Chapter 84: He’s Here

While Tang Han was dragged away like some dead corpse, Li Hua returned her attention to Ye Ming.

"Daoist Dao, for the inconveniences that were caused to you. Our manager said to give you this gold card." She said, and retrieved a sparkly gold card.

Unlike the status of a VIP customer, the gold card represented a close friendship with the Bixiao Restaurant and would receive the highest benefits.

No matter what branch he went to, as long as he revealed the gold card, the branch must show him utmost respect and courtesy.

Ye Ming didn’t mind Li Hua’s action in wanting to establish a close relationship with him. After all, she had witnessed his power and she would be labeled as foolish if she just stood still.

"Well, I never blamed you." Ye Ming accepted the gold card and tossed it into his spatial ring. His action made everyone surprised. The nonchalance and demeanor with which he reacted in front of the gold card membership was too domineering.

"Anyway, is the food done yet? I’m a bit starving." He then rubbed his stomach and inquired. Thanks to the clown’s action, he wanted some food to calm himself.

"O-Of course," Li Hua snapped out of her daze and hurriedly had people bring him a row of dishes.

In the blink of an eye, the empty table was filled to the maximum. There was barely any space left on the table.

When Ye Ming saw the numerous dishes, his mouth twitched.

’Are they feeding a person or a pig?’ He wondered silently.

Although all food could easily be consumed as nutrients for cultivation, Ye Ming didn’t have any intention of doing so. He simply wanted to enjoy food like a normal human.

"Do the two of you still care for lunch or leave like the others?" Without a choice, Ye Ming turned to the two women and asked.

When the two of them heard the invitation, they were baffled.

Jing An glanced at Zhu Mingyue, and vice versa. In the end, they nodded their head and agreed to join him. After all, they didn’t follow Tang Han but rather joined to fill their stomach.

It was only Tang Han’s wishful thinking that the two even cared about his so-called inheritance.

As the two joined the table, outside the restaurant, Tang Han was still unconscious.

"What a useless brat. I’ve thought I could have used his body to be reborn but he managed to get himself crippled." Deep inside Tang Han’s soul, a black wisp of smoke snorted coldly.

This black wisp of smoke was the inheritance that Tang Han thought he had obtained. But in fact, it was him who deceived the latter and occupied a place deep in his soul.

Originally, it intended to wait until Tang Han cultivated to the Nascent Soul realm before taking over the body. "Seems like I can only deconstruct this brat’s body and cut off his soul to repair the spiritual core."

The process was painful, but the black wisp of smoke couldn’t care less about Tang Han. Without even giving him a choice, the black wisp of smoke began the process.

A shattered spiritual core—if repaired quickly, there was still hope of recovering. With its expertise, it could definitely achieve the result.

Tang Han’s body began to spasm wildly, startling the nearby cultivators in the streets.

"Jeez, what’s with this bastard?"

"Who knows? He got tossed out like some trash by the restaurant."

"I can see it’s a disciple of the Crimson Sword Sect. I bet the sect is beyond embarrassed to have such a trash disciple."

While the passerby commented ruthlessly without any qualms. On the upper floor, Ye Ming was intrigued by the situation.

’Hoh, so another soul was indeed laying low in Tang Han’s body.’ Ye Ming mused inwardly. He was quite curious when he overheard their conversation from earlier about Tang Han managing to obtain some inheritance.

He simply took a glance and could already tell Tang Han was never destined to achieve anything good. This was especially so when he was such a narrow-minded folk and full of lust.

How was it possible for him to ascend unless he was some protagonist with thick plot armor?

Now that Ye Ming had witnessed the black wisp of smoke coming forward to repair the shattered spiritual core, he wondered what the person was up to.

Although Ye Ming could easily destroy the black wisp of smoke, he refrained from doing so. After all, where could he enjoy the drama if he kept ending it on the spot?

"Daoist Dao?" Amidst his thought process, Zhu Mingyue suddenly called out to him.

Retracting his gaze, he simply ordered the Heavenly Dao to keep an eye on Tang Han.

