The Heavenly Dao System-Chapter 101: Trial
Qiu Shan felt his face burning red from embarrassment. If this incident were to leak to his competitors, then they would definitely use this issue to taunt him forever.
Just imagine a sect’s grievance to be aired to the public—in the territory of Lin Loi and many Soul Transformation realm backers no less.
"That’s the gist of the event." Sha Wong concluded his report.
Sometime later, Chu Dong began to explain his side of the story.
"Everyone, look at these injuries of mine. It’s done by the Red Demon Tiger." He revealed his wounds.
However, the moment he did it, Ye Ming rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"The Blue Wind Sect sure knows how to recruit their disciples. They preferred exhibitionists." Ye Ming exclaimed and turned his eyes away.
Even Lin Loi expressed disgust at the sudden exposure.
Qiu Shan was already fuming in anger, and now that he saw Chu Dong behaving so outrageously, he finally exploded.
Without hesitation, Qiu Shan stepped forward and said, "City Lord, I believe it’s clear that Chu Dong is just here to waste everyone’s time. Our Blue Wind Sect will expel him."
After saying that, one of the elders within the Blue Wind Sect turned gloomy. His expression darkened, and his clenched fist was bulging in veins.
Lin Loi didn’t respond to Qiu Shan and instead glanced at Ye Ming. "What do you think?"
As all eyes turned to him, Ye Ming smirked and stared at Tao Wang.
"Let’s hear it from Tao Wang first. She has been silent and overshadowed by Chu Dong’s loud voice." He pointed at Tao Wang, who have been somewhat of a mute since her arrival. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
After all, Tao Wang couldn’t comprehend the situation.
She was certain that Ye Ming knew the truth already, so why was he dragging the scene?
Moreover, her initial treatment in the Justice Hall wasn’t great. But after some time, the guards changed their attitude toward her. Hell, she was even unrestricted most of the time and was granted VIP-like treatment.
With a bittersweet smile, Tao Wang took a deep breath and explained the whole scenario.
"It all began when Senior Dong and Senior Bai wanted to explore the Fushang Forest without the Elders. They said it was a good experience to gain fame and money." Tao Wang bit her lips when she recalled their invitation.
Back then, she still held some goodwill toward Rong Bai, and knowing that they would just be on the outskirts of the Fushang Forest, she ultimately agreed to it.
After all, the outskirts of the Fushang Forest were very close to the Fushang Territory, so the danger was relatively low.
Unfortunately, Chu Dong’s eyes began to reveal greed as they spotted numerous rare herbs. And knowing that the alchemy competition was coming up, Chu Dong planned on harvesting more and extorting the alchemists that would arrive in a storm to partake in the competition.
It was then that they had unknowingly left the outskirt and entered the inner zone of the Fushang Forest.
As luck would have it, they stumbled across a den of monsters who were guarding a seemingly unprotected herb.
Never would they have thought it wasn’t some random monster, but one that belonged to a Red Demon Tiger.
"We were surrounded, and I was sacrificed to become bait after exhausting my spiritual qi. Both Senior Dong and Senior Bai left me." Tao Wang paused her story here, having chosen to conceal Ye Ming’s involvement till the end.
A few seconds later, before anyone else could respond to it, an elder of the Blue Wind Sect stepped forward.
His eyes were unfriendly as he glared at Tao Wang heavily. "You said that you were sacrificed to the Red Demon Tiger, then how did you escape unscathed?"
"Elder Deng?" Qiu Shan raised an eyebrow at Deng Cong’s questioning.
Deng Cong cupped his fist in return and said, "Sorry, Sect Leader, but I just couldn’t help myself. Tao Wang claimed to have been back-stabbed and betrayed by her two Senior Brothers, but there are no injuries around her."
Upon hearing that, Qiu Shan also understood the problem.
It was indeed skeptical why Tao Wang was clear of any form of injuries. Meanwhile, Chu Dong really had wounds that indicated it was from the Red Demon Tiger.
In a sense, it was hard to not lean more on Chu Dong’s claim and story.
Amidst their confusion, Ye Ming finally clapped his hands and praised Deng Cong.
"Wow, you really are a great detective." He gave him a thumbs up.
Stunned, Deng Cong didn’t know why but he felt something ominous coming from Ye Ming.
"It was just that I have dealt with similar situations in the past." Deng Cong didn’t dare to be impolite and explained.
"Oh, similar situations? Care to tell me some of them?"
"I-I don’t think now’s the appropriate time to discuss my past."
"True that, but I’m really curious how you manage to stay composed for so long. Or maybe I should cut off some of Chu Dong’s fingers." Ye Ming stroked his chin and declared.
Almost immediately, Deng Cong’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"Did you mistake the name?" He raised the question. After all, the one he called suspicious was Tao Wang, and not Chu Dong.
"Hahaha!" Suddenly, Ye Ming burst out in laughter as he slammed his palm on the chair armrest.
"Wow, if I hadn’t known the truth, then you have really become a great contender to receive the Oscar acting reward. I mean it seriously. Your acting and demeanor are so real that even the audience would be fooled by you despite knowing the script!"
"Huh?" Deng Cong was taken aback and appeared confused by the terminology. "I’m sorry, but I’m just an Elder of the Blue Wind Sect."
Besides his confusion, even Lin Loi and Qiu Shan were curious about the situation.
’What is he trying to do?’ Lin Loi already knew Chu Dong was guilty, but was unsure why Ye Ming seemed more interested in Deng Cong.
Looking at their confusion, Ye Ming smirked and revealed, "First of all, Deng Cong sure knows how to keep his son hidden from the Blue Wind Sect Leader. Secondly, he sure knows how to conceal his affiliation with the Demons."
