The Heavenly Dao System-Chapter 74: To The Lower World
The atmosphere turned silent after Ye Ming finished his words.
"How dare you!" Suddenly, one of Xun Lixue’s people raised their voices and pointed at Ye Ming. "Even if Senior is powerful, you shouldn’t act this overbearing."
BOOM!
Almost immediately, the head of this person exploded. It became a headless corpse and soon plopped to the ground.
"..."
Ye Ming was quiet upon witnessing such a scene. After all, he didn’t even get a chance to respond when Xun Lixue had personally made the move to kill her own people.
Such decisiveness and ruthlessness!
"I apologize for not disciplining my people well, Senior." Xun Lixue didn’t even bat an eyelid at the corpse as she pleaded forgiveness from Ye Ming.
’What a fucking idiot. Can’t you see I’m bowing my head because the other party is extremely unfathomable?’ She cursed silently, wanting nothing more than to eliminate all generations of the dead person.
What kind of brain cell did she recruit in her rank?
While Xun Lixue was furious by her people’s actions, Lin Qiuzhen, on the other hand was enlightened.
She took the opportunity to explain, "Senior, the Xun Clan has always operated on the basis of bullying the weak and obeying the strong. The person Xun Lixue killed was weak and said the wrong thing. Had the person who displeased the senior been stronger, Xun Lixue wouldn’t hesitate to change sides."
"..."
Xun Lixue was enraged by Lin Qiuzhen’s words.
"Hmph, don’t act like you’re a saint, Lin Qiuzhen." She snorted coldly and gave her side of the story. "Senior, please don’t be fooled by Lin Qiuzhen’s innocent appearance. She had killed a ton of weaklings in the secret realm for items that would bolster her Lin Clan."
As the two continued to banter back and forth, throwing dirt at each other, Ye Ming’s head began to hurt.
He quickly stomped his foot on the ground, instantly causing the two to be silent.
"Lan, do you have any suggestions for dealing with them?" Once the bickering stopped, Ye Ming finally got the chance to ask Qing Lan for an opinion.
To be honest, he knew fairness in the cultivation world was nothing but a joke.
Fairness?
There were no such things!
The only thing that was fair was strength—the power that could overthrow anything and make others grovel before you.
With that kind of power, their words were equivalent to the meaning of fair.
Thus, it brought Ye Ming to the current dilemma. He knew that whatever his decision was, he could easily erase one of the clans and make the other one rise.
However, he didn’t want to do that nor did he wish to take any sides.
Sure, Xun Lixue was ruthless as she killed without batting an eyelid. But wasn’t that the exact same thing as what he just did?
He had unintentionally killed a bunch of mortal men, but there was no guilt in his emotions. In fact, he was somewhat enjoying the feeling of being able to control a person’s life without any consequences.
Whenever he felt such a strong emotion, Ye Ming came to realize he was being forcefully adapting to the cultivation world’s logic.
"Young Master could make the two reconcile or have them duke it out." Qing Lan suddenly suggested. She was a maid and other than killing her enemies who harbored insidious thoughts toward the Young Master, she had never dealt with such a situation before.
After all, she only knew to kill and protect. She didn’t know how to make a judgment. Making a judgment was out of her jurisdiction.
"Junior Xun Lixue is willing to duke it out with Lin Qiuzhen." Xun Lixue suddenly stepped forward, her head remained low.
Qing Lan didn’t conceal her voice, so it was only natural that they could hear her.
"Senior, Xun Lixue’s cultivation realm is the same as mine, but I’ve been poisoned by her methods. It won’t be easy for me to confront her." Lin Qiuzhen voiced her unease. Had it not been for the poison that affected her combat prowess, she wouldn’t have been in such a dilemma.
Nevertheless, Ye Ming understood the overall situation.
One wanted to duke it out while the other clearly didn’t want to.
As he was wondering what to do, he suddenly became enlightened.
"Heh, I know how to resolve this." Ye Ming clasped his hands and gazed at the two so-called prodigies with an amused expression.
