The Magic Academy's Physicist-Chapter 214: From Master to Slave (15)
Chapter 214: From Master to Slave (15)
Cold hostility filled Klais’ eyes.
“You, what did you just.......”
She learned which sister’s name it was. Klara Hasfeldt, her older sister with the smallest age difference.
And since there was the least gap between their ages, they spent that much more time together. Ever since she was young, Klais would listen well to Klara.
And when she had heard that that sister went missing on enemy territory, Klais became even more obsessed with magical research.
After learning that Klara was alive, Klais’ face brightened like a flower in full bloom. But soon, it fell.
“You, gouged out her eyes...?”
“Ah, is that it? You know each other, perhaps?”
Gilach cut in without caring, then his eyes scanned over every inch of Klais’ ragged appearance.
“Aha, I see.”
At this point, it would be strange for him to not realize.
Gilach smiled like he understood, polishing his hook. His gaze was one that seemed to overwhelm the opponent, but Klais didn’t step down.
Klais’ eyes turned sharp, and she unwaveringly shot a look of hostility in Gilach’s direction.
Gilach let out a small ‘oho’, his lips twisting coldly.
Cold air descended like they had entered a freezer. Klais’ carnelian eyes locked with Gilach’s moonlight ones.
Klais and Gilach each had something to say.
It was Klais who was about to go first; there were things she needed to ask Gilach about her sister.
What did you say just now, what are you doing to my sister–and after pressing him for details, she was going to crush him if his response was weird.
However–
“Gwaaaah......!”
Klais was currently a slave. Forget standing up to Gilach, she was someone who had to be subservient to Aether.
Aether, who had jerked on Klais’ leash, spoke irritably.
“Do not speak to others without my permission.”
Aether caught Klais who had been about to go tumbling, then pretty much tossed her to the back. Having been choked all of a sudden, Klais couldn’t do anything but cough.
While Klais caught her breath, Aether stepped forward and snapped her head up.
Uranium-like eyes met moons.
“I have not seen your slave since that day. If you don’t have any business, then go away.”
“No, there’s one more thing. That woman behind you, would she by any chance be family or something of that slave bitch of mine? Uhuhu!”
Gilach twisted his lips and chuckled.
“She must be the older or younger sister judging from her earlier reaction. Am I wrong?”
“I do not know. Am I supposed to care?”
“It’s a reasonable suspicion. It has to be, no? They even look similar.......”
“There are countless blondes with red eyes in the Empire.”
It was then that Klais realized that it wouldn’t be good for Gilach to find out the relationship between her and her sister.
“That slave, what’s her name?”
“There isn’t one.”
“What do you mean, she would’ve had one before she got captured, no? Kuhuhu!”
“I’ve never asked.”
Aether jerked on the leash once more. Klais’ hair was grabbed as she drooled.
“A lowly slave bitch doesn’t need a name. Isn’t that so?”
“Aha.... I see. Come to think of it, you’re right. It’s normal to call prisoners by number or alphabet!”
“There you go.”
“So, would you mind handing that slave over to me?”
The corner of Gilach’s mouth drew into a long bow.
Aether already knew that Gilach had long since realized Klara and Klais being sisters.
He liked taking from others but hated having his own things taken. He was going to try and take Klais for sure. He’d put them together and do all sorts of evil things like torture them in turns or make them betray each other. Or stick them together and create a postnatural Siamese twin.
They were things that weren’t useful at all. Most of all, Aether had no intentions of losing her research slave.
Anyway.
“......Hand over?”
“Yes, ‘hand over’. I just happened to get an idea.”
“Don’t even talk about any handing over if you don’t want to kick the bucket. This slave is my property.”
“Then you better give me back my toy.”
“Why does it work that way?”
“Because it can’t be anyone other than you.”
The Eight Iron Formation’s Sector Zero–a place that wasn’t easy to go in or get out. In order to escape, one had to avoid the eyes of every management staff.
There were even hundreds of Beasts a day that visited that facility. A mere prisoner couldn’t have escaped on their own.
So.
Gilach was assuming that Aether had stolen Klara away.
“And I am telling you it isn’t. Did you even ask the management staff?”
“I did, and they said that no one saw her. Geez, are they all keeping silent or something?”
“Don’t be ridiculous.”
“Hmm.”
“Take a look at the lab if you are that doubtful. Then you’ll see.”
