The Necromancer is amassing troops like crazy in the apocalypse-Chapter 472 - 387, The Conspiracy of the Hand of the Demon
Chapter 472: Chapter 387, The Conspiracy of the Hand of the Demon
“Damn it, why are there so many undead?”
“They’ve come for revenge, they’ve crawled out to avenge themselves.”
“What are we going to do, the ship’s been taken over by the undead, how can we leave?”
The drunken pirates instantly sobered up.
They exclaimed in shock while frantically putting on their armor.
They were pirates.
...
They had thought about facing retribution.
But they hadn’t killed this many people in their lifetimes, it was as if all the people killed by pirates were being blamed on them.
The pirate captain’s face showed horror as his eyes rapidly swept over his surroundings.
He mulled over ways to retreat.
This was an isolated island, without a ship they had no chance to escape.
And they couldn’t rely on swimming to reach other shores.
Seeing no other way out, the captain drew his weapon and yelled, “Shut up, we’re all damn pirates, what’s there to panic about, these skeletons aren’t that smart. Follow me, we’ll circle around and then take back the ship.”
The pirates, though panicked, still drew their weapons and followed the captain as they started to run toward one side.
They planned to lead the skeletons in a circle.
Then take the opportunity to seize back the ship.
The undead chased after them with large strides as they circled around the pirates.
…
In the midst of the skeletons, Wu Heng, utilizing “Divine Presence,” placed his consciousness within an ordinary skeleton.
He adjusted the helmet on his head.
He focused on the pirates wandering and circling in the distance.
With a gesture of his weapon, a large swath of skeletons around him immediately surged in several directions.
They trapped the circling pirates in the middle.
The next second, the skeletons started to tighten the encirclement and surged toward the pirates.
In the blink of an eye, the pirates were overwhelmed by the skeletons, with only the sounds of chopping and wailing from beneath the skeletons to prove that the pirates were still resisting.
Gradually, the wails ceased.
The skeletons returned to a standby state.
…
At sea, Wu Heng deactivated the “Divine Presence” state, and Glenda flew back from afar.
“The pirates are all dead,” Glenda said.
“None managed to flee or hide?”
“Didn’t find any. There were only so many pirates, and you used so many skeletons, there’s nowhere to hide,” Glenda said.
“Right!” Wu Heng then directly commanded, “Move forward, head to shore.”
The cargo ship moved ahead once again, slowly heading to shore.
The island had once more fallen silent.
A large number of skeletons stood in place, in standby mode.
After a glance, Wu Heng ordered, “Clean up the battlefield, gather all the corpses and equipment.”
Rustle~!
The standby skeletons immediately got to work, beginning to clean up the battlefield.
Wu Heng, along with Kerim and Skull Crusher, then boarded the pirate ship in the rear to check out the goods inside.
All three ships contained quite a few goods.
Mostly cloth and leather goods.
Inside one of the cabins, they also found a large amount of gold coins, silver coins, and some gold and silver utensils.
All items were collected into the Space Satchel, then he directly exited the cabin and returned to the island.
The corpses had been gathered, the stench of blood piling up.
He had the skeletons drag out the pirate captain’s body, wrap it in a straw mat, and then store it in the Space Ring.
The rest of the bodies were turned into skeletons using [Corpse Battlefield].
He reopened the boundary door and had the skeletons that had been called over return to the other side.
Taking advantage of the skeletons entering the boundary door,
Wu Heng took out the [Conductor’s Hat] again, summoned the Phantom Train, and marked this location.
If he came back here again next time, there would be no need to take a ship; he could directly use the Phantom Train to arrive.
Once everything was dealt with,
He got back on board, commanding the other skeletons to pilot the seized ships, returning together to Gold and Silver Island.
He had originally thought about taking the Phantom Train back as well, with the skeletons sailing the ships back.
But after some consideration, he was worried something might go wrong.
A skeleton crew docking at the harbor could cause a panic if I weren’t around.
My departure from the island still needs to be kept a secret.
It’s better to be cautious.
Back in the cabin, I lay down on the ship for a short rest.
…
By the time I returned to Gold and Silver Island, it was already dusk the next day.
I called for a carriage to first deliver the bodies to the association’s morgue, and then I went back to my place.
Walking into the living room.
Mini and Andre Willow immediately came up to me.
“Master, you’re back! Wei’er and I were so worried about you!” Mini said, hugging my arm.
Andre Willow also hugged my other arm, her eyes conveying a gentle concern.
“Just a small task, nothing dangerous,” I said, wrapping my arms around them as we sat down on the couch. “Anything happen over the past few days?”
“Nothing much, just ‘Sha Naila’ came by for a visit. She sat for a while and asked why she hadn’t seen you,” Mini recounted. “I told her you had gone to catch a fugitive.”
“Hmm, nothing with the association either?” I asked, pulling the little fox girl closer to my side.
Andre Willow leaned cozily against my chest, murmuring softly, “Nothing happened at the association either.”
“Good, nothing to worry about then. What’s for dinner?”
“Just a moment, Master, it’ll be ready soon,” Mini said as she got up to hurry the skeletons in the kitchen.
The dinner was served quickly.
The three of us sat together and started our meal.
After dinner, the two ladies were in the courtyard, bathing the little owl.
Meanwhile, I went up to the third-floor radio room to contact Philippa.
“Philippa, are you there?”
“Yes, what’s up? Did you catch those stinking pirates?” Philippa asked.
“They’ve been taken care of.”
“Wow, you’re so efficient!”
“The bodies have been sent to the association for examination. Once their identities are confirmed, it will be credited to your information,” I continued.
“Oh good!”
“Keep up the effort. You’re just two instances short now.”
“Understood,” Philippa’s tone was full of determination.
“I’ve got nothing else. You get back to your tasks.”
“Alright.”
After ending the chat, I sat in the study for a while.
Mini prepared the bathwater, and with the two ladies attending, I took a very comfortable bath.
As night fell, we each returned to our rooms to rest.
Deep into the night, I suddenly opened my eyes.
Walking out of my room, I saw at the end of the hallway ‘Sha Naila’ carefully descending from the roof in her nightgown.
I dismissed the approaching skeleton guards and helped her down, asking, “Why didn’t you give me a heads-up?”
“I’m not going to send a paper crane message,” Sha Naila retorted with a glance, then asked, “You’re back but didn’t come to see me?”
“I had just returned and it was late, so I didn’t want to disturb you.”
“As if I’d believe that.”
I hoisted her in my arms and asked, “To the bedroom, or the study? The courtyard’s an option too.”
Sha Naila glared, “You think we’re going to the courtyard? Have you lost your mind?”
“Then let’s go to the bedroom.”
“Whatever, I’m already here delivering myself to you!”
With a smile, I carried her off toward the bedroom.
…
In a coastal city, at a nicely decorated tavern.
A man in a robe, with prayer beads around his neck and a book in one arm, showed up at the entrance of the tavern.
After a quick look around, he bent his knees slightly and leapt straight up.
Clinging to an open window on the second floor, he flipped himself inside.
While the room was empty, the bedroom inside emitted faint breathing sounds.
The man was about to step forward.
From inside the bedroom came a woman’s voice, “Captain of Hand of the Demon, what brings you to my quarters?”
The man stopped in his tracks, choosing not to enter the bedroom but to address her directly, “I’m here to propose a partnership, for a very lucrative deal.”
“Get lost, I find the sea stench on you repulsive; I have no interest in collaborating with you!” she retorted.
The man took a seat nearby and said, “Gold and Silver Island’s Vice-executive Wu Heng, Steward Imilo, interested now?”
