The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 74: Anyone named Carl is just an extra
"So when do you plan on going to Snore’s house. Wait, can we backup and focus on the guy’s name? Like snore? Who in their right mind would name their child that?" Gwen wondered.
"Someone named Boreman." Amaya pointed out.
"You have a point."
"So, Kai, are we headed to the guild?" Amaya asked
"Yeah, you know, the usual. As for Snore, I plan on just letting things happen on their own. How cool will it be when the knights arrest us after some lie Snore told, only for them to realize that he fucked up. Ha, the look on his parents’ faces will be absolute cinema!" Kai extended his arms to the side and imagined a giant explosion going off behind him.
"Okay, weirdass."
"Yeah, you’re weird."
"No! You guys aren’t seeing the vision!"
"I’m a Catkin, I have great vision." Amaya pointed out.
"Yeah, so do I." Gwen shifted her eye into its dragon form.
"No, that’s not what I...AGHH...Nevermind. Let’s just go to the guild."
---
"Are you sure we’re at the right place?" Kai asked Amaya. "Because we’re looking for a normal building, not a fucking castle."
The adventurer’s guild in Ashenfall was a massive building that resembled a small castle. It sat right in the heart of the city, and tons of people were going in and out of the place. Kai had never seen such an elegant building for an occupation as simple as adventuring.
"Hey! You going in or what? Stop blocking people’s paths!" Someone yelled.
Kai stepped to the side. "My bad, man." There was no need to get upset because it was pretty annoying when people were in the way of things, so he understood the man’s frustration.
The inside of the place was just as amazing as the outside. There were areas dedicated to a specific thing, so the place wouldn’t get cluttered or tashed like the other guilds Kai had been in.
The main hall was where all the work took place, finding a quest, turning in a quest, registering, getting promoted, and so on. The left hall was the diner, simple as that. The right hall was the training area, which also served as the place for promotion tests.
"Woahh, so fancy." Amaya’s eyes sparkled as she looked around, taking in the scenery. She had never been in a guild like this before, and it showed.
It wasn’t just her either. Kai and Gwen were both looking around with sparkles in their eyes as they too had never seen anything like this before.
"Heh, look at those newbies."
"I was like that when I first came in here as well."
"Ahh, good times."
"Hold up, those girls are hot as fuck." The guys commented
"Do you see that guy? He’s so sexy." The girls drooled.
"So what?!" A bald man with a muscular build holding a greatsword asked, slamming it into the ground.
"Oh great."
"Here he goes again."
"He isn’t all that! Handsomness comes from being a real man!" He shouted.
"And what makes a real man?" A woman asked
"Heh, I’m glad you asked." He took off his shirt. "It’s MUSCLES!"
Everyone face-palmed.
"Do you see that guy? Sure, he might have a pretty face, but you can tell from his build that he’s average at best. I bet he can’t even protect those girls. Watch." The bald man strutted up to Kai.
"I want to see this."
"Oh no, I can’t watch that cutie get his face smashed in."
"Hey, you, kid."
Kai ignored the man.
"Hey! I’m talking to you!" He pointed his sword directly at Kai’s face.
The moment Gwen saw this, she got angry. "The fuck is your problem, you potato head!"
"If you don’t put that sword down, I’ll claw your face!" Amaya hissed
"Haha! Defending him? I wonder how long you’ll defend him once I’ve beaten his skull in." The man smirked
Kai’s face shifted from admiration to annoyance. ’Who the fuck is this NPC ass loser?’
"Carl, I presume?" Kai asked 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Seems like I have a pretty good reputation for you to know who I am."
"Nah, all the irrelevant people are named Carl. Now get that sword out of my face."
"You! Do you know who I am?!"
"Carl?"
"That’s right! I’m the legendary Carl!" He shouted
"And what makes you legendary besides running your mouth?" Kai wondered.
"T-That..."
"Hahaha!"
"He got you there, Carl."
"Pffhaahahaha! Who’s this guy? I like him already!"
"S-Stop laughing at me! I’m a real man! I’ll kill you all!" Carl tried to threaten everyone, but they weren’t having it.
"Kill us with what? That loud mouth of yours?"
Gwen couldn’t contain herself and burst out laughing right in front of the guy.
"Y-You! This is all your fault!" He shouted at Kai.
"Look, man. You’re the one who approached me. I was just admiring the place. You didn’t have to engage with me, dumbass."
"Shut up! You’ll pay for this! I’ll show you how real of a man I am!"
"Oh shit!"
"He’s going to kill him?"
"Should we stop this?"
"Fuck, we gotta stop him!"
Carl swung his sword toward Kai’s neck, but it was stopped by something.
*CLANG*
Carl looked confused. "Clang?"
Kai, only using his finger, stopped the sword in its tracks. Then, he flicked it away, snapping the sword in half in the process.
"Holy shit!"
"He’s strong!"
"No wonder he was so confident."
"I want to be his girlfriend."
"Do people here have smooth brains or something? Like, why would you start a conflict with me and say it’s my fault when it backfires? Like dude, that’s stupid. Then you try to take my life because of that? This is why you’re just an extra, a nobody."
"I-I’m not a nobody! I’m a real man! I’ll show you!"
"Okay then, Mr Real man, can you take this then?" Kai flicked his head, and Carl’s entire upper half was obliterated.
"Fucking bitch. Anyone else wanna be a real man today?"
No one answered.
"That’s what I fucking thought."
