The Heavenly Dao System-Chapter 58: Jack Of All Trades
Having been reprimanded by Ye Qing Lei, the feeling was rather something new for Ye Ming.
Back on Earth, he was always alone and didn’t even have anyone close to him.
When he was little, he never got any guidance in the orphanage. He had grown up and left the orphanage to live alone because he could sense that he didn’t fit in with them.
In fact, the orphanage didn’t even seem to realize he had left them. It was as if he was an invisible person to them.
"I was wrong, Mother." Ye Ming bit his lips and realized why he didn’t feel any anger. His Mother reprimanded him in order to guide him and wish him well—something he never experienced.
When Ye Qing Lei noticed the cheeky smile and casualness from her son disappearing, she felt a pang in her heart.
Without hesitation, she quickly wrapped her arms around him and said, "It’s good to know that you’re wrong. Mother didn’t want to scold you too much. Mother only wants you to learn under my guidance and become proficient with it."
"I know... you wanted me to respect the herbs and the profession, right?" Ye Ming was not dumb or ignorant. He knew that being an expert at alchemy meant that she loved the profession. So to see him behaving without much respect to it, even a saint would get mad.
"It’s alright," Ye Qing Lei smiled lightly. To be fair, she still held the mindset that her son was adept with alchemy already.
After all, she had personally taught him in the past and her current lecture was supposed to be more like a refresher to him.
However, it was evident that Ye Ming truly didn’t want to regain much of his memory and hoped to start on a blank paper.
A blank paper as in the memory of a toddler but in the form of an adult.
"We’ll take a break first and have Qing Lan feed you the Phoenix meat." Ye Qing Lei suggested and decided to give him a break. Additionally, she realized that she had the chance to teach her son from scratch again.
’Maybe this was fate.’ She thought to herself. She felt somewhat nostalgia when she recalled the past Ye Ming coming to her and asking for guidance in some of the alchemy recipe he discovered by chance.
Back then, she didn’t have time to teach him much either when she was focused on the Alchemy Dao. She wanted to seek ways to improve further and discover more eccentric pills.
Thanks to her fixation on the alchemy, she inevitably neglected Ye Ming. It was then that Ye Ming started to shut himself and kept everything in his mind.
Therefore, she was equally ashamed and guilty when Ye Ming made that decision in the past. Although Ye Ming blamed Ye Xuan, she knew that the fault also lies in hers.
’I should also have a discussion with Xuan.’ Ye Qing Lei sighed softly, her eyes watching Ye Ming leaning on his chair as Qing Lan spoon-fed him.
Looking at her current son who was so expressive, she unconsciously flashed a warm smile.
She then teleported away, seeking Ye Xuan and forcing him to devise a lesson plan to teach their son properly. She refused to make the same mistake and lose this opportunity.
While Ye Qing Lei disappeared from the office, she failed to notice that Ye Ming was secretly glancing at her.
’See that, my past self. The chance you failed to get, I shall get it for you.’ Ye Ming mused inwardly. From the memory, he might not assimilate with them, but he did see his past self suffering in silence.
He knew it very well because that was precisely what he experienced on Earth. Maybe it was a coincidence or maybe it was just fate in work, but Ye Ming realized the regret he held in his past self.
"Young Master?" Amidst Ye Ming’s deep thought, Qing Lan suddenly called out to him. Her hand was still holding a spoon that contained some soup and phoenix meat.
"Yes?" Ye Ming snapped out of his daze and turned to her.
"Is the food not to your liking?" She asked in response.
"Ah, that’s not it." Chuckling, Ye Ming opened his mouth wide and allowed her to feed him.
Realizing that he was merely thinking something else, Qing Lan breathed a sigh of relief. She then blew softly on the soup to make sure it was good before feeding it to him.
Time quickly passed by, and Ye Ming realized 2 weeks had gone by.
In these 2 weeks, he was constantly being bombarded by alchemy and numerous Professions.
Professions such as talisman, formation, artifacts, researcher, etc.
Naturally, he didn’t study them like the average Joe where they gathered textbooks and read them.
Instead, he had his great Father who was so adamant and lively when learning that his son was going to be tortured by his wife in the learning profession.
It didn’t even take Ye Xuan more than a day to gather all the top Professions Cultivators to impart all their lifelong knowledge and experience into the memory orbs.
Usually, such knowledge and experience were extremely precious. Nobody would be ever willing to impart them to outsiders unless it was their direct descendant and they cherished them immensely.
However, who was Ye Xuan?
He was one of the Beyond Origin Realm Cultivators and the ruler of the Eternal Celestial Dimension.
To make things simpler to understand, it was the equivalent of an emperor requesting a commoner to give in their knowledge and experience.
Could the commoner refuse the emperor?
Of course, they could... if they ever seek to have their whole family generation executed.
"Mother, I’ve already absorbed all the memories and even succeeded in concocting a flawless pill. Can I be free now?" Ye Ming said with an exhausted tone. He was now supposedly a jack of all trades.
Despite his seemingly fatigued and exhausted tone, his face showed that he was very lively. Not even his mental or sanity was affected because his Mother was truly the god of alchemy.
The pills he was fed ensured he was always in top condition—something Ye Ming really despised.
