The Low-key Evil Wizard BOSS-Chapter 53 - 49: Digesting the Golden Skeleton
Deep in the quiet and gloomy basement.
The strange, swirling miasma that had ravaged the basement just a few days ago was cleared away after Zorn brought in some potted Blue Glow Moss he had transplanted from underground.
The greenish miasma was gone, and the air was exceptionally fresh.
Zorn hadn’t told anyone this little tidbit of information—that Blue Glow Moss could purify toxic miasma.
If this news ever got out, the Blue Glow Moss in the sewers would be stripped clean by unscrupulous Rat Catchers.
At that point, even if the Rat Plague was resolved,
before the Blue Glow Moss had time to grow back,
the polluted, toxic miasma underground would be difficult to disperse, causing the plague to break out repeatedly in Ogrande City.
Inside the boiling cauldron in the basement, a bizarre, intensely hungry sound echoed.
"GURGLE... GURGLE... GURGLE..."
"GURGLE... GURGLE... GURGLE..."
The Giant Glutton’s Stomach was stewing inside.
After several days of emptying it, Zorn was finally ready to complete the integration of the Giant Glutton’s Stomach.
However, integrating the Giant Glutton’s Stomach was only a secondary objective for today.
The main event was unsealing and utilizing the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton.
In a corner,
three expensive materials Zorn had previously purchased lay quietly on the black Ritual Platform.
From left to right, they were:
A golden Wolf King Fang Dagger.
The "Old Ruins Silver Powder" from the Saint Jia’en Misty Plateau.
The "Fire Heart Wood" from a Witch Tribe’s Magical Cottage.
These were all rare items, each worth around 100 gold pounds.
Zorn had spared no expense to be able to assimilate the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton.
Three candles on a candelabrum were burning, illuminating Zorn’s calm face.
He glanced at the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton, which had been placed to one side.
Zorn then focused his gaze on the Ritual Platform before him.
Zorn, of course, knew the Unsealing Spell for the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton.
Although it was only a remnant, it still contained the power of an Upper Ranker, as well as the power of a terrifying Evil God.
But without using his own Mighty Power, trying to harness it discreetly would be extremely difficult, and he might even fail catastrophically.
He could very well blow the entire manor to smithereens.
So... Zorn planned... to summon himself.
Previously, Zorn had set his anchor in the Hidden Source Land and begun prying loose the Black Mist from the Calamity Origin Land to use as cover.
Therefore, even if he now channeled and used his own Mighty Power through a summoning,
he wouldn’t be seen by those terrifying entities.
As for the "Zorn Corick" of the past...
He had anchored himself in the Calamity Origin Land, recklessly unleashing his Mighty Power, causing calamities at a whim, performing blood sacrifices on entire city-states, and stealing the souls of whole towns.
Blood sacrifices were thrilling in the moment, but they led straight to the funeral pyre.
Everything he did was witnessed by those hidden and cunning beings.
They were basically always on his tail, hunting him down.
But the "Zorn Corick" of today...
had anchored himself in the Hidden Source Land, slowly prying at the power of the Calamity Origin Land.
Once the Spiritual Realm of the Calamity Origin Land took shape...
...and perfectly concealed him, no one would ever know the true trail of the terrifying Evil Spirit Wizard when he slaughtered the Church and offered up its Transcendent squads as blood sacrifices!
Previously, in the calamitous environment deep within the sewers, Zorn had already leveraged a significant amount of Black Mist Power using a ritual trap.
Now, Zorn could finally wield his Mighty Power through summoning.
And he didn’t have to worry about being discovered by anyone.
Taking a deep breath, Zorn began to chant in a low voice, using the Saint Maya Ancient Language.
"O, great Lord of Holy Witch."
You are the Prophet who sees the future!
You are the ever-burning lighthouse!
You are the witness to immortal miracles!
The epic of the World shall be rewritten in Your hands!
