The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 48
Kang Se-heon’s house felt suffocating.
As if being chased out, Kang In-hyuk rushed outside and took a deep, ragged breath. Only now, when he was finally able to inhale as much as he wanted, did he let his shoulders slump, completely drained.
The air had only been an excuse.
The truth was, he simply couldn’t stand properly in front of Kang Se-heon. That was why he hadn’t been able to breathe properly, why he had acted so pathetically.
“What the hell did I just do?”
He had only gone there to ask if Yoon Tae-seo was an Omega. That was it.
But instead, he hadn’t managed to ask the one question he wanted to. All he had done was throw a tantrum—one that Kang Se-heon would never fall for.
Kang In-hyuk let out a long sigh, unable to shake off his frustration.
This was all because of Yoon Tae-seo.
“Why the hell... right now of all times...”
He shouldn’t have gone to the café with Yoon Tae-seo.
If things had continued to be tense between them... If they had stayed as they were before... Then he really wouldn’t have given a damn about Yoon Tae-seo. And he definitely wouldn’t have ended up making a fool of himself in front of Kang Se-heon.
But Tae-seo had apologized to him. Said sorry. And because of that, their relationship had become this awkward, undefined mess.
Now, In-hyuk didn’t completely hate him anymore, but he also hadn’t fully opened his heart to him either.
And that—this tangled, chaotic mess of emotions—was fucking with him.
“This is all your fault, Yoon Tae-seo.”
❖
“See you next semester.”
The professor gave a final farewell, marking the end of the semester, before leaving the lecture hall.
At the same time, the remaining students stretched out, relieving their stiff limbs.
Among them, Park Han-soo stretched the most dramatically, yawning so wide that Tae-seo couldn’t help but lift his book to cover Han-soo’s open mouth.
“Seriously, we could’ve just turned in the exam and left. Why the hell does that professor insist on using up the full time?”
“So, you just slept through the whole thing? For a second, I thought you were a high schooler, not a college student.”
Tae-seo shook his head and lowered his book.
This final exam had been unnecessarily tedious. It wasn’t taken on a computer, nor were they allowed to leave once they were done.
No, they had to physically write out their answers, one by one, painstakingly filling in every detail. And they had to stay for the entire duration of the exam. It was just one of the professor’s stubborn rules.
“Well, at least we’re all done together. Otherwise, I’d have been bored to death waiting for you.”
Han-soo spoke as if it was obvious that he would’ve finished first and that Tae-seo would be the one taking his time.
And to be fair, he wasn’t wrong. All week, during every shared lecture, Han-soo had left first while Tae-seo stayed behind.
“I’m not even gonna ask if you did well. It’s you, Yoon Tae-seo. Of course, you aced it.”
“Well, we won’t know until the results are out.”
The grades Tae-seo had gotten in the past weren’t really his.
So, there was a chance that this time, things would turn out differently.
Not that he seemed all that worried about it.
“I thought I wouldn’t understand a damn thing.”
Honestly, even Tae-seo had been a bit surprised.
He wasn’t a freshman. He hadn’t even taken the midterms.
It made sense to worry that he wouldn’t have the prior knowledge needed to do well.
But when it came to the assignments, he had managed just fine.
At first, he had doubted himself, but this exam had confirmed it—
‘Do I... have all of Yoon Tae-seo’s knowledge in my head?’
That would be crazy.
Or maybe he was just naturally smart, and this test hadn’t been that hard after all.
Either way, it was something he would have to think about later.
‘First, I need to take care of Se-heon hyung.’
As he clicked his pen shut, a small grin played on his lips.
Seeing that, Han-soo scooted closer, nudging his hip against Tae-seo’s side.
“The exam’s over—what should we do now? Should we go drink?”
“I’m busy.”
“It’s break. What the hell could you be so busy with? You just don’t wanna drink with me?”
“Yep.”
Tae-seo smiled sweetly as he slipped his books into his bag.
Both statements were true.
He really was busy.
And he really didn’t want to drink with Han-soo.
More importantly, there was a baby growing inside him, which meant drinking was out of the question.
“That’s cold, man. If you just ditch your one and only friend like this... What, am I supposed to drink alone?”
“Yeah. Do that.”
Whether or not Han-soo actually only had one friend was debatable, but alcohol could be enjoyed alone just fine.
As Tae-seo slung his bag over his shoulder, Han-soo hurriedly stuffed his books into his own bag, shoving them in haphazardly.
“Come on, don’t be like that. Hang out with me.”
“Are you seriously telling me I’m your only friend? Really? Friend?”
“That’s right. Friend.”
Han-soo grabbed onto his bag strap and gave Tae-seo a desperate, pleading look.
