The Heiress' Revenge-Chapter 19
D A N T E
I stormed out of Ariana’s room, my blood boiling.
Angelo, that little bastard had laid hands on my wife.
I pulled out my phone and dialed Marco, my head of security.
"Find Angelo," I growled the moment he answered. "I don’t care where he is bring him to me."
I hung up before Marco could respond, my hands clenched into fists at my sides.
The urge to break every bone in his body, his fucking face, shattering that pretty boy face he thinks he have making sure he never touched Ariana again.
He may have done that while they were married but not now not ever, she was mine and he doesn’t have the fucking rights to even as much look at her.
I wasn’t suppose to let myself fall for her, it was never part of the plan, I hated that I sees so much knowing that in the end she deserved someone better, someone that isn’t me or Angelo.
Ariana wasn’t supposed to mean anything to me but after that night, god she had wrecked all my rules, she was mine to claim.
The sight of her cheek made me want to burn the world down?
I paced the hallway, running a hand through my hair in frustration.
"Dante."
I turned and Ariana stood there, now dressed in simple jeans and a sweater her hair was still damp from the shower that damn mark still red on her pale skin.
"Whatever you’re planning," she said quietly, "don’t."
I stepped closer. "He hit you."
"And that’s my problem, not yours."
Wrong answer.
I grabbed her arm, pulling her against me. "Everything about you is my problem now or did you forget your position in my life?"
Ariana tried to push me away. "I’m not some object you own!"
"Then what are you?" I demanded, tightening my grip. "Why defend him? Do you still love Angelo?"
She froze.
Didn’t answer.
The silence was worse than any words.
Rage, hot and dark, flooded my veins and before I could think, I slammed her against the wall, my body pinning hers.
"You listen to me," I growled. "You. Are. Mine. That contract you signed? That ring on your finger? They mean something and I won’t let you forget it."
"Let go of me" she tries to wiggle herself out from my hold.
"I said let go—"
Then I crushed my lips to hers.
This wasn’t like our wedding kiss polite for the cameras, it was raw possessive and claiming.
Ariana gasped against my mouth for one terrifying second, I thought she’d push me away.
Then her hands fisted in my shirt, pulling me closer.
I smirked against Ariana’s lips as she kissed me back she could deny it all she wanted, but her body didn’t lie and knowing that she wanted me just as much as I wanted her gave me satisfaction.
Just as I was about to deepen the kiss, my phone rang.
I pulled away reluctantly, keeping one hand on Ariana’s waist as I answered.
"Marco," I said, my voice rough.
"We have him, boss," Marco’s voice came through the phone. "Angelo’s at the warehouse. Should we start without you?"
A slow smile spread across my face. "No Wait for me. I want to handle this myself."
I hung up and turned back to Ariana her face had gone pale, her eyes wide with realization.
"You...you’re really going after him?" she whispered.
I straightened shirt, already planning what I’d do to Angelo. "He touched what’s mine. There are consequences."
Ariana’s breath hitched tears filling her eyes as a lone one escaped. "Please, Dante, don’t hurt him."
The words hit me like a slap my entire body went rigid.
"You’re begging for him?" My voice was dangerously quiet.
Ariana wiped at her tears, but they kept falling. "I just...I don’t want anyone getting hurt because of me."
Lies.
She still cared about him even after everything Angelo had done, even after he cheated on her with her fucking best friend, even after he treated her like crap, like she never mattered, even after he’d hit her, she was protecting him.
The realization burned like acid in my gut.
I stepped closer, cupping her face roughly. "Look at me."
She did, her eyes swimming with tears.
"That asshole hit you," I said slowly, making sure she understood every word. "He disrespected you and he disrespected me. And now, he’ll pay for it."
Ariana shook her head. "Dante, please—"
"This isn’t your problem to worry about," I cut her off, releasing her.
Her tears only made me angrier every sob felt like a knife twisting in my chest because they weren’t for me.
They were for him. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
I turned and walked away before I did something I’d regret.
"Dante!" she called after me.
I didn’t look back knowing that she’d only beg on behalf of him.
My jawline tightened as I walked out of the house, my heart rate escalating.
I drove to the warehouse in short while, my blood boiling as I stepped out of the car and walked it.
As I walked inside I see him In the center of the room sat and tied to a chair, his face already bruised from Marco’s fist.
My shoes clicked against the concrete as I walked toward him my hawking tightening.
Angelo looked up as I approached his left eye was swollen shut blood trickled from his split lip.
"Uncle," he croaked.
I didn’t answer but instead I drew back my fist and punched him square in the face.
Angelo’s head snapped back, blood spraying from his nose.
"You hit my wife," I growled.
Angelo spat blood onto the floor. "She was my wife first."
Another punch but this time to his ribs, I heard something crack and he screamed, doubling over as much as the ropes allowed.
"And now she’s mine," I said, grabbing his hair to force him to look at me. "You will never go near her again. You will never speak to her again. The only reason I’m not killing you right now is because we share blood."
Angelo laughed then, a wet, broken sound. "Ariana will never love a man like you."
I froze.
"You think you won?" Angelo continued, grinning through bloody teeth. "She has no idea what kind of monster she married. But she’ll find out. And when she does..."
I hit him again and again until my knuckles were raw and Angelo could barely lift his head.
But his words kept echoing in my mind.
She’ll never love a man like you.
She has no idea what kind of monster you are.
Deep down, I knew he was right.
Ariana didn’t know the things I’d done, the blood on my hands, the darkness in my soul.
And when she found out?
She’d look at me the same way she looked at Angelo, much more worst.
The thought hurt more than I wanted to admit.
"Take him to a hospital," I told Marco, wiping my bloody hands on a handkerchief.
As I walked out of the warehouse, Angelo’s laughter followed me.
Because the truth hurt.
And no amount of violence could change it.
