The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 68: The Blight Ourbreak
The moment everyone arrived in the guild, they were met with moans and cries of pain and sorrow. Dozens of people were injured, dying, or were infected. Healers were rushing all over the place, trying their best to aid in any way they could.
Alchemists were working their asses off brewing potions to help both the patients and the people actively fighting against the Blight. It was so tiring that a few almost passed out.
"Kai! Oh, thank goodness you’re here! Please help us! We’re doing our best to prevent the blight from spreading throughout their body, but it’s not enough, especially when we need to tend to the wounded. Please, use your magic to help them!" A healer begged.
"Stand back, I’ll handle this," Kai reassured them. He activated his mana and healed everyone in the room. The people plagued with the blight were cured, those who were injured were healed, and even lost limbs grew back.
"A miracle!"
"T-This is a blessing!"
"Thank you so much!"
"Thank you, Kai. I don’t know what we would have done without you." The mage bowed.
"I’m glad I was able to help. But I have to help out there as well. Gwen, Amaya, let’s go!"
Outside was a war zone. People were getting mauled left and right regardless of age, gender, or occupation. It was a gruesome sight.
"Hey, Gwen, wanna test out your new abilities now?" Kai asked with a smirk, knowing that she was ready to kill every last infected in sight.
"You know I am!"
"Then let’s get to it!"
"GRROWWRRRR" A blight screamed on a rooftop.
"Hehe, my first prey." Gwen leaped into the air, shifting into her draongkin form, and clawed the blight’s neck off.
"Wow. Guess she doesn’t need her staff." Kai said he held it in his hand for her.
"Try to keep up. By the time this is over, I’ll have more kills than you." Amaya challenged him to a bet.
"Oho! Is that so? You’re on!"
Amaya went left, Kai went right, and Gwen stayed straight, killing every blight in sight.
As Kai cut down the infected, he spotted a group of adventurers backed into a corner with over one hundred infected around them, clearly overwhelming the group.
"Tank, keep them back, my spell is almost complete!" A mage shouted.
"Hurry up! I can’t hold them back for long!" The tank urged, losing strength every second.
An archer was right above them, firing arrows from the roof. "Shit! I’m almost out of arrows! Hurry up with that spell!"
"Don’t rush me!"
A swordsman who was keeping the infected off the mage’s back was overwhelmed, being tackled to the ground by the raging corpses. "Aghhhghgg!"
"Noooo!"
Kai swooped in, effortlessly cutting down all of the infected before they could do any more harm. Once he was done, he healed all four of them before leaving.
"Who the hell was that guy?"
"I don’t know."
"I owe that man a drink."
---
Gwen was having the time of her life. The years of pain and emptiness she felt had all vanished as if they never existed. She didn’t care about her past anymore; she didn’t care how her people looked at her, all she cared about was experiencing the power she was supposed to have.
She traveled through the town as a red streak of flames, dismantling every infected in her path while helping others who needed it.
"GROWLLL!!" An infected jumped at her.
"Shut up!" She kicked its face off.
Another one crawled at her and chomped on her arm, only for its teeth to shatter on her scales.
"Sorry, but that won’t work on me." Placing her hand in its mouth, she blew the creature up from the inside.
"Hahaha! This is so fun! I need more!" Jumping up into the air, using a magic circle to stand on, she cast a spell. "Flame Rain!" Hundreds of fireballs rained from the sky, killing every blight in sight.
"Hey! Watch it!" Amaya yelled as she cut down the infected where she was.
Behind her was a long trail of mutilated infected that fell by her blade, none of them standing a chance.
She leaped from building to building, cutting the ones that were on the roofs, that entered homes, that were dragging civilians away, and that were chasing her.
She continued to move in one direction, tons of infected trailing behind her. Once she reached a dead end, she smiled, turning around.
"Gale Blade: Slashing Wind." Just like how the wind blows past anything, Amaya flew past every infected that followed her. Once she sheathed her sword, hundreds of heads went flying.
"Show off." Kai smiled, landing next to her.
"342." She smirked. "Beat that, sucker."
"Fuck! I only got 295." It was Kai’s loss.
"668. Looks like I win. What do I win exactly?" Gwen came down from her magic circle in the sky and landed in Kai’s arms.
Amaya pouted. "No fair! You weren’t even in this competition. It was only between me and Kai."
"Yup, sorry, Gwen, your points don’t count."
"Ugh, you’re no fun."
"So, is that all of them in this area?" Amaya asked, sniffing around to see if she could smell anymore.
"I saw a bunch of them around the main gate. We could go over there to kill some more if you guys want to."
Kai shrugged. "I don’t mind. More points for me."
"Not like it’s gonna matter. You’ll still lose to me anyway." Amaya smirked, thinking Kai was talking about their bet.
He laughed, smiling back. ’I wasn’t talking about those points, though.’
"Last one there buys dinner!" Gwen shouted.
"Not me!" Amaya took off.
Kai just stood there. "They do know I’m a Tier-10 warrior, right? You know what, it’s fine, I’ll make them happy and get there last. I’m the one who pays for dinner all the time anyway." After chuckling a bit, he took off, making sure not to go as fast as he normally would to make it look like he lost.
’They’ll know I lost on purpose, but whatever. It’s the thought that counts.’