The rings of history shall be carved anew at Your fingertips!"
"I pray for Your arrival!"
As Zorn finished reciting the Spell he had tailored for himself,
above the altar, a viscous, swirling Black Mist flowed in swiftly, like a falling night curtain. It spread across the ceiling, making it seem as if a deep and gloomy night sky had descended into the room.
Deep within the Black Mist, the immense, imposing silhouette of a figure, cold and grim, faintly emerged.
That... was Zorn’s other self in the Hidden Source Land.
His self in reality.
The anchor in the Hidden Source Land.
And the origin in the Calamity Origin Land.
A trinity. This was the entirety of the Evil Spirit Wizard, Zorn Corick.
As the summoning was completed,
Zorn’s vision shifted, and he saw himself in a low, dim, secret chamber.
When his physical self looked up into the depths of the arcane Black Mist,
his eyes met his own.
’Hmm... a strange feeling.’
He chuckled softly and immediately looked away.
With a light tap of his finger, the Zorn from the Hidden Source Land acted.
Inside the basement, the viscous Black Mist was rapidly reshaped.
Soon, the four walls, the floor, and the ceiling were all shrouded in a curtain condensed from the Black Mist.
’Now that this secret chamber is fortified by my Mighty Power, I don’t have to worry about the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton causing any trouble.’
"Cough... cough... cough..."
He coughed, taking the ceramic jar out of his monster-hide suitcase.
After setting down the ceramic jar,
Zorn went over the Spell in his mind one more time.
Only then did he slowly begin to chant in the Taes language.
This Sun King, who had worshipped the Sun,
had flocked to all things great and revered them as gospel.
He was especially and madly obsessed with the so-called Divine Language, the Taes Ancient Language.
Even in death, he could only be unsealed by a Spell in the Taes Ancient Language.
When Zorn finished chanting the Unsealing Spell,
"CRACK... CRACK... CRACK..."
the ceramic jar began to crack rapidly.
A golden light, almost tangible, flowed out from the fissures.
Immediately after, the sealed ceramic jar weathered away in an instant.
A vast, golden-yellow light burst forth like a flood.
The entire secret chamber was submerged in an ocean of golden yellow.
If not for the curtain of darkness blocking it, the golden light would have likely flowed right out onto the streets.
Zorn felt as if a Golden Sun was rising before his very eyes.
He even saw a brilliant, golden-yellow figure, seated high upon a Golden Throne, looking down at him with immense dignity.
"Kneel... you damned... slave!"
A heatwave of reprimand seemed to wash over him.
Everything around him began to heat up rapidly.
If this continued, Zorn feared he would be roasted alive.
At that same moment, Zorn made his move.
The Zorn from the Hidden Source Land struck down fiercely with his palm.
"BOOM!"
The palm strike crossed dimensions, carrying with it infinite Mighty Power as it descended heavily.
The figure on the Golden Throne was struck down from its seat.
"CLANG... DANG... DANG..."
What seemed to be a rib cast from solid gold slammed onto the floor of the secret chamber, letting out a metallic clang.
Just as the golden stream of light tried to surge forth again,
another blow from the Hidden Source Land landed heavily on the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton.
The golden-yellow light and the remnant will both seemed on the verge of being shattered.
But the golden light still tried to coalesce.
At this point, however, there was no longer a need to draw upon the power of the Hidden Source Land.
Zorn himself could now handle the scattered remains of the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton.
Life Absorption.
Zorn unleashed his Extraordinary Ability.
After all, the Sun King had once assimilated the flesh and blood remnants of Egunus.
The Spiritual Root Source within it could be said to share a partial origin with Zorn, allowing him to absorb and assimilate it directly and efficiently.
This was the most perfect food for an Evil Spirit Wizard.
"GULP... GULP... GULP..."
Amidst the efficient absorption,
Zorn could feel his Sequence Experience increasing at a rapid pace.
6%... 8%... 10%...
