The Lustful Villain: Every Milfs and Gilfs are Mine!-Chapter 119. First Academy was Great! There’s a Lot of Good Targets! (I Want Them All)
Aisella’s face changed a little when Talyra said something that Rex’s Emotional Insight picked up on right away. She knew something about the clustering but didn’t want to say what it was.
He put it away and let the conversation go on.
Apollo came to their table from the main hall entrance, moving quickly and happily like someone who had finished their own meal early and was looking for people he was interested in.
He said to Talyra and Aisella, "There you are," and then he looked at Rex with real warmth. "And you!"
"Good instincts, by the way. The main canteen is always the best choice on the first day because it’s less pressure." He pulled out the chair across from Rex and sat down without asking, which wasn’t rude because his energy made it feel like an invitation for everyone in the room.
"How’s your first day going? Did the orientation help you get everything in order?"
"Still working on the layout," Rex said. "These two made it easier."
Rex wanted to do something bad to the table when Apollo looked at Talyra and Aisella with such pride. "Of course they did."
"They’re the best girls I know." He leaned forward on his elbows. "Don’t worry about the layout."
"In two weeks, it’ll all be automatic. You’ll stop seeing the building and start seeing paths."
"Thanks," Rex said.
’Who the fuck invited this guy...? I was just about to raise their desire level, and this motherfucker decided to come in at the worst time’
Apollo was about to say something else when a noise from across the canteen broke through the background noise. It started with a loud voice and quickly got to the kind of sharp, aggressive volume that made the tables nearby go quiet in that ripple-effect way that crowd dynamics do when something is wrong.
Rex turned his head.
Three older students, built like people who trained for combat, were standing around a pair of what were clearly newer students near the food stations. Rex thought the new students were in their first or second year because they looked so young.
The new students had a frozen, calculating expression, as if they were trying to determine whether it was possible to calm a situation that was already beyond control. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
One of the older students, with broad shoulders and dark hair, had knocked a younger student’s tray to the floor, his sneer revealing that he had bullied people for so long he no longer cared to be subtle about it.
"Pick it up, loser," he said.
The younger student was trying to decide whether to go along with it or fight back, and the math on that choice wasn’t going his way.
Apollo was already standing. Rex watched him unfold from his chair with the automatic, unthinking ease of someone for whom staying out of it was not an option.
’Here we go... someone is going to act like a hero.’
’Are all protagonists that love heroic acts like this...? My fucking lust, be original for once.’
"Hey," Apollo said, and his voice was so casually commanding that it made everyone in the now-quiet canteen turn to look at him at once.
He walked toward the group with his hands at his sides and a look on his face that wasn’t angry, which somehow worsened it for the three bullies. They could have dealt with anger.
His expression was just... surety. "That’s not going to happen."
The student with broad shoulders turned. He was taller and heavier than Apollo, and there were two people behind him.
Apollo’s face didn’t show that any of that was a relevant calculation.
’Oh... I hate this fucking troupe... where the protagonist is built like a noodle and the bully is built like a fucking tank but still lost.’
’And I’m going to make him face reality soon enough with that.’
"Don’t get involved, Brightsoul," the student said.
"Can’t," Apollo said with a shrug. "Not really built for it..."
He stepped between the two younger students and the three older ones without making it look like he was making a tactical decision. "Now, you three, take your trays and go sit somewhere else."
The standoff lasted about four seconds, which was about how long it took for the three students to look around the now-watching canteen and realize that everyone in the room was paying attention and had already, in the minds of several hundred people, decided where their sympathies lay.
Even if they walked away after four seconds, they were still walking away. After thirty seconds, walking away was a retreat.
They went away without saying a word, knowing that they can’t mess with the strongest student in the grand academy.
Apollo picked up the tray that had fallen and put it on the nearest counter. He then said something to the two younger students who made them both look a lot less pale.
After that, he went back to the table, sat down in his chair, and picked up his fork.
"Sorry about that," he said, as if he had been the one making things hard.
The canteen was already getting back to its normal level of noise, but a few nearby tables were looking at Apollo with the look of people adding something to a mental list. Rex followed it without anyone knowing.
Rex asked, "Do you do that a lot?"
Apollo shrugged. "When it comes up."
He ate a bite of his meal. "I should just teach them a real lesson for how often it comes up."
Talyra smiled at Apollo in a way that was so open and honest that Rex had to work hard not to find it interesting from a strategic perspective.
Aisella was holding her cup with both hands and looking at the table. Her soft expression conveyed everything about her unspoken thoughts.
Rex took his fork and went back to eating.
’Those bullies... it seems like I can use them for my plan so that I don’t have to do all the dirty work.’
’But... I just need to hope that they don’t turn out like that bandit who loses himself because of that damn vial’
He already knew the faces of three of the bullies. He had written down the names of the bullies, the year they appeared to be in, and how they interacted with one another.
If he knew how to use them, people like that would be tools. They were also threats if he didn’t look after them.
He would determine whether they were tools, threats, or something else entirely.
...
The Academy let out in the late afternoon, when the light turned golden and the shadows in the courtyard grew long.
Rex had spent the second half of the day in an elective session on practical energy management. He found it a little more interesting than the morning theory block because it was hands-on and he could see more about what the other students could really do instead of what they said they could do in the introductions.
"It’s finally over just for today..." He said while doing many arm stretches. "Now... there’s a lot going on in my mind, and it seems like I have to deal with it one by one so that I can get even stronger."
’If I wanted to destroy Apollo by lowering his defense, then I needed some other skill I needed the most. For now, I’ll ignore the Adaptation and Immortality.’
’I will think of that again after I get back to the inn...’ He went through the carved doors at the main entrance and into the big plaza outside.
And then Rex saw them halfway down the main steps.
’Oh great... it’s them...’
There’s Lily and even Lilith waiting for him outside.
Lily was standing near the stone railing at the edge of the plaza, which looked out over the lower road. She had changed into something that looked like she had put some thought into it.
She wore a light blue dress that struck the perfect balance between casual and planned. She crossed her arms and attempted to project a neutral expression of waiting.
And there’s Lilith next to her.
Lilith looked like she belonged in the city when she was in human form. She had dark hair, olive skin, and clothes that she had apparently found between dawn and now that were elegant but not showy.
She was watching the entrance to the Academy with the patient focus of someone who had been good for a while and was now ready to get a reward.
Rex slowed down a little. ’What the fuck is that succubus doing here again...? I did send her off to stop coming here, or she’ll blow the cover!’
They were close enough to show they had been there a while, and they weren’t fighting. Lily had apparently come to some kind of agreement with herself about Lilith’s presence, at least for now, and Lilith was acting like she was really trying.
As soon as they saw him, they couldn’t hold back anymore.
"Master!"
"Rex!"