“Then I will.”
In the end, Gilach searched every inch of Aether’s room. Not only that, he ransacked all the places where Klara might be like stirring up a hornet’s nest.
Klara Hasfeldt was nowhere to be found. Having been sure, Gilach’s eyes curved down like stock charts.
“Weird. Why isn’t she here?”
“Because she isn’t. If you’ve finished, get lost.”
“Hmmmm.”
Teeth grinding, Gilach left looking quite displeased.
**“Huu.”
Lighting another cigarette, she zoomed out Scope and saw Gilach moving further away from Aether.
On a chair, Rosemary giggled.
“What a complete idiot. Of course they’d be silenced about something like this.”
She’d rigged the wires of all the Beasts she’d encountered at the Iron Formations. They were low-level Beasts who had no character anyway, so it had been easy to deal with them.
Things like these were best taken care of in advance; she’d die if she was caught, after all.
Rosemary turned her head and looked at Klara. Klara looked like she still didn’t know what was going on.
Understandably, because she hadn’t told her anything yet.
And she wasn’t going to, anyway. Even if she did, she wouldn’t believe her.
As if she would if someone who had been an enemy until yesterday suddenly went ‘We’ll save the world from ending together!’
It was better to give her the minimum treatment and act unkindly.
Rosemary put her feet up on the bed that Klara was sitting on and asked.
“Hey, you. How close are you with your sister?”
“...Why do you ask?”
“Because I’m wondering if I can just kill her if you aren’t that close.”
Behind the black-feather fan, Rosemary started giggling. The curved crescents of her eyes were alluring yet savage, looking like a villainess.
Actually, she had no intentions to kill her. Klais was sis’ slave, so for what reason would Rosemary do that?
To put it simply, she was just testing her.
“You, you bastard......!”
Klara kicked off the covers and leapt up.
As a lady of the Hasfeldt family, she would’ve learned at least a bit of politics, She’d know that the comment was just to get a feel.
Yet she was reacting this emotionally.
This confirmed it–Klara very deeply cared for Klais.
“What are you planning to do to my sister...!”
“Mm, if it weren’t for you, I probably would’ve used her as research material without anyone knowing.”
“So you were being nice because.......”

“This is why I hate smart brats. Kyahahaha!!”
Rosemary held her stomach and laughed away.
“...Yeah, that’s right. I said I’d let you meet your sister soon, right? You’d better get excited because something very interesting is going to happen.”
“You heartless fiend! How could you hold my family hostage? Are you even...!”
Klara’s words were cut short, her leash having been yanked.
“Guh, kehugh......!”
“You don’t get it, do you. I’m a Beast, a Cataclysm. You’ve heard about the Great Nine Mechas, right?”
Who wouldn’t know the famous Great Nine Mechas?
When she was young, Klara had sat down with Klais, who couldn’t read yet, and read books to her in place of her late mother. By then Klara had learned what a Beast was and that there were these Great Nine Mechas as well.
The book had been a fairy tale for childrens, with Beasts always being the bad guys while mages of the Empire were the heroes.
And that Beast was right in front of her.
“Did the Elementals in your body not tell you that an evil monster is what’s in front of you?”
“Damn, it.......”
Even while choking, Klara glared at Rosemary with burning eyes.
“Seeing as you have energy to get angry, seems like you’ve recovered most of your strength. That’s good. There’s lots to see and it isn’t fun if you fall asleep before the movie starts.”
Just for that?
That was why she had set that table-breaking feast for her?
Puuull. 꽈악.
The pull on the leash was getting stronger.
“Augh, ack, kahck......!”
She couldn’t think.
Her throat was being choked. She couldn’t breathe. Rosemary didn’t loosen up until Klara’s face turned white.
The hand holding the leash trembled subtly. The aftereffects of White Night made it difficult for her to control her power.
Fwump.
Eventually, Klara passed out on the spot.
Did she faint? Rosemary tapped on Klara who had collapsed. She fainted. It didn’t seem like she was going to wake up no matter what she did to her right now.
“Sorry, but hey.”
We both need to live.
Rosemary pulled back the covers and lay Klara straight on it. Right after feeding her yesterday, she had dressed Klara, who had looked ragged, in decent clothes.
It was about time to take away what she gave her; that was the only way the plan would work.
Rosemary carefully unbuttoned the clothes that Klara was wearing.
