Chapter 114: A Place Called Home

Some time later.

Jinhoo returned home with mixed feelings swirling inside him.

"Hah... what should I do... bringing Lightnova to them... I’ll have to think about that later... for now, I need to focus on the IMF issue..."

He muttered quietly as he walked toward the front door of his house.

Without knocking, he opened it and stepped inside casually.

The familiar warmth of the house greeted him.

Inside, Donghyun was sitting on the sofa, watching a movie. The flickering light from the screen reflected softly on his face, showing how immersed he was in what he was watching.

Jinhoo didn’t even bother changing his clothes.

He walked over and dropped himself onto the sofa right beside Donghyun.

Donghyun glanced at him briefly.

"Hm? What’s wrong, hyung? You look worried."

Jinhoo leaned back, spreading his arms across the sofa as he relaxed his body.

"Hah... it’s nothing... just some people annoyed me today."

"Is that so? Then..."

Donghyun reached over and grabbed a can of cola from the table.

He handed it to Jinhoo.

"Drink this first. You must be really tired, hyung."

Jinhoo glanced at the can before taking it.

’...tired, huh... I guess I really am tired...’

He thought silently.

He opened the can and drank it in one go.

After finishing it, he casually used his power.

A dark blue portal opened beside him.

He tossed the empty can into it.

The can disappeared instantly.

Jinhoo used his power as if it were nothing more than a trash bin.

"By the way... where is everyone else?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Donghyun, still focused on the movie, answered without looking away.

"Hm? Oh, they’re training in the forest behind the house. Mira is there watching them."

A few moments later.

Jinhoo walked toward the forest behind the house.

From a distance, rumbling sounds and faint tremors could be heard.

’Looks like they’re training pretty intensely...’

He continued walking until he spotted Mira sitting on a rock, watching Min-seo and So-ah spar against each other.

Jinhoo turned his gaze toward the two.

They were clashing fiercely.

Each collision of their power caused the ground to shake slightly.

’are they training... or actually fighting...? are they still arguing about that ice cream earlier?’

He thought, confused.

He walked over and sat beside Mira.

Mira immediately turned toward him when she noticed his presence.

"Ah! Oppa!"

"Hi," Jinhoo replied with a gentle smile.

He looked back at Min-seo and So-ah.

"What do you think? Are they training or fighting?"

Mira observed them carefully.

"Hm... I don’t think this is just a simple spar anymore."

"Huh... I see... well, I’ll let them be for now... until they get tired on their own."

Jinhoo then glanced at Mira.

"By the way... it’s rare for you to just sit and watch them train like this."

Mira looked ahead, her expression softening.

"I was just... feeling bored. I miss my old friends."

Jinhoo raised an eyebrow slightly.

"You mean?"

"Do you still remember when you first met me and Donghyun, oppa?"

"Of course I remember."

"There were a lot of kids like me there... I wonder where they are now..."

Jinhoo fell silent for a moment.

’back then, I brought all the kids I saved to an orphanage... there were too many... there was no way I could take care of them all myself...’

He thought.

"So... you want to see them?"

Mira smiled gently.

"If oppa allows it... then I’d really like to."

’even if she says it like that... I’m sure she really wants to see them...’

"Then let’s go see them."

Mira’s eyes widened.

Shock.

Then joy.

"Really!? Thank you, oppa!"

She immediately hugged him tightly.

Jinhoo could only smile.

A while later.

Jinhoo was driving his SUV.

Donghyun sat in the passenger seat, quietly staring out the window.

In the back seat, Mira sat with her seatbelt on, her excitement impossible to hide.

She was practically glowing with happiness.

Donghyun finally spoke.

"Why do I have to come too... my movie wasn’t even finished..."

Jinhoo smiled faintly.

"Don’t be like that. Mira was the one who suggested you come."

Donghyun sighed and returned his gaze to the window.

Mira, meanwhile, continued smiling brightly.

Some time later.

They arrived at an orphanage on the outskirts of Seoul.

Jinhoo parked the car, and they all stepped out.

Mira was the first to jump out.

She spun around happily, even hopping slightly.

"Oppa! Hurry up! Everyone must be waiting for us!"

Donghyun stepped out and closed the car door.

He sighed as he looked at her.

"Mira, don’t run around too much. You’ll trip and fall."

But Mira ignored him completely.

Jinhoo walked toward the building.

He glanced at Donghyun.

"Come on. What are you waiting for? Your old friends must miss you."

"Uh... alright..."

Donghyun finally followed.

When they reached the entrance, Mira pushed the door open and rushed inside.

Jinhoo and Donghyun followed behind.

Inside, a young woman stood as the caretaker of the orphanage.

She had brown hair tied into a braid.

She turned toward them.

"Hm? Ah! Mr. Jinhoo!"

She quickly approached him.

"Welcome back, Mr. Jinhoo."

Jinhoo smiled slightly.

"How are they doing, Ms. Ji-eun?"

Ji-eun turned toward the hallway.

"Kids! You have visitors! Come out of your rooms!"

As soon as she called out—

Doors opened.

Many children rushed out excitedly.

One of them pointed at Jinhoo.

"Oh! Isn’t that Jinhoo hyung!?"

"Where!?"

"There!!"

Jinhoo smiled.

The next moment—

They all ran toward him.

He barely had time to react.

One of the kids jumped onto him.

Jinhoo lost his balance and fell to the floor.

"U-ugh... kids, please go easy..."

Ji-eun smiled warmly.

"Ever since you brought them here, they’ve always talked about you."

Jinhoo glanced at her.

"Really?"

He then looked at the kids.

"Is that true?"

"Yes!!"

They all answered in unison.

On the other side.

Mira had found one of her old friends.

They ran toward each other and embraced tightly.

"Mira! I really missed you..."

"Rumi... me too..."

They held onto each other, tears forming in their eyes.

Donghyun watched them from afar.

A soft smile appeared on his face.

He then walked into one of the children’s rooms.

Inside, the walls were filled with drawings.

Simple drawings.

But filled with emotion.

He stepped closer.

On the papers, there were countless drawings of Jinhoo.

As Indigo.

Wearing a mask.

Standing protectively in front of children.

Fighting off bad people.

In one drawing, Jinhoo was even depicted wearing a hero’s costume.

Donghyun chuckled softly.

Then his eyes moved to another drawing.

Jinhoo had golden wings.

Radiant.

Almost divine.

Donghyun murmured quietly.

"They really see Jinhoo hyung as a hero..."

He paused.

Then smiled faintly.

"Yeah... to me... he’s my hero too..."

Right at that moment—

A voice came from the doorway.

"Donghyun?"

Donghyun immediately turned.

His eyes widened.

Standing there was a girl.

Around the same age as him.

With long, elegant white hair that reached past her shoulders.

"Myuri...?"

Her eyes trembled.

Tears formed instantly.

She ran toward him and embraced him tightly.

"Donghyun... I missed you..."

She cried as she held onto him.

Donghyun gently hugged her back.

"Yeah... I missed you too..."

Myuri.

The girl Donghyun had been searching for all this time.

His old school friend.

And—

The one he loved.
