The Healing Solaris Cleric-Chapter 327: Tail Tag (3)
Chapter 327: Tail Tag (3)
Kai walked through the corridors of the Rashion royal palace with Helik and Rashya. The two, who always stayed in the celestial realm, looked around constantly, amazed by the human world's palace.
“Woooow...”
As Rashya stopped in front of a beautiful painting, Helik said, “This painting is pretty. Rashya, if you want, I shall paint one for you.”
Rashya shook her head firmly. “No thanks. You’re bad at drawing.”
“Th-that was hundreds of years ago! Things are different now. Now it is.”
She still wasn’t good at it, and if she had been drawing for hundreds of years, how could she still be at that level?
Kai wiped away a drop of sweat and gave them a warning, “Both of you are talking too loudly. You can’t talk like that in the royal palace.”
“Why not?” Helik asked with innocent eyes.
“Hmm... You know how libraries have signs that say Silence? That’s not someone’s name. It means everyone should be quiet. The royal palace has to be even quieter than that.”
“I don’t know. I’ve never been to a library...”
As Helik pouted, Kai knelt down to meet her eye level and tried to help her understand.
“Okay, Helik. Who lives in the royal palace?”
“The king.”
“That’s right. This place is like the king’s house. How would you feel if someone came to the Celestial Garden where you live and made a lot of noise?”
“Hmm.” After thinking for a moment, Helik replied, “I’d want to throw them out.”
“Right? So when you visit someone else’s home, you shouldn’t be noisy. And this isn’t just any home, it’s the king’s home.”
“But I’m a god, aren’t I?”
“Me too,” Rashya raised her hand, once again asserting herself.
However, Kai didn’t even blink and pressed the two of them with logical reasoning. “Yes, you’re both gods. But you sealed most of your powers to come down here, right? So who are you here?”
“I’m Helizabeth. Your distant relative.”
“I’m Rashya. Helik’s childhood friend, who is your distant relative.”
“Exactly. You’re both pretending to be ordinary humans right now. Remember when we played doctor? Helik, you acted like a doctor even though you’re not one, right?”
“Mhmm. I’m good at acting, aren’t I?”
“Sure. Anyway, since you’re playing humans now, you have to be very polite in front of the king. Got it?”
“Okay.”
“Yes.”
As Kai finished his lecture and tried to stand, he paused and bent down again. “By the way, Helik. I’ve been meaning to ask, where did you learn to talk like that?”
“What way of talking are you referring to?”
“That whole ‘aren’t I’, you’ve been using.”
“Ah, you mean that.” Helik chuckled and began to explain, “As you know, I modified the phone, didn’t I?”
“Yes, you made a phone that works using divine power.”
“One can’t modify something without knowing how it works. So I observed humans using their phones for a few days. In that process, I also saw the messages they exchanged. That’s how I picked up that way of speaking.”
Wasn’t that a crime? Or perhaps, since she was a god watching over the human realm, it could be said it was a part of her duties.
“It’s just that I don’t do much, but once I do something, I learn it quickly.”
“Yes, well... you do pick things up fast,” Kai nodded reluctantly with a troubled expression. “Anyway, please be mindful of your words when you meet the king. Do you both understand?”
“Understood.”
“I’ll be careful.”
Kai headed toward the audience chamber with the two girls, who were very obedient.
“Hm?” Bach, who had been waiting at the entrance to the audience chamber, looked surprised to see Kai. “Why are you here... Ah, was it you who rooted out the infiltrators in the Solarian Church?”
“Yes.”
“Truly, His Majesty's words fit perfectly,” Bach shook his head with an expression of astonishment.
“What did he say?”
“He said you’re like an onion. You always reveal another layer.”
“I’ve been told I’m quite like a rich broth.”
“Rich broth? I don’t know what that means, but His Majesty is waiting inside, so go on in.”
“Alright.”
As Kai entered through the door Bach opened, King Beoruk, who had been listening to reports, dismissed the ministers. “We’ll continue the report later.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Once the ministers left, King Beoruk said to Kai, “So it was you after all.”
