"Are you showing that you don't even care about your current wife? What else can I expect out of you, Mr. Shawn Johnson?" Javier answered with his voice turning to sneer.

"At first, you had an affair with her and left my brilliant mother. But you weren't actually ready for that too. You never divorced her or set her free." Javier's eyes shone with the unnatural mist that had replaced his smirk already.

Walking with his gun in his hand, he sat on the chair again, without tearing his eyes from his father, "Afterwards, you openly declared that you will keep your mistress in the house and she has given birth to a girl. Without even divorcing mother, you literally married that fucking Shirley! And now, you are saying this on my face that you don't even care about her?"

"Then what was the need to break my family into pieces, Shawn Johnson?" Javier's veins were already popping out.

He was enraged and there wasn't a way to actually come at this point.

Even Ellen and Ryan's eyes were all wide. Subconsciously, Ryan had to clutch his hands together after hearing that Shawn wants Javier to not let anything happen to Amaira...

'Will Javier ever hurt Amaira as he said? Or was that merely a threat?' He cant find any conclusion either.

His hatred for the other family who broke his family had no barriers. In his eyes, Shirley and her child do not belong to the Johnson household..despite Amaira carrying the same blood as their father.

He gulped the saliva without letting the expressions tamper his still movement.

Meanwhile, Shawn had kept his head low after speaking. He had no strength left to actually raise his gaze and look directly into Javier's face. "Then consider what do you wish to do. I don't have any answers for this question."

"You do have but as usual. You aren't interested in giving me any answer." Javier told him openly as if he was seeing Shawn's soul, "Settled life...you never wanted that. You wanted a wife, and a mistress to actually cherish you."

"But you forgot that my mother wasn't anyone who would simply accept? and endure all the emotional baggage either!" Javier bluntly said, without realizing it might actually make his father's heart torn into pieces.

"Javier...I said simply, do whatever you wish to Shirley, but don't even touch Amaira.."

"Why?"

"B-because....." Shawn lifted his head where his eyes traced to look at his son. Despite keeping his mouth, there were no words that came out either.

He fell silent, and this brought a mocking expression on Javier's face. "Still afraid?"

"Amaira is your child, and you care about her, I can guess this. But...how much I wished, you had cared about me too in a similar manner." Javier answered back, with a slight unhappy feeling passing by.

He had seen the love and care he had for his other children. Somewhere, he was also jealous but in the end, everything was shattered into pieces once his mother had died.... her death was unacceptable in his mind for the longest period but he came to terms after he met Jenifer...

She was the healing machine in his wounds and for sure, he will get her back but not with any kidnapping...

Javier's look didn't miss from seeing his father for the minute second before he opened her mouth, "Let's leave everything. You give me the name or the lead, about who had killed the mother."

"Why do you wish to investigate things which are already under the ground, Javier?" Shawn can't help but ask, to which Javier shook his head, "Not under the ground, until I have my hands on the entire thing. I will do everything in this lifetime to know about her killer and...make them pay."

"She was killed openly! It is very difficult to actually learn about any-"

"That isn't your tension. Tell me the lead." Javier dismissed all the worries that Shawn had kept inside his head

At this point, all Javier urged was to know the name of the killer who so openly kept his hand on his family. And surely, he will kill them without showing even a bit of mercy.

Whereas, Shawn's look changed over time. A serious gaze had appeared and it showed that there was nothing to joke about anymore.

The damn expressions gave Javier another concern but he kept himself mum.

After taking a deep breath, Shawn jerked his head backward before he looked above him to see the ceiling and then at the boys who were at the back. "The lead was very small."

"When she went out on that day.... There were cameras nearby the footpath. From there, I got the footage to see that there were two men, in a car, who came and shot your mother. It was hard to recognize them since their windows were all tinted black. But...then I asked someone to zoom in on the number plate which they all had.."

Shawn's statement made Javier a fresh frown settle on Javier's forehead. "And what did you find from that?" Javier asked, without wasting the time. ƒ𝘳ee𝔀e𝚋n૦𝐯el.c𝗼𝓂

In response, initially, Shawn didn't mutter anything before replying with a hook, "That's the wrong number plate which they had used. There was nothing left for me to see so..I had to leave the matter there and then.." Shawn's guilt tone was mixed with information.

The fact that his hands were tied by whatever happened was another heartache to come across. He was left with no other single choice but to stop his investigation.

Yet in contrast, Javier didn't feel any remorse. He played with the gun in his hands, which also alarmed Ellen, and Ryan who stood at the back but they knew that Javier wasn't any insane person together

"So..you actually stopped the investigation after knowing that it was the wrong number plate?" he asked again, to which Shawn muttered, "That was for the best. there was nothing else to see. She was killed..but there were no pro-"

"Or maybe you had already lost the will to search for her killer because you already had a family then?"
