Chapter 9-The Spear Danced Like a Dragon

“Run away!”

“Run as fast as I can!”

This was the only thought in An Jia’s heart.

At this moment, in the torrential rain and earsplitting thunder, the stones and steel bars that had been blasted away in the reverse direction on the roof had completely disappeared from his eyes.

A two-meter-long silver spear completely occupied his mind.

This was a long weapon with a rather imposing shape. Obviously, its ability to shrink enabled its owner to carry it more conveniently. Before it extended completely, it was just a 10-centimeter metal pipe. But once it fully extended, anyone would marvel at its craftsmanship.

The two-meter-long spear was completely extended from the ten-centimeter handle, but the thickness of the entire spear was almost the same and it made people feel good when holding it. What made An Jia more panic was the spearhead.

The spearhead was sharp without tassels, and the two sharp blades spread outward in a subtle arc, impressing others with a ferocious but delicate feeling. At first glance, it looked a bit like a halberd, but the curved shape of the two blades together with the spearhead was more restrained than that of a halberd.

An Jia had never seen such a strange spear, but that did not mean he did not know how to appreciate it. As a new, prominent teacher of the Sky Academy, with his professional vision, he was certain that it was a lethal weapon the first time he saw it!

It was more versatile than a common spear and more flexible than a halberd.

Explosive weapons had become the mainstream on the battlefield in modern society, but in the hands of a real expert, cold weapons were the most trustworthy things.

Explosive weapons were indeed convenient, but there was always a time when the bullets and cannons were consumed. However, as long as people were still alive, they could continue to kill enemies with cold weapons.

The moment An Jia saw this spear, he could imagine what kind of a mess and a bloody scene would it cause in fierce battles.

He didn’t even need to imagine. Because at this moment, he was personally feeling a great pressure that this spear and its owner brought him.

The two-meter-long spear hit downward, and the air wherever it passed seemed to have been completely drawn out. The high-pitched whistling grew louder. In An Jia’s line of sight, the ferocious but delicate spear directly hit the top of his head from above!

No words could be used to describe how he felt now.

The spear drew near as if the whole world was falling. Pure and extreme killing intent enveloped all his space of action. The raindrops in the air were shredded into invisible powder. An Jia felt that the spear seemed to have connected with the entire world. With the raging and pure killing intent, it struck downward with tremendous power!

At this moment, An Jia did not have any idea of resisting at all. He simply roared and retreated after gathering all his energy.

The silver spear crashed into the ground with a loud bang.

The entire building shook violently. Centered on where the spear landed, numerous cracks were spreading rapidly in all directions of the flat roof.

“Rumble!”

An Jia saw with a blank stare that the surrounding cracks reached their limits and could no longer extend. The roof didn’t seem to be able to withstand the tremendous force, so the initial point where the spear landed collapsed, creating a huge crack seven to eight meters long.

Li Tianlan, the man who was responsible for all this, had no intention to stop attacking to question him. As soon as the spear hit the ground, he had rushed over without a word and struck straight toward An Jia again!

“Damn it! Is this really a freshman?”

“Who is able to teach a guy like him?”

While thinking, An Jia almost had a nervous breakdown. Facing Li Tianlan in this state, he did not even have the courage to test his strength by fighting. Looking at the spear that was shooting toward his chest, An Jia turned and ran a few steps without hesitation. Then he directly jumped off the roof.

Behind him, Li Tianlan’s eyes twinkled and became more and more devilish. At the moment when An Jia jumped from the roof, Li Tianlan sprinted without hesitation as well and jumped down, holding a spear higher than himself.

They considered the height of more than 10 meters as nothing.

When his feet touched the ground, An Jia bent his knees and quickly unloaded the impact. After that, he sprang to his feet, trying to escape.

The residential area was surrounded by the woods which had a history longer than that of the Sky Academy. The terrain of the woods was quite complex. As long as he rushed into it, An Jia believed he could easily escape because he was relatively familiar with the terrain.

But just as he sprang to his feet, the spear appeared behind him again.

Li Tianlan, who landed a second later than An Jia, forcibly bore the impact. He attacked again without unloading the impact.

Head, chest, and the middle of the back.

Li Tianlan’s three attacks aimed at striking the vital parts of the human body. He did all this directly and efficiently, and each one of his moves was ghastly and violent.

This was the real way to use a spear to kill someone else. An Jia, who was in retreat, had no strength to fight back at all. His body twisted weirdly, and the bones all over his body immediately emanated a burst of cracking sound. At this point, his skeleton seemed to have been dislocated. When his legs ran forward, his upper body suddenly tilted sharply. His speed remained unaffected, and he successfully dodged Li Tianlan’s spear once again.

“Huh?”