“You knew it was me?”
“I wasn’t certain, but I suspected as much. After all, you are an Apostle of the Solarian Church.”
Among the NPCs of the Kingdom of Rashion, only two knew this truth. The former chancellor and leader of the Darkness Hunters, Tardal, and his disciple the king Beoruk.
Well, if he knows I’m an Apostle, it wouldn’t be hard to connect me to the infiltrator incident.
With nothing left to hide, Kai nodded. “At the time, I was fortunate enough to discover the infiltrators of the Church of Muldine.”
“Then we must pray that fortune favors us once again. Who are the children beside you?”
“These children... You can consider them my assistants. I believe they’ll be of help in identifying nobles who have shaken hands with the Church of Muldine.”
“Hello, I’m Helizabeth.”
“It’s such a breezy afternoon. My name is Rashya.”
Both gave a polite ninety-degree bow with their hands placed on their stomachs.
Their adorable gesture brought a smile even to King Beoruk, who rarely smiled. “They’re adorable. So, how can I help?”
“First, we must meet with the nobles, preferably in a way that keeps our presence unknown.”
“In that case, I know just the place. I’ll summon the nobles there.”
“That would be more than enough.”
“Good.”
Nodding, King Beoruk instructed an attendant to guide the three to a specific location. One wall of the room was a solid pane of glass, through which the room on the other side could be seen.
“From that room, this glass will appear to be a normal wall. An illusion spell has been cast on it.”
At the attendant’s explanation, Kai expressed his admiration. “This is exactly the kind of place I was hoping for. It’s perfect.”
“I’m glad to hear that. Here are the profiles of the nobles to be investigated. Once you’ve finished reviewing them, please press the button on this receiver.” The attendant handed over a thick file of documents and a remote-like device, then bowed. “Then please do your best.”
Once the attendant left the room, Kai sank into the plush sofa prepared inside. Helik and Rashya looked at Kai, then each sat down on their own sofas, enjoying the softness.
“Helik, is there anything I can do to help? With identifying the infiltrators, I mean.”
“Of course there is.”
“Just let me know, and I’ll do everything I can. How can I help—”
As Kai spoke, someone entered the room on the other side. The man glanced around at the walls suspiciously but, finding nothing odd, soon sat down in a luxurious chair and closed his eyes.
“Seems he really can’t see us.” Muttering in wonder, Kai skimmed through the report he had been given. “Viscount Methan, a noble from The Pure. His territory is in the east... huh, that’s right next to mine.”
Turning his head, Kai looked at Helik.
She was squinting, staring intently at Viscount Methan.
“Hm, I can’t really tell. Probably because most of my divine power is sealed while I’m down here.”
“Well, then what do we do?”
“You’ll have to help me.” Helik spoke as if it were nothing, then looked at Kai. “Lend me some of your Holy Power. I’ll use it gently and return it back.”
“Uh... but I don’t know how to lend it to you. What should I do?”
NPCs could freely control Holy Power or mana as if it were part of their body, but Kai was a player. Without the help of the system, it was impossible to manipulate such energy with willpower alone.
“You just need to hold my hand and think about lending me your Holy Power.”
Helik extended her small hand to Kai.
Watching this, Rashya squinted and muttered, “Liar...”
“Huh? Did you say something, Rashya?”
“No, it’s nothing.”
Tilting his head in confusion, Kai gently held Helik’s tiny hand.
So if I think about lending my Holy Power...
The moment he formed the thought, he could feel his Holy Power slowly being drained.
“Oh! the Holy Power has arrived,” Helik murmured like someone receiving a delivery.
At the same time, the halo donut she had turned off above her head appeared again. Then, after blinking once, her golden eyes began to glow like jewels.
As she examined Viscount Methan with those bright eyes, she said, “He’s an infiltrator.”
“Whoa, really?”
“Mhmm. He’s covered in the energy of those Church of Muldine guys. So annoying.”
After identifying an infiltrator in just three seconds, she pressed Kai’s palm. “Next.”
