The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse-Chapter 1434: Dinner
The dining room is rather vast, decorated with the finest ornaments. The table is rectangular, lined with all kinds of delicacies.
The moment they entered, the lights lit up, revealing everything. Klaus smiled because, aside from the pleasant aroma of the food, he could sense a powerful energy in everything served.
Queen Leah, who was paying attention to him, smiled and said:
"I personally drew up the menu for this dinner. On here, every meat, food item, or ingredient used is a Spirit item. They can be comparable to True Immortals and above."
"Very thoughtful of you, Queen Leah. In any case, it has been millions of years since I smelled such a powerful delicacy. I am sure I will enjoy it as much."
She nodded and soon sat down. Everyone had a place to sit and even a few spare seats. Queen Leah didn’t want a situation where there would be less space for the people gathered.
So instead of having less, she made sure there was more.
The moment they sat down, Klaus started serving himself all kinds of dishes. This sight instantly drew everyone’s attention to him. However, while they were looking at him, he was busy serving himself.
After a few minutes, he had five plates full of food before him.
Queenie, who was on his right, chuckled and poured him some fruit juice first. She knew Klaus wasn’t messing around, especially when food was involved.
He told them that when he and his mom lost their home and had to move to the slums, they were devastated. However, despite it all, his mom always made sure there was food on the table. Because of this, when they recovered, he chose never to mess around when food was on the table.
This is his way of announcing that food is an integral part of life. Even when they were at their lowest, his mom sold everything she had to ensure he always had something to eat.
After taking a large gulp of the wine, he started to eat. The stunned look on everyone’s faces only grew when they saw how uncaring Klaus was, even in the presence of people who would make even the brave blush in embarrassment.
"It would be best if we all start eating. We wouldn’t want him to eat everything now, would we?" Anna said with a giggle before she also started serving herself.
The rest of her sisters laughed and began serving themselves.
In the end, all questions were swallowed for now. Food first, then the questions would follow.
Because of the private nature of this dinner, Queen Leah made sure none of the cooks and maids stuck around. So everyone had to serve themselves.
Half an hour later, Lucy asked a question, "Dear, are you really from the Zorvian Primordial Family? We did some research and found out that both Lily and Lulu came from them. Fun fact, this is Lulu’s third life."
Klaus lifted his head and gave Lulu a look before he turned to his food. He bit into a piece of meat and savored the taste before raising his head back to look at Lucy.
"Yes, I came from there, but I don’t have their bloodline."
"Then are you not one of their heirs?"
"No. I knew them because during the Primordial Era, when I first arrived in this universe, they were the ones who raised me. I was merely a baby who found himself in an unknown universe.
Lord Zorvian found me and raised me like his own son. So you can say I am a Zorvian, just not related by blood."
"Interesting," Lucy, being a nerd, noted that down before she asked her own question, "If you are not related by blood, then why are you their new heir? I learned they always send an heir out every era."
Klaus smiled at Lucy’s curious question. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"That is indeed true. They do send their heirs out to grow on their own and dominate the universe. However, this time around, they wouldn’t be sending out one; this also means I am not their heir.
Of course, since they seem to have started giving me the same cold shoulders they give to their heirs, you can say I am one of their heirs—that is, if they qualify to have me as an heir."
A grin formed on his face as he wiped a sauce from the corner of his lips. "My standards aren’t exactly something any of their heirs could replicate."
"As if," Lily smirked.
She was the Red Fury, an existence who once came close to killing the Paragon, had it not been for the Primordial Flame Dragon coming to his aid.
"You talk big as if you didn’t beg me several times to spare your pitiful life back then." Klaus looked at Lily, who chuckled. "Yes, I have recovered more than enough memories to know I was your biggest nightmare back then."
Klaus laughed, seeing the smug look appear on Lily’s face. Because of Asmodeus and Alexi, all forms of karma related to divulging information about their past lives are no longer applied to them. In fact, the more they say, the more they recover.
It was as if someone made it so the Heavens wouldn’t run short of things to be angry about.
"Biggest nightmare for a couple of years. Then I conquered you, and now look, you are as docile as a dolphin."
"What is a dolphin?" Lista asked, looking straight at Klaus. While she may be a demigod who has lived for thousands of years, this was her first time hearing the word dolphin.
Queen Leah gave her daughter a thumbs-up for asking a question. Lista is the kind of person who likes to keep to herself. Aside from training and occasional dinners with her family, she always stays indoors.
So going out of her way to ask a question in front of all these people made everyone who knew her smile.
Klaus turned and looked at the petite lady, whose chest was rather large for someone who looked like the cutest kid in the universe.
"Dolphins are these super cute sea creatures that humans love to play with. I have never played with one, but from what I have seen, they are harmless.
In fact, even when the apocalypse reached my home world, they were the only creatures that didn’t evolve into sea monsters."
Klaus activated an illusion mist and waved his hand, manifesting it into a black-and-white striped dolphin.
"Wow, so beautiful," Lista remarked, her expression brightening up. She wasn’t the only one fascinated by the dolphin’s beauty. Even his old man seemed stunned by it.
This made Klaus wonder if there was nothing beautiful there that a mere dolphin could capture their attention this much.
This made him wonder if dolphins can only be found on Earth. His curiosity got the best of him, so he asked Icon to perform a search.
To his shock, no results came out from the search. This caused his brow to furrow. ’Interesting. I suppose Earth isn’t ordinary after all.’
"One day, I will take you all there. I am sure, aside from the dolphins, you will fall in love with the other creatures we have."
A few minutes later, Queen Leah finally asked her question. "Lord Paragon, I am dying to know more about what it means to be the Paragon. Care to satiate my curiosity?"
