The Heavenly Dao System-Chapter 109: Scumbag
Mo Cheng’s mouth was nearly crooked when he heard his disciple explaining Ye Ming’s statement.
"A-Are you sure about it?" He asked in a baffled tone.
"I’m sure about it." Lin Loi nodded and explained how Ye Ming was the type that seemed to be above everyone.
Whatever he does is simply out of his enjoyment.
Anyone who sabotaged his enjoyment was destined to face his wrath.
"Hah... I guessed that’s really how Seniors behave." Mo Cheng swallowed a mouthful of saliva nervously.
Although Lin Loi was simply giving her input about Ye Ming, the fact was that Mo Cheng also categorized as such.
As a Soul Transformation Realm cultivator, other than the elusive Void Refinement Realm, there was no one that Mo Cheng would bat an eyelid toward.
He could be said to be the most powerful and everyone had to pay respect to him. If he disliked something, then just a single word of his could eliminate them.
Thus, Mo Cheng couldn’t find any fault with the behavior of Ye Ming. In fact, he even supported such behavior.
Why should they care about anyone’s opinion?
In the cultivation world, right and wrong are always determined by strength.
Just like the saying: history was written by the victor!
Even if the victor was the most heinous criminal ever, history would still write them as the most righteous and honorable person ever.
"Are you alright, Master Cheng? Your complexion doesn’t seem well." Lin Loi asked in concern.
"I’m fine." Mo Cheng shook her head and informed her to start getting ready to host the alchemy competition as he fled the scene.
When Lin Loi saw her master fleeing at such a speed, she furrowed her brows. ’Isn’t it just mistaking Senior Dao’s words? Was there a need to be embarrassed about it?’
For someone who had done more embarrassing things in front of him, she found her master’s behavior to be dramatic.
In the end, she shook her head and called for Shan Tung.
"Yes, city lord?" Shan Tung appeared within a few minutes and cupped his fist as a greeting.
"Start opening the stadium and inform the alchemists to get ready. The competition would begin once the seats are filled to the brim."
"Right away!"
In the blink of an eye, Shan Tung retreated and relayed the order.
Soon, the people outside became excited that they could finally enter the large stadium to witness the largest alchemy competition to date.
"Haha, I have waited for so long."
"You don’t say. It was a good thing I rushed to the city and bought a ticket. The current price of a ticket had already reached 5 medium-grade spirit stones."
"Hah, you shouldn’t look at that kind of pricing. 5 medium-grade spirit stone and you want a ticket? That’s a pipe dream. I heard some scalpers are selling it for 20 medium-grade spirit stones."
Hiss~
The people went numb after hearing that kind of information.
The scalpers were a little bit too gutsy.
Were they not afraid of being targeted and killed for charging such a sky-high price?
When the person who revealed the news noticed that some were skeptical and doubtful of his words, he snorted coldly.
"Hmph, did you forget about the execution of Elder Deng Cong?"
Sure enough, as soon as that incident was brought up, the people began to realize why the scalpers were so gutsy.
Nowadays, who would dare to break the city’s laws or attempt to be accused of being in cahoot with the demons?
"Ah, the scalpers are definitely making a killing then."
Many soon regretted not buying more tickets. After all, they would have made a bunch of money just by reselling tickets.
Moreover, they wouldn’t have to fear for their lives because scalpers such as them wouldn’t leave the city.
The spiritual qi in the city was abundant and one could easily improve their cultivation without needing to leave.
Not to mention, nobody would wait and camp for the scalper for a prolonged time. It was simply not worth the effort and scalpers also tend to be united.
Mess with one scalper and the other scalpers will soon notice you and refuse to sell you anything.
As the crowd continued to line up to hand their ticket to the administrative to enter the stadium, they failed to notice Ye Ming was secretly hiding among them.
’Damn, so even scalpers exist in the cultivation world. And they are blatantly extorting from others because of my actions. This is just unbelievable.’ Ye Ming was dumbfounded by the numerous events that stemmed from his actions.
All he wanted was to ensure the demons would learn their lesson and not try anything funny during the alchemy competition.
He never expected the situation to go out of hand and cause such an effect.
Just when Ye Ming was about to leave the line, a voice echoed from behind.
"You scumbag!"
Upon hearing that, Ye Ming’s eyes lit up.
MORE DRAMA!
"Where’s that scumbag? Where?" He quickly scanned around the crowd, hoping to search for that particular scumbag.
He was disappointed once already, so he needed something else to alleviate his soured mood.
Yet never once did Ye Ming expect that the one who was called scumbag was none other than him.
"The person in front dressed in a casual black uniform. I’m talking about you."
Stunned, Ye Ming raised an eyebrow and turned around.
"Ah, so it’s you?" He frowned and realized why he found the voice to be familiar. It was none other than Tao Wang’s Senior Sister, Ling Qiwei.
"When did I become a scumbag?" He questioned.
Seeing how nonchalant he was, Ling Qiwei gnashed her teeth.
She clenched her fist and shouted, "Junior Sister Tao Wang has been detained because of the incident with Chu Dong. Now that Chu Dong has been executed, there’s still no news of Junior Sister. You were there in the commotion as well, but after you went along with Daoist Piao Gan, nothing else was heard. If you’re not a scumbag, then what are you?"
"..."
Was she a born a yapper?
Ye Ming was starting to suspect he was having those protagonist halos of trouble.