“Oh, yes. One moment, please.”
Kai marked an X on Viscount Methan’s profile report and pressed the receiver he received from the attendant. Soon, royal guards entered the room and gestured for Viscount Methan to come out, and he tilted his head before leaving.
The next noble who entered, thankfully, had no ties to the Church of Muldine.
In that way, Judge Helik continued to assess the nobles. After several hours had passed, Helik flopped onto the sofa like freshly steamed rice cake, weak and exhausted.
“Ughhh. I’m tired. I worked too much. Cakeee...”
“I’ll buy you a ton once we’re done. Just rest for now.”
Kai stroked Helik’s head, who had already identified several infiltrators.
Watching quietly, Rashya's eyes sparkled like a cat that spotted prey. “Now me! Lend me your Holy Power!”
“Huh? You’re going to help too, Rashya?”
“I’m a god too. I can find them well.”
“I’d be grateful if you helped. I just need to hold your hand too, right?”
“For now, yes.”
If that was right, it was right, and if it wasn't, it wasn’t—what did she mean by "for now"?
Kai took Rasha’s hand without any suspicion. As he was transferring his Holy Power, thinking her hand felt a little colder than Helik’s, he blinked.
“Huh? Rashya, the Holy Power isn’t flowing.”
Even though he thought about lending his Holy Power, none of it was being drained.
“Hehe... Huh? Oh! Maybe the method is a bit different for me.” Rashya lifted Kai’s hand and placed it on top of her head. “For me, you have to stroke my head, like how you always do for Helik.”
“Like this?” Kai gently stroked Rashya’s blue hair, just as he did when praising Helik.
As he did so, Rashya’s expression softened like a freshly made, warm pancake.
“Hehe... yes, that’s it.”
“Do all gods receive Holy Power differently?”
“Exactly.”
“...Such a greedy liar,” Helik muttered this time.
But being completely worn out, she no longer had the strength to speak further.
***
“Truly remarkable.”
King Beoruk read through the report with a look of disbelief because Kai had uncovered as many as thirty-two infiltrators in just seven hours.
There are still a fair number of nobles who haven’t been summoned yet, but even so... astonishing.
It was an impressive result that left his mouth hanging open. At the same time, his brow twitched.
“Burning down an entire mansion to kill a cockroach is foolish, but this time, I cannot let it go.” Speaking in a voice filled with firm anger, he gave orders to his ministers. “Raise the army immediately. I shall punish these traitors severely.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
As the royal castle grew busy in the middle of the night, Beoruk expressed his gratitude to Kai.
“You’ve done a tremendous service. Had it not been for you, who knows what those vile ones would have done in my land... Even the very thought is horrifying. You are indeed a true blessing of the Kingdom of Rashion.”
“Thank you. However, these two deserve more credit than I do this time,” Kai humbly deflected the praise to the two girls.
“Hm?”
Intrigued by this, Beoruk fixed his gaze on Kai's eyes.

[Beoruk is verifying your claim.]
[Beoruk has realized you are telling the truth.]
“Oh, so that really is the truth.” Beoruk, a man sick with the disease of suspicion, only looked at the two girls after verifying. “You two have also done something truly remarkable. If there is anything you desire, speak freely.”
“I want a house made of candy and sweets.”
“I want the painting that was hanging in the hallway. Could I have it, please?”
At their adorable requests, Beoruk burst into hearty laughter. “Hahaha! What cute wishes. Very well, I shall grant the two of you what you desire.”
"Long live the honorable King!"
“Yay, long live the king!”
Helik and Rashya raised their arms with excited expressions and praised Beoruk.
In response, the playful King Beoruk smiled and his eyes sparkled.

[Beoruk failed to discern the truth of Rashya’s words.]
“Huh?”
“What...”
Kai looked at the message window in front of him, taken aback, and Beoruk’s expression hardened. Only the two girls remained oblivious, continuing to praise him.
“His Majesty King Beoruk is the best.”
“That’s right!”