"Yes?" He raised an eyebrow and began to address her.

"I-I want to ask where did Daoist Dao came from." Zhu Mingyue asked nervously. "Please don’t think I’m trying to investigate you. I’m just curious how you could suppress a nascent soul."

"Mingyue!" Jing An suddenly called out her first name, her expression darkening slightly. Unlike Zhu Mingyue’s frank attitude, Jing An knew such questions were extremely invasive.

"Please forgive Sister Mingyue. She has a naturally curious personality, Daoist Dao." Jing An cupped her fist and apologized on her behalf.

"Fret not." Ye Ming raised his hand slightly, indicating that it was alright.

Then, he shifted his focus to Zhu Mingyue. "Mingyue, right? How about this? I answer your question and you answer mine. It’s only fair, right?"

Zhu Mingyue readily nodded in agreement.

"I came from above," Ye Ming pointed at the sky and stated.

Jing An: ...

Zhu Mingyue: ...

Li Hua: ...

Because the food was too much, Ye Ming had also invited Li Hua to join them, to which the latter agreed without much hesitation. Nevertheless, she had been staying silent because of her status.

Yet she never expected her silence to intensify any further.

Ye Ming didn’t care whether they believed him or not. At least, he knew he was speaking the truth.

"Alright, my turn. Why is everyone flocking to the Fushang Territory?" He questioned. Honestly, his perception had long spread across everywhere unintentionally. And he couldn’t find anything interesting.

Little did Ye Ming know, his question simply startled the three women at the table.

They glanced at each other and wondered if their hearings were wrong.

"Um, the spiritual qi in the city is superior compared to all else. Plus, there are many activities and opportunities where cultivators could improve." Zhu Mingyue was the first to speak up.

Following right after was Jing An, who said, "Many Holy Sects and other sects sent their fellow disciples over here to train them. To cross the Fushang Territory is the first trial."

Upon hearing that, Ye Ming nodded in understanding.

"Natural selection." He commented. It was a natural selection to see who was the best. It didn’t matter what kind of method the disciples used to cross the Fushang Territory. So long as they succeeded, it meant they were capable.

Soon, he turned his attention to Li Hua. She had yet to input anything and was behaving like a mute.

Li Hua flashed a bittersweet smile. "I’m just an employee and came here to work in the branch."

Nodding, Ye Ming didn’t find it surprising. After all, Li Hua was only in the Foundation Establishment.

"Indeed, a Foundation Establishment realm being here without any background or backer is courting death." He muttered, unaware that his comment caused the rest to twitch their brows.

Was it right for him to say that?

However, when they recalled how effortlessly Ye Ming had suppressed the Nascent Soul cultivator. They suddenly found his words to be reasonable.

Clearly, Ye Ming was concealing his high cultivation base.

Yes, none of them believed Ye Ming was truly in the Qi Refinement realm anymore!

Just when the conversation was about to go on, a group of cultivators ascended the stairs.

Each one of them was in the Nascent Soul realm, with one of them even being in the Spirit Severing realm.

What made others alarmed wasn’t their cultivation base alone.

Instead, it was their uniform that symbolized guards of the Fushang Territory.

Nearly every customer was astonished and paused their business as they glanced at the group.

"He’s here." Amidst the tense atmosphere, a familiar voice echoed.

Upon hearing that voice, Ye Ming raised an eyebrow. Was this person courting death?

The voice belonged to none other than Lang Jian—someone he had shooed away just a while ago.

"Are you trying to incur my wrath?" Ye Ming turned around and coldly remarked.

He was already being magnanimous by letting him go earlier because his items were indeed destroyed by him. However, that didn’t mean he was just going to let the other party step over him.

"Senior Dao, please don’t be mistaken." Lang Jian panicked and hurriedly explained, "Your companion here said she know you and wanted to ask me to guide them."

As soon as he said that, Ye Ming saw two women emerging from behind, who were blocked by the group of unknown cultivators.

"Ah, so it’s you two?" He clicked his tongue when he spotted Tao Wang and Ling Qiwei.
