The Informal Tomb Raiding Diary: She is the occupant of the tomb!-Chapter 289 - 263: I Am Wuqing
"Who? What ex-boyfriend?"
"That guy, he seems pretty heartbroken." Baozi’s face blushed slightly as she glanced down the corridor.
"Ah..." I forgot, Zhaosi was born with a masculine appearance, and she’s exactly the type trending right now: 178 cm tall, broad shoulders, long legs, an aura reminiscent of pine and bamboo, an A-cup at best, and most importantly, she’s dressed in men’s clothing.
There are actually quite a few clansfolk with her style, so some outsiders always think our clan has men. It’s a beautiful misunderstanding, of course.
"Hey, I get it, you’ve moved on, but he hasn’t completely gotten over your relationship," Baozi said, linking arms with me like a sweet little teddy bear.
"She’s a woman," I said flatly. To talk about my past with Zhaosi, it can hardly be called uneventful. We’ve fought over a hundred times in the ring, dozens of scuffles in private, I’ve planted bombs at her place, she fired shots at street corners where I’d pass.
Not to mention anything else, we’ve definitely run into each other more than other clanspeople, we’re familiar faces.
"Oh my god, a butch woman? So handsome!" Baozi’s eyes widened larger than before.
"Handsome my foot, this person’s heart is black and ruthless." Having tangled with her both negatively and positively, Zhaosi is undoubtedly a tricky character who requires constant vigilance. Her competitive streak, once sparked, is hard to extinguish; she won’t stop until she ranks first, second, third.
"Huh? What orange?" Wen Jing asked baffled.
"Never mind, she and I aren’t friends; we’re just acquaintances," I explained solemnly.
Baozi nodded, but her expression told me she didn’t believe a word.
It’s all that damn Zhaosi’s fault; a millennium has passed, and besides renovating houses, she’s mastered the art of feigning sadness.
If she’s brave, she’d stop covering her face and move her hands away; everyone would see she’s all thunder no rain. She can’t squeeze out a single tear.
She renovated the ancient tomb into a pastoral small estate, complete with a flower garden and small vegetable plot. There’re grow lamps shining on them, and they’re thriving.
Such a property would cost at least millions on the surface; inspired by Galaxy and Zhaosi, I’ve considered building a house underground too.
At the corridor sides are forked paths, with the main tomb path and branch paths forming a "丰" character. We walked all the way to the main tomb chamber’s entrance.
The door wasn’t closed; first sight inside was a long table with fruit and cookies, which completely clashed with the murals on all four walls.
Because the murals depicted bloody scenes of battle and hunting, either beheading or gut-spilling.
Evidently, the murals were untouched originals; Zhaosi didn’t alter them.
"Sorry, I got a little emotional, mainly because I’m too happy to see the maggots, lost my composure a bit." Zhaosi came out from the inner room, smiling sincerely, exuding elegance with every gesture, and pulled out the chair for Baozi, saying, "Dear guest, please sit."
Baozi was dazzled by her smile, cheeks reddening, while I gritted my teeth in annoyance—it’s obviously a weasel scheming to steal chickens smile, but the chick is oblivious.
"Eat first; aren’t you hungry? Aren’t your friends hungry?" Zhaosi invited Shunfeng and Wen Jing to sit too, pressing on my shoulder as she passed by.
Then she moved to the head of the table and clapped her hands, causing black human-shaped smokes to float out from the side chamber, carrying all sizes of platters.
Baozi, having never seen such a scene, covered her mouth and let out a low gasp, while Shunfeng and Wen Jing looked at me, clearly asking ’What’s this thing?’
"She knows magic, it’s all an illusion." I explained dryly.
"Uh, isn’t it superpower?" Baozi lowered her hands, closely observing those black smokes.
She’s particularly sensitive to this, obviously not so easy to fool.
"Yes, this is my superpower, cool huh?" Zhaosi smiled slightly at Baozi, crackling with electricity.
"Cool what? Just for show." I didn’t even know how it happened myself, but somehow I snapped my fingers at a smoke setting down a platter, ready to return, and it immediately dissipated, surprising even me.
"Annoying, just loves ruining my mighty and awesome image." Zhaosi glanced at me, complaining.
I concealed my surprise and rolled my eyes at her; she never matched those words before, possessing only ’ruthless,’ but now she’s a scatterbrain not matching any word.
She has everything in this tomb; I really can’t let Shunfeng and Wen Jing go hungry, told them to dig in fully, don’t bother saving for Zhaosi.
While they ate, I asked Zhaosi, "Where’s the tomb owner? Where did you put them?"
Zhaosi’s eyes wandered skyward, thinking for a moment before saying, "Probably during the Republic era, some Westerners became obsessed with collecting Eastern mummies, mostly from the Western Regions, so I packaged the tomb owner a bit and entrusted someone to sell him."
