The Obsessive Tycoon Claims the Deserted Heiress-Chapter 187 - 184: Bother me again and watch out for your lives
Chapter 187: 184: Bother me again and watch out for your lives
The Bai Family’s business ventures are quite diverse; they dabble in almost anything as long as it makes money, so her words aren’t entirely false.
Only then did Shi Wei give the woman next to him a proper glance for two seconds, but the aura he exuded remained distant: "Tomorrow."
"Alright, I’ll relay that to my father." Bai Shirui nodded.
When the elevator was about to stop at the floor where he was staying, she politely bid him farewell. Beyond that, she had no intention of disturbing him further.
The unpleasant scent of perfume lingered in the air, and Shi Wei held his breath, subconsciously recalling the sweet fragrance that clung to his little girl’s body. He found himself missing her.
Striding quickly and purposefully, he returned to his room. Before he even rid himself of the day’s grime, he sank into the recliner and made a video call to the one he couldn’t stop thinking about.
"Shi Wei." The girl’s first words softly called his name in a clear, melodious voice, like a lingering caress, making the man’s ears tingle with pleasure.
She sat at the dressing table, casually towel-drying her damp, long hair. "Are you finished with work?"
"Hmm. Zhizhi, did you miss me?" Shi Wei fixed his gaze on her, his expression softening considerably—the chill in his demeanor entirely melting away in front of her.
Through the screen, he brushed his fingers along her cheek, wishing he could wipe away the glistening water droplets from her forehead with all the tenderness he could muster.
"I did." The girl pursed her lips shyly, her embarrassment evident. After a few more swipes at her hair, she simply draped the towel over her head.
Then she lifted her legs onto the stool, hugged her knees close, and stared at him without blinking.
"I missed Zhizhi too." A faint smile played on the man’s light pink lips, and the depths of his jet-black eyes were filled with delight and longing.
Ever since their relationship had been confirmed, this was the first time the two were separated, unable to meet for a full day.
For Shi Wei, even one day was enough to render him lovesick, as though without her, he was nothing more than a soulless machine.
The intensity of his emotions was so overwhelming that, even through the screen, Yu Zhi’s cheeks flushed red. Her eyelashes fluttered lightly. "What time will you be back tomorrow?"
"Probably around noon." Shi Wei’s gaze lingered on her dripping wet hair hanging over her shoulders.
His tone grew slightly urgent as he spoke. "Zhizhi, dry your hair first."
"But..." She had wanted to chat with him a bit longer.
Yu Zhi lowered her eyes slightly, as if she hadn’t heard what he’d said, her soft voice dropping even more: "Have you had dinner yet?"
Perhaps he caught some subtle hint in her fleeting expression, as a light and sensual chuckle escaped Shi Wei’s throat.
"Zhizhi, I’m going to take a shower first. Be good and dry your hair, okay?"
He coaxed her in a doting tone. The girl paused briefly before lifting her gaze, her lips pressed tight: "Then call me back later."
"Alright, be good, my love." After a few more words of affection, Shi Wei reluctantly ended the video call.
Afraid that his little girl might grow impatient, he quickly plugged in his phone to charge, took off his jacket, grabbed a bathrobe, and stepped into the bathroom.
*
The sound of rushing water echoed endlessly, and white mist seeped out through the door’s crevices, swirling around the bathroom and forming a veil of haze.
About twenty minutes later, the man strode out, his taut, long legs leading the way. The redness from his skin had yet to fade, and his slightly upward-slanted peach blossom eyes radiated a tender warmth so palpable they seemed ready to spill over.
Exhaling deeply, he fastened his robe neatly, tossed the towel aside without a care, then leaned lazily against the bedhead, phone in hand.
Just as he dialed the video call to his little girl, a smile tugging at his lips and ready to speak, the sound of the doorbell interrupted him.
"Zhizhi, wait for me." Shi Wei got up, walked to the door, and peered through the peephole.
Seeing it was a hotel waiter, his finely arched brows lifted slightly. He slipped the phone into his pocket, adjusted his attire once more, and opened the door.
"What’s the matter?" Shi Wei’s gaze cooled significantly as he looked at the person before him. The tenderness from earlier had completely vanished, replaced entirely by stoic indifference.
The waiter, dressed in a crisp black uniform, parked a gilded cart beside him. Crossing his hands politely in front of his abdomen, he greeted him with respect.
"Mr. Shi, these are sent by Miss Bai." He gestured to the items arranged on the cart, inviting the man’s gaze.
Among the items were a bottle of aged red wine, a covered plate of steak, and a diffuser labeled with words indicating it was for relaxation and sleep aid.
