The Hehuan Sect Was Squeezed Dry for Ten Thousand Years, but It Became a Sacred Ground?-Chapter 105
Chapter 105
Duanmu Yao quietly made her way back to her personal disciple’s cave dwelling.
By the time she returned, her movements were no longer hindered. Moving softly, she noticed that her mother was still resting in the inner chamber, which eased her mind considerably.
Though she had mentioned certain matters to her father, she still wasn’t fully prepared to face them head-on.
The reason such a rebellious thought had suddenly crossed her mind was twofold.
First, Duanmu Yao genuinely believed this was a heaven-sent opportunity.
Any female cultivator with a heart set on the Dao would find it impossible to resist temptation after learning about her father’s true nature.
She was close to her mother and naturally wanted to consider her well-being.
If one day, mother and daughter could ascend to immortality together and live eternally side by side—now that would be the greatest blessing.
Second, Duanmu Yao knew all too well from her mother’s behavior over the years that she held no affection for the emperor—only disgust. She even loathed life in the imperial palace.
Duanmu Yao wanted her mother to experience true happiness and joy.
Of course, all of this would have to wait until her own cultivation far surpassed her mother’s.
With these thoughts in mind, Duanmu Yao tiptoed back to her room and fell into an exhausted slumber.
Though her physical stamina could recover, the mental fatigue after such madness was intangible.
Only Ning Chen’s Supreme Sun Divine Body was so absurdly overpowered that it essentially reset his state, leaving him completely unaffected.
What Duanmu Yao didn’t know, however, was that Tantai Yuruo, who had pretended to be lightly sleeping with her back turned, hadn’t closed her eyes at all.
…
By the time the sky brightened, Duanmu Yao finally woke again.
Refreshed and full of energy, she stepped out of her room, only to find Tantai Yuruo waiting for her in the main hall, a table full of dishes laid out before her.
“Mother? Why are you still here?” Duanmu Yao was surprised.
Shouldn’t an inner sect elder have plenty of duties to attend to?
Hearing this, Tantai Yuruo forced a faint smile, doing her best to appear as gentle and composed as usual.
“Nothing urgent, so I decided not to go out today.”
“I remember how much A’Yao loved the dishes I made when you were little. Back then, the strict rules of the palace meant I rarely had the chance to cook for you.”
“Today, I suddenly thought of it and prepared this meal. Would you like to try it and see if it tastes the same as before?”
Duanmu Yao’s eyes swept over the dishes on the table.
Her face immediately lit up with joy.
Many of these were her childhood favorites, her mother had remembered them all!
“Thank you, Mother! I’ll eat every last bite!” Duanmu Yao hurried over and sat down, answering eagerly.
Though she had long since reached the point where she could sustain herself without food, eating was still a matter of desire rather than necessity.
She eagerly picked up her chopsticks and sampled the most familiar dishes first.
Her eyes sparkled instantly.
The taste of home, just like before!
Yet, as she watched her daughter eat with such relish, Tantai Yuruo felt a pang in her heart.
“A’Yao, how did you sleep last night?” she asked softly, as if casually—though a faint tremble lingered in her voice.
Duanmu Yao’s cheeks were stuffed full as she mumbled, “Really well!”
“Any discomfort in your body?”
“None at all! I feel great!”
To prove just how well-rested and energetic she was, Duanmu Yao abruptly stood up, before even swallowing her food, and hopped around childishly a couple of times.
Tantai Yuruo’s heart nearly leaped out of her chest in alarm.
“Alright, alright, I believe you! Stop that!” she urged hastily.
After what had happened last night, she should be resting properly!
Duanmu Yao giggled and sat back down.
“Mother, I’m at the Golden Core stage now! Even though I’ve reverted to my younger appearance, I’m not a little girl anymore. How could I not sleep well?”
She wanted to make it clear—her mother still treated her like a child, and that wouldn’t do.
Though her body had regressed, she had grown up.
Tantai Yuruo picked at her own food, placing a few bites in her bowl but not eating.
“A’Yao, since arriving here, I’ve noticed the Demon Sealing Tower in the sect is quite mysterious. Have you been there? What’s inside?”
Duanmu Yao stiffened for a moment before hurriedly stuffing more rice into her mouth to mask her unease.
“I’ve been there, but there’s nothing special inside. Just a regular training ground.”
She would’ve preferred to deny ever entering, but anyone who asked around would know she was a frequent visitor—lying was pointless.
“Is that so?” Tantai Yuruo nodded, saying nothing more.
Relieved to have temporarily dodged the question, Duanmu Yao exhaled inwardly.
But her chopsticks moved faster now, shoveling food into her mouth.
The atmosphere felt subtly off, and she wanted to finish quickly and leave.
Yet, not long after—
Clatter.
Her chopsticks fell onto the table.
Her head slumped forward.
Tantai Yuruo reacted swiftly, catching her daughter’s forehead with her palm before it could hit the table.
Looking down at the unconscious girl, she sighed.
Divine Driftwood Poison.
This was the drug she had mixed into the meal.
As the name suggested, even an immortal would fall into a deep slumber after consuming it, and upon waking, remember nothing of what happened before.
But it caused no harm to the body.
In the past, she had used it in tandem with another secret medicine on the emperor whenever he visited her palace.
Tantai Yuruo stood, bent down, and carried Duanmu Yao back to bed. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
After such an ordeal, how could she not rest properly?
Her cool, slender fingertips brushed against her daughter’s fair cheek as she whispered, “A’Yao, don’t blame me.”
“Sleep for a day. Mother will seek justice for you.”
…
Late at night, in the deep silence.
A graceful, alluring figure slipped out of Duanmu Yao’s cave dwelling, darting across the mountain forests toward the Demon Sealing Tower.
…
“She’s here?”
Ning Chen, who had long locked his perception onto Tantai Yuruo’s movements, murmured to himself.
Then, he glanced down at Li Yiya, who had been lying stiffly atop him earlier but was now too stuffed to move.
Smack!
A sharp slap landed on her plump backside, sending ripples through her flesh.
“Alright, our guest has arrived. Time to prepare.”
“Mmm~” Li Yiya let out a lazy, reluctant whine, swaying slightly.
But—
Smack!
Another merciless slap.
“Ah!” She arched with a gasp, her body trembling uncontrollably.
“Yes, Master~”
Her voice dripped with honeyed obedience as a bloody mist enveloped her.
When it dissipated, her figure had shrunk significantly.
Fair skin, a flat chest, and a delicate, flawless face, who else could it be but Duanmu Yao?
‘Duanmu Yao’ (Li Yiya) turned with a bright, signature smile, her voice sweet and slightly coquettish as she called out:
“Daddy~”
Ning Chen remained expressionless. “Enough. Stop fooling around.”
“Go hide. Don’t forget your role. You remember what to do next, don’t you?”
“Every detail is crystal clear~”
As if imagining the amusing scene about to unfold, ‘Duanmu Yao’ (Li Yiya) licked her lips, her eyes brimming with mischief.
With a wave of his hand, Ning Chen dismissed her.
Watching Tantai Yuruo’s figure rapidly approaching in his mental projection, a faint smirk curled his lips.
Now, everything was ready.
Coming to settle the score with him?
Very well.
Let’s settle it properly.
If the daughter is at fault, the mother must bear the blame.
Duanmu Yao had sinned by slaughtering so many of his ‘kin’—it was only right to have a thorough discussion with her mother.
