"Where’s Master?" I heard Miri ask and I frowned a bit.

Couldn’t she see me lying right here?

"I..." Sol mumbled.

Suddenly I felt as if I was being scooped up, half my body seemed suspended in the air as someone held me up.

"And what’s this doing here?" Miri asked.

I opened my eyes looking right at her. She was a Queen for God’s sake! Why was she in a man’s room so early in the morning when I wasn’t even awake?

I should talk some sense into her or she would end up creating scandalous rumours about us.

I opened my mouth to tell her to not barge into my room like this but, the words that stepped out weren’t what I expected, "Nya nya-"

I stopped and then frowned before I opened my mouth again, "Nya, mya-"

I gasped moving my hands to put over my mouth but then I realised that my arms weren’t as long, and for some reason, Miri looked larger than she should.

In her obsidian eyes, what I saw shocked the hell out of me.

"Nya, nya?!" I shouted as I saw a white furred and blue eyed creature’s reflection.

I yanked my body out of her and jumped down on the soft mattress, Sol who sat there looked at me with a quizzical expression himself and I whipped my head around before I spotted the vanity and I ran to it.

When I did manage get on top of the vanity and stood before the mirror, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I touched my face which had shrunken so much and even my hands were paws now. I stared at my small, furry and pure white body in utter shock.

I couldn’t believe it, this couldn’t be true. There was no way that I was a cat!

It must be a dream, yes, that would explain it. I brought my hand/paw up and smacked myself urging myself to wake up from this strange dream but it wouldn’t work, it hurt but I wasn’t waking up.

"What’s that cat doing? Where did it come from? Is it Master’s?" I heard Miri ask and I turned my head looking at them.

His expression clearly said that he knew who I was, if not for my clothes lying beside him he would definitely know who I was!

I slumped over the vanity too confused and tired to make sense of my situation. Why was I a cat? What kind of a quest was this?

Suddenly the memories from last night came to my mind and I recalled the Random Roulette reward, I didn’t check what reward I’d drawn because I feel asleep but at this moment that was the biggest suspect for my condition.

"Nya, nya!" I called for the system and the blue screen popped up with the last read notification.

I stared at the notification for a long moment before I felt a vein in my head pulsing.

"You damn shitty system! I knew it was a scam when you said it was a random thing. Cancel this damn reward! I don’t want it, revert me back to normal!" I shouted but apart from the cat’s angry mewling nothing else was audible.

I jumped at it trying to punch the screen but my claws could only go through it.

"What is that cat doing?" I heard Miri ask while she watched me jump and attack an invisible object floating in air.

Suddenly the doors opened again and another familiar presence burst through, I turned my head to see Davian.

"Master, are you awake? Let’s go to the town to play!" He announced before looking at bed where Miri and Sol were before his eyes found mine.

He stared at me, I stared back at him, he of all people would be able to see through this stupid facade of a cat.

"Master..." He spoke and then turned to Miri and Sol.

"Master left again for some work?" He asked making me gasp as he of all people didn’t notice it!

"Nya! Nya!" I called for him and jumped down the vanity rushing towards him scratching at his boots making him stumble back.

"Wha-What is this-" he spoke as I felt the overwhelming sense of being wronged and betrayed.

First the system and then this guy how could these guys be like this?!

I almost wailed in mortification at Davian’s feet when I felt a pair of gentle arms scoop me up and hold me properly as if carrying a baby.

I looked up at Sol who stared down at me which unreadable eyes.

Sol.

"Nya." I whimpered and he sighed before he looked at the two dumb adults.

"This is... Ocean Ryujin." He spoke making the two stare at us.

"Huh?" Miri asked.

"Wait... what?" Davian asked.

The two looked dumbfounded as Sol carried me in his arms and after a couple of seconds the two walked closer to have a better look, Davian’s eyes widened as he reached out and touched my ear which I had been feeling was rather heavier.

"He-He’s right... this is the earpiece that Master always wears." He spoke.

"Now that you say it... it’s eyes are also like Master..." Miri said before the two of them looked at each other and then at me.

"Master?!" They shouted and I sighed.

I was mad at them for not recognising me but more so, I was confused. How could Davian of all people not sense it? He said he could recognise me in any disguise I was- like a sun among the measly lamps but still he failed to see it?

"You two, how could you not recognize me? Especially you!" I said pointing my paw at Davian, "you of all people should have known that it’s me! How could you not recognise my mana?!"

The two stared at me as they could only hear me mewling angrily and Davian reached out and placed his large hand over my small head.

"I can’t believe this," he whispered, "without his mana I couldn’t even sense him."

Without my- what?!

"But how did he turn into a cat?"

"Is this a new disguise?"

I couldn’t make any sense of this situation so, I turned to the ones who could answer.

"Oi, system! What exactly have you done to my body?!" I growled and the familiar ding responded in my head as the blue screen appeared.

My angry rants weren’t clear for the ones around me who were still trying to speculate the reason for my sudden change of forms.

Sol stood quietly holding me while I threatened the system which jumped this strange reward on me. I should have known that it was a scam, I shouldn’t have agreed to it.

I blinked, taken aback by the offer and decided to listen first.

I couldn’t do anything with this body, it would be impossible to fight for protect with these weak paws and the most important thing was Sol’s health. He needed my healing to keep his curse from worsening.

I sighed and then looked at Miri and Davian, well, I could have asked for my gift of linguistics but since these guys didn’t recognize me and I felt betrayed.

I choose Sol.