"I’ll make one single move toward the two of you, and if you can block it. Then you may leave. If you don’t, then there’s no need for further explanation."
Both Lin Qiuzhen and Xun Lixue frowned upon hearing that.
Wasn’t that equivalent to a death sentence?
Taking a move from the Senior... the chances of successfully blocking it were less than 1 percent.
They both had witnessed how fast the mortal men were killed.
They couldn’t even sense the danger, much less react in time to counter it.
"Senior, I’ve thought it over and believe reconciliation is the best." Xun Lixue swiftly suggested.
"I agreed with Xun Lixue, Senior. The two of us have known each other for so long. What can we not reconcile?" Lin Qiuzhen chimed in.
They would rather choose to reconcile for the time being and flee. Either way, the Xun Clan wouldn’t be able to eliminate their Lin Clan completely unless they wanted both to self-destruct.
After all, the Lin Clan still had many forces scattered across and still had some favors from hidden experts.
While Lin Qiuzhen held such a thought, Xun Lixue was more or less the same. There was no need to rush to annihilate the Lin Clan at the risk of their Xun Clan’s advancement.
She could easily bide her time and continued to rope in more hidden experts before making a move. Such a decision was many times better than trying to take a move from the mysterious-like Senior.
Although Qing Lan didn’t deliberately conceal her cultivation realm, both of them could determine and sense the extreme danger that came from her.
For such a dangerous person to be so humble and submissive toward Ye Ming, they didn’t dare to ponder his strength.
’Are they messing with me?’ Ye Ming didn’t know much about their thought process and wondered if they were taking him for some fool.
All he knew was that they first asked to fight but their fight took way too long. Hence, he suggested making one move to call it a day.
Yet less than a minute after his suggestion, they suddenly changed their mind and wanted to reconcile?
Like what kind of joke was that?
These two clearly could no longer bear each other’s existence!
So what was with their dumb lies about seeking to reconcile?
The situation turned somewhat stale as Ye Ming seemed to be in deep thought.
However, secretly, Ye Ming sent a sound transmission to Qing Lan, asking about the situation.
Although Qing Lan didn’t have much experience, she could somewhat relate to what it felt like to be facing a terrifying figure.
She replied in a sound transmission, "Young Master, I believe these two didn’t wish to offend you or be involved with you. They would probably reconcile and choose not to act against each other until a few years later with respect to you." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Hmm, is that so? Then have someone keep an eye on them and see if they really follow through. What I hate the most is people saying one thing than doing another." Ye Ming instructed.
Qing Lan kept quiet and didn’t make any movement.
Sometime later, Qing Lan took the lead in expressing Ye Ming’s intent.
Once Lin Qiuzhen and Xun Lixue heard of the arrangement, they were both stunned for a moment.
Without a doubt, Lin Qiuzhen was naturally the most welcoming of this arrangement. After all, it was time that they had gained—time that would allow them to produce an Immortal Emperor Realm.
Ye Ming knew this was somewhat biased so he threw one of his snacks toward Xun Lixue.
"Consider this snack my repayment for accidentally intervening with your matter." He said calmly.
Xun Lixue didn’t even need to take a glance at the snack to sense a powerful residual lingering around it.
Without hesitation, she knelt on the ground and thanked Ye Ming. She was very sensible and knew when to bow or kneel.
Satisfied, Ye Ming turned to Lin Qiuzhen, who was clearly envious of her. "Your Lin Clan could be considered safe for the time being due to my intervention. I’m sure you know about it deep down."
"Yes, Senior." Lin Qiuzhen bowed her head slightly. She didn’t kneel down, but it was whatever.
"Let’s go," Ye Ming instructed, not calling Qing Lan’s name, lest these two might overhear it and attempt to investigate her.
Qing Lan received the order, activated the concealment, and controlled their flying ship.
Their objective: to the lower world.
Ye Ming had delayed long enough and realized posturing was equally great but also tiring.
’I should posture when I’m more comfortable in dealing with people.’ Ye Ming knew his demeanor was lacking a lot, and could only use that as a lesson for the future.
