Chapter 7 - His Lie

PAK!

Jennifer slapped him without thinking what the consequences might be out of this. The slap was hard and it left his whole body in shock. His words halted in the middle and the red mark on his face printed already.

"This....is what you get for touching me without my permission." Her teeth gritted in anger and once again, she turned around to dash inside her room.

Javier's face which was still down just lifted just to see her back leaving in the direction of her bedroom. His eyes weren't cold like earlier instead it turned into a death glare.

The patience level he was using with her, were still the best. He doesn't want her to be upset and get injured. To avoid any kind of mishappening and to protect her from it, he brought her to his island after going through so much struggle, making sure that she won't be endangered and obviously, every necessary thing present in this mansion for her sake.

Yet she is acting like a drama queen?

He brought his hand near his lips and saw that there was a little bit of blood coming out. He pressed it with his thumb with his eyes already dark in anger.

'Jennifer, why are you so bent on testing my patience with you?' he really can't answer this question but then, his phone which was lying on the kitchen counter vibrated.

Javier, whose eyes were still set to where Jennifer left, didn't even care to look at the dialer who called him. Picking it with his eyes and face in her room's direction, he spoke, "Who is there?"

"Javier.."

Just his name was pronounced but he became alert. His cold aura now turned chilly. The voice on the other hand was not cold but heavy. Javier used his leg and came on the balcony and closed the sliding door behind him.

"I'm hearing you," he replied back.

"You were asked to bring her back to our states. It was decided that she would be a hostage here until Lucas agrees to our demands. But you aren't following what I asked you to do, son. Are you forgetting the rules?"

The rules...which he broke for Jennifer. Instead of bringing her to his state, he brought her to this isolated island with his private jet so that they both can be away from the hustle that might be going on in the real place. But he forgot that he will have to answer his father back.

Clearing his throat, he replied, "A state is an easy place where they will find her. Here, no one can even guess that she is located here that is why I brought her. Lucas has his people everywhere, do you wish him to find Jennifer so easily?"

"Are you sure that there is no other reason for you to bring her there? You aren't hiding anything from us, Javier, am I right?" His father's words made his one eyebrow raise.

Lifting his chin, Javier said, "You can trust me on this. There is nothing to hide from you, Father. Just rest assured and keep an eye over Lucas and his actions. He must be going crazy since Jennifer isn't in his hands anymore."

"Haha...ahha yes son! I will handle other things. Make sure that our target suffers so that we can threaten Lucas!" Although, his father did laugh there was no sign of a smile on his face.

Hanging up the call, he switched it off after looking at it for some time. There was no need for this phone, otherwise, some might trace his location and he doesn't wish anything like this.

Sliding the phone back into his pocket, Javier liked the breathtaking view from his mansion. It was something he bought a few years ago, and now he is finally here with her.

"I'm sorry dad.. but this is the only way I can spend more time with her without hurting her as well and keeping her away from those dangers."

….

Meanwhile back in the room.

Jennifer just took the bath after she dashed inside her room. The heated argument with Javier made her nerves boil to the next extent.

"He is such a jerk to me.." standing in front of the mirror, she rubbed her wet hair with a towel first. Her mind was simply glued to whatever that just happened to her in the last twenty-four hours.

Her missing from her wedding, or to be corrected, she was kidnapped and brought to such a lavish island that looked totally isolated from where.

When she was still in a daze and deep into her thoughts, the door of the room opened. Her eyes averted on the Javier who had brought something inside her room to eat.

"You must be hungry till this time because I guess you haven't eaten anything even yesterday. Eat it, it is fresh and will boost your energy." He said while pressing the trolley of the food into her room and serving it on the couch and center table that was there in the room.

But she shrugged it and moved her eyes and face in the opposite direction, somewhere else "No need. I'm not hungry."

"Jennifer, don't test my patience. I'm trying to maintain calm so I can act like a reasonable person as well. I'm offering you food and why are you making a fuss over it?"

Hearing his loud pitch, Jennifer turned to him and threw the towel on the ground in anger. "You are the one who kidnapped me because I was going to marry Lucas! And now you are saying `Why am I in a fuse over it?"

"You just made me run away from my own wedding! Do you even understand that? How can you even expect better out of me at this point?!" Her mood was not good and Javier already predicted it.

He simply listened to what she said and just put the plates back on the table. "For God's sake, if Lucas is your enemy, then why don't you go for him? Why make me a target?"

This time, Javier turned to her and looked at her face with no expressions. He was like a stoic person who might kill anyone, the same expressions she saw when he kidnapped her.

"Have you heard the name of the Johnson family?"𝐟𝘳𝑒𝗲𝘸e𝒃𝘯𝒐𝐯e𝚕.c𝒐𝒎
