I’ll call Director Jia. Compose yourself a bit, and report this case to the department as well. Now that we’re involved, we must ensure there’s a result."
"With this evidence, he’s already enough for a death sentence. Why bother reporting it to the department?" Huan Ling Ji asked, puzzled. "In fact, it’s not quite appropriate for us to get involved in this case; it’s overstepping our bounds."
"But we’re already involved, and if this guy underwent a psychological assessment, he would definitely be diagnosed with a mental disorder. I worry he might not die so easily," Li Qing said in a heavy voice. "If, in the end, due to mental illness, he meets a different fate, then we will forcefully take charge."
Huan Ling Ji understood as soon as mental illness was mentioned.
She nodded and said, "Leave this to me, but with such an extensive crime, he’s unlikely to end up with long-term imprisonment because of mental illness."
"You never know; Director Jia said this guy’s family is very law-savvy," Li Qing said coldly. "I really hope they come to talk law with me. If a remorseless murderer escapes his deserved punishment because of mental illness, then that would be the biggest joke of our time."
"You don’t need to be so extreme; the outcome will undoubtedly be the punishment of the villain," Huan Ling Ji said in a soothing tone. "Besides, I think you should ask his accomplices too; let’s take the opportunity to root out and destroy this entire industry chain!"
"He sold those girls like goods for people to auction; there must be countless accomplices behind him. Keeping these people around will only harm more."
Li Qing slapped his forehead hard. "I got so clouded by anger because of this bastard; this is indeed serious."
He fished out a healing elixir from his pocket and walked towards Wu Yuzong.
Just as he was about to feed the bastard the elixir, Huan Ling Ji suddenly said, "There’s no need to waste the elixir, I can wake him up. Giving someone like him an elixir would be better off feeding a dog."
Li Qing took the advice to heart and immediately put the elixir away.
Huan Ling Ji then channeled a strand of spiritual power into Wu Yuzong’s body, and within moments, the guy abruptly sat up like a corpse breaking from a grave, his eyes wide and round as if he was about to devour someone.
He stared fixedly at Li Qing with a fierce and terrifying look, "I kindly recommended some fun stuff to you, why did you hit me?"
"You remembered wrong, I didn’t hit you, you hit yourself," Li Qing said indifferently.
"I hit myself?" Wu Yuzong pointed at his own face, smeared with blood and so swollen it was almost difficult to distinguish his features, and asked with some confusion, "Why would I hit myself? Am I crazy?"
"Hmm, you might be crazy," Li Qing replied coolly.
"Maybe..." The ferocity in Wu Yuzong’s eyes faded away, and gradually he reverted to his imbecilic expression.
That psychotic expression of a serial killer was genuinely terrifying when it turned fierce out of the blue.
It looked as if he really wanted to devour someone, an exaggeration often used in many instances, but on this guy, it seemed rather weak.
"How did you sell those girls? What channel did you use?" Li Qing went straight to the point.
Wu Yuzong’s dull gaze shifted slightly, "How did I sell them? It’s simple, just call Ah Gou to pick up the people. He’s a regular customer of mine. That guy used to buy dogs, heh heh, I sold him dogs several times, made a small profit, and then he told me selling dogs doesn’t make money, asked me to sell people instead. Said he knew a guy who was very good at this stuff, very safe methods, no chance of leading trouble back to the seller."
"I was immediately tempted. The good ones I kept, the not-so-good I sold, survival of the fittest, right? Initially, I used to steal other people’s dogs, play with them for a few days then sell them, make some money; it was all an illegitimate business to begin with."
"Switching from one illegitimate business to an even more illegitimate business seems perfectly reasonable. So, I prepared very carefully. The first time I was ready to sell, the person who came after a phone call was actually Ah Gou, the bastard. Only then did I realize that the guy he was talking about... damn it, it was actually him."
Perhaps because Wu Yuzong had just been beaten up, the power of Huan Ling Ji’s technique had been somewhat diminished. At this moment, Wu Yuzong spoke quite coherently, not jumping erratically from one thing to another, making it somewhat easier for Li Qing to follow along.
This despicable creature wore human skin but engaged in actions worse than those of beasts.
A teacher, yet without an ounce of bottom line.
Li Qing didn’t even want to imagine what his "playing" with the stolen dogs for a few days entailed; it was too disgusting.
"Are you still in contact with this Ah Gou?" Li Qing asked.
"Of course, that bastard asked me a few days ago if I had any goods. But recently... I’ve been preparing a grand play for my dream lover, the regret of my life, so I’ve had no time to look for new goods. That guy actually got upset," Wu Yuzong said, "It’s all because I spoiled him. If he annoys me, I’ll cook him along with the others."