Li Tianlan uttered a short sentence at last. He seemed to be very surprised, but he still looked calm, and his eyes appeared to be more and more devilish.

Compared with the image of a country bumpkin when he just arrived at Huating, Li Tianlan now looked terribly strange. He was calm, cold, indifferent, and sharp. His devilish eyes chilled anyone who looked at them.

While Li Tianlan was lost in thought for a short while, the person in front of him had fled a dozen meters away. He snorted and followed that person without the slightest idea of giving up.

Apparently, the man’s movement of twisting his body in a split second did not belong to the area of specialization. It was more like a certain kind of unique skill in Martial Arts. Li Tianlan did not know his identity. However, he didn’t believe that the man who appeared alone on his roof on a rainy night with the intention of spying on him would do all this out of kindness.

Since he harbored malicious intentions, he was his enemy.

Before leaving, Qin Weibai implicitly mentioned the case of treason in those days and described it as something complicated and confusing. Thus, Li Tianlan was certain that there must be many inside stories about the case. At such times, he did not plan to conceal his strength when fighting the suspected enemy.

The two men rushed out of the dormitory area one after another and rushed into the woods nearby. While one was escaping, the other was chasing. As such, the distance of dozens of meters was rapidly shortened.

An Jia’s heart was cold as he tried to escape.

He knew his opponent was a little faster than he was, but he had thought that as long as they entered the woods, he could easily escape from his opponent’s pursuit given that he was more familiar with the terrain here.

But things went contrary to his wishes. After entering the woods, Li Tianlan did not slow down, instead, he was more like a duck to water. Thick trees and the rough ground had no effect on him at all, and the distance between them was getting closer. An Jia knew that he would be back in the attack zone of the freshman in a few seconds at most.

Considering the two-meter-long spear and the length of the arm, the attack range of his opponent was shockingly large.

He could not go on like this.

What he needed most was time. He just needed to buy himself a few seconds to get rid of his opponent.

“A few seconds…”

An Jia, who was running as fast as he could, gritted his teeth and suddenly turned around.

He became the teacher of the Sky Academy at the age of 31. Although he didn’t have much seniority, it showed that he was by no means a weak person.

Although he knew he was no match for Li Tianlan, An Jia thought he was able to block him for a few seconds.

An Jia turned around abruptly and stood motionlessly. Since they were very close previously, Li Tianlan managed to appear near him instantly.

Although Li Tianlan had a deadpan expression on his face, he had never been so resolute to kill someone else.

His silver spear shot straight at An Jia!

With a solemn look, An Jia attacked with all his strength as though he was confronting a formidable enemy.

He suddenly pulled his hands backward.

The rain falling from the sky seemed to have come to a standstill in a twinkling.

“Crack…”

There was a sound of things freezing.

An ice wall of at least one meter thick suddenly appeared in front of Li Tianlan!

The sultry air instantaneously became chilly.

Li Tianlan’s eyes grew increasingly devilish and cold. He found that he had underestimated his opponent, even though he could tell that his strength was not bad from the speed he escaped.

Turning the void into an ice wall!

This was not an exceptional skill but an attack from an expert at the Ice-condensing Realm.

The ice wall was more than one meter thick. Although his opponent executed this attack by taking advantage of the rain, Li Tianlan was quite certain that his strength had absolutely exceeded the Qi-controlling Realm and had completely stabilized at the Ice-condensing Realm.

For the vast majority of people, the Four Realms of Martial Arts were elusive realms that they were unable to attain. The ones who reached the most basic realm of the Four Realms of Martial Arts—the Qi-controlling Realm, were undoubtedly mighty ones in the eyes of ordinary people.

Condensing Qi into a blade was the basic sign of experts at the Qi-controlling Realm.

Qi here didn’t refer to Internal Strength or Qigong or anything like that, it was the air around one’s body.

Experts at the Qi-controlling Realm could use the strength of their muscles and bones to compress the air in front of them when they needed to display their strength in an instant.

The greater the force they used and the faster they acted, the more compressed the air would be. When a man’s strength and speed broke a certain limit, his hands did not even need to hit the enemy when he had an outbreak of strength, because the compressed air in front of his hands alone could hurt the enemy.

This was condensing Qi into a blade, also known as the Qi-controlling Realm.

The Ice-condensing Realm was more advanced than the Qi-controlling Realm.

It was well known that there were little water and vapor in the air. And experts who had crossed the Qi-controlling Realm had the power and speed that reached a level which ordinary people could not fathom. When such experts had an outbreak of strength, they could completely condense all the moisture in the nearby air in a flash!

Condensing water into ice was the sign of the Ice-condensing Realm.

The ice wall that suddenly appeared before Li Tianlan was more than one meter thick. It was impossible for an expert who had just entered the Ice-condensing Realm to execute such an attack even with the help of the rain.

“How generous the man backing you are!”

Li Tianlan finally said in a cold tone of voice.

However, he did not plan to stop attacking. Without hesitation, the moving silver spear pierced the ice wall in front of him violently.

“Boom!”

The raging power vibrated wildly. Three meters away from Li Tianlan, all the falling rainwater instantly flew upward. Like tofu, the one-meter-thick ice wall in front of him turned into ice blocks that scattered around the ground in the blink of an eye. A few thick trees within the ice wall crumbled directly into bits of wood under the tremendous impact.

Amidst the bits of wood and ice blocks all over the sky, Li Tianlan, who had made a move with all his strength likewise, rushed over with the spear in his hand remaining the position of hitting An Jia.

The spear and he was a whole and they would go anywhere together.

At this moment, Li Tianlan seemed to have become a part of the spear. With the raging killing intent that was sufficient to tear apart all the obstacles on his way, Li Tianlan rushed straight toward An Jia. Again, his target was An Jia’s heart.

His attack was so powerful that it was unstoppable!

This was truly an invincible momentum that could destroy everything on its way!

Any person or thing that dared to impede it would be torn to pieces thoroughly by this spear in a split second!

It was an attack that left Li Tianlan no leeway and route of retreat. This was his Martial Arts, and also his life.

An Jia, who was eager to make a bet with his partner a few minutes ago and thought Li Tianlan was a rookie, was now overwhelmed by terror. Facing this extremely horrifying attack, he even had a problem breathing, not to mention dodging it.

“Help… ”

As he watched the spear drew closer and closer to him, he opened his mouth and let out a dying moan.

The spear was about to pierce An Jia’s chest.

“Stop! Bastard!”

An angry and anxious shout was followed by a gunshot.

The gunshot reverberated through the thick forest.

The bullet came from tens of meters away and hit Li Tianlan directly on the back of his hand.

Li Tianlan felt a sharp pain in his palm and saw his blood splatter everywhere. Under the death threat, he threw out the spear that condensed all his killing intent without any consideration.

A spear at least two meters in length was released.

In the woods, a brilliant silver meteor flashed by, shooting directly in the direction of the bullet.

An Jia, who had been waiting for death, suddenly opened his eyes wide and roared, “Brother, watch out!!!”

Tens of meters away in the woods, a burly man who was as strong as An Jia simply had no time to react. He could only helplessly watch that silver ray getting closer and closer.

The spear danced like a dragon!

The silver spear came in a split second and pierced right through the man’s belly.

Blood splattered everywhere.

The silver spear moved as quickly as before with the burly man’s body on it. Seeing this, An Jia’s eyes were bloodshot. The spear that Li Tianlan had thrown out tens of meters away, flew in the air for nearly 20 more meters together with his cherished brother who had lived with him all day long. Finally, his brother and the spear were nailed firmly to a thick tree.

The smaller part of the spear pierced through the tree and it quivered violently.

The man who was nailed to the tree remained motionless, without any sign to show that he was still alive.

An Jia had a blank look on his face. There was no anger in his eyes, only deep sorrow.

Barehanded, Li Tianlan wiped the blood on his hands without any expression. Then he narrowed his eyes and said softly, “Drop dead!”

An Jia said nothing. The scene that Li Tianlan killed another expert at the Ice-condensing Realm dozens of meters away with a spear fell on him like a nightmare. Similarly, this scene was witnessed by two old men on a big tree that was dozens of meters away from Li Tianlan.

They were Yu Donglai, and Zhuang Huayang—the headmaster of the Sky Academy, who came here specially to watch this show.

They came here in high spirits but saw a wonderful play with a bad ending.

“How mighty he is! This boy has probably vaguely touched the Invincible Realm. At the very least, it is quite possible for him to enter the Thunder-shocking Realm before he is 30. Damn, I misjudged him. Old Zhuang, he is more talented than Qin Ke, isn’t he?”

Yu Donglai kept silent for a few seconds and then sighed gently. Although he looked calm, he felt something turbulent inside.

He knew Li Tianlan’s identity. Li Tianlan had not reached the Four Realms of Martial Arts with such a horrifying combat capability, but he was certain that there must be a special reason for this. How could a person like him be a good-for-nothing? He was surely an exceptional genius.

Thinking of Li Tianlan’s identity and the case of treason in those days that was still complicated and confusing until now, Yu Donglai had a complicated look on his face.

Perhaps with the appearance of this guy, the future Special Warfare System in Zhongzhou State would be quite lively.

Headmaster Zhuang Huayang stood beside Yu Donglai. He had missed the chance to rescue his student because of hesitation while Li Tianlan was throwing the spear. He still had an expression of disbelief on his face. It was a good few seconds before he came to his senses and muttered, “Where the hell did this little monster come from?”