Tae-seo sighed, shaking his head in mock sympathy.
“So this is why you cling to me so much.”
“My only friend is you.”
As if on cue, a passing classmate smacked Han-soo on the shoulder in greeting.
Han-soo turned to look, only to see the guy sticking his tongue out at him before walking off.
And then another person lightly tapped Han-soo’s shoulder as they passed, telling him to text them later.
Clearly, he had plenty of friends.
But the shameless way he continued insisting otherwise?
That was just peak Han-soo.
“Fine, let’s eat. But after today, don’t text me.”
“Why not tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow is important.”
It was the day he had promised to meet Kang Se-heon.
He had spent so much time preparing for it—there was no way in hell he was wasting that day on Han-soo.
“Actually, eating together is perfect. I had something I wanted to talk to you about anyway.”
Tae-seo wasn’t sure how much he would say, but at the very least, he was willing to buy Han-soo a meal.
After all, thanks to Han-soo, school had been a little less lonely.
That alone was enough reason to treat him once.
Of course, there was also the fact that, in the original story, Han-soo had been the one to witness Tae-seo’s final moments.
So he had never bothered to push Han-soo away.
Han-soo being a blabbermouth around his parents was annoying, but Tae-seo could live with that.
‘Maybe I should tell him about me and Se-heon hyung.’
Maybe even about the pregnancy.
But he hadn’t decided yet.
If he felt like it, he would.
If not, he wouldn’t.
“Just a meal? That’s kind of disappointing, but... Well, if it’s what my dear Tae-seo wants— Oh?”
Han-soo’s words cut off as his eyes landed on someone behind Tae-seo.
“In-hyuk! How’d your exam go?”
At Han-soo’s call, Tae-seo turned around.
They had been in the same lecture, but sitting on opposite ends of the room, so they hadn’t expected to run into each other.
And yet, Kang In-hyuk was standing right there.
Not looking at Han-soo.
But staring directly at Tae-seo.
Of all times, why did he have to come up now?
Tae-seo wasn’t short by any means, but In-hyuk was taller.
Not that it mattered—Se-heon hyung was even taller.
‘Wait. What the hell am I thinking?’
This wasn’t some stupid kid’s height competition.
And even if he was short, what °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° did Kang Se-heon have to do with any of this?
Tae-seo gave a small shake of his head and looked up at In-hyuk.
“What do you want?”
For the second time, Kang In-hyuk was the one to start the conversation.
It was strange.
At the café, Tae-seo had apologized, and they had parted on somewhat decent terms.
By his standards, things were fine now—as long as they weren’t growling at each other every time they met, that meant their relationship had improved.
But apparently, that was only his perspective.
In-hyuk ignored Tae-seo’s question, just staring at him in silence, an unbearable weight behind his gaze.
He clearly had something to say, but his lips remained tightly shut.
The awkwardness dragged on, becoming too much for Tae-seo alone to bear.
“What’s wrong with him? And what’s with those creepy-ass eyes?”
Park Han-soo muttered, looking at In-hyuk like he was some kind of weirdo.
Tae-seo gave a subtle nod in agreement.
The way In-hyuk’s pupils wavered made it uncomfortable to even look at him.
Meanwhile, Kang In-hyuk noticed how his faintly released pheromones wrapped around Tae-seo, and for some reason, it gave him a strange sense of satisfaction.
He didn’t know why, but it felt... good.
Like Tae-seo was his.
...Which made no fucking sense.
‘But why isn’t he reacting to my pheromones?’
If Tae-seo was an Omega, he should be able to sense them.
Or at the very least, his own Omega pheromones should be leaking out in response.
Had his mother been wrong?
The longer In-hyuk stayed silent, the more uneasy Tae-seo became.
Then, belatedly, a thought struck him.
‘Ah.’
He understood why In-hyuk was just standing there, staring at him without a word.
He was probably going to bring up the fact that Tae-seo still hadn’t apologized to Seo Da-rae.
Tae-seo glanced at Han-soo, then barely moved his lips as he whispered.
“I’ll talk to Da-rae later, so you don’t have to worry about it.”
“You’re gonna do what to Da-rae?”
Damn it.
That was on him for thinking Han-soo wouldn’t hear.
Tae-seo pushed away the chin Han-soo had rested on his shoulder.
“It’s not about Da-rae. It’s something else.”
Apparently, Seo Da-rae was the magic word, because the second his name was mentioned, In-hyuk finally opened his mouth.
“Something else? I already said everything last time.”
Tae-seo frowned.
If it wasn’t about Da-rae, then what the hell did this guy still have to say to him?
He blinked up at In-hyuk, his eyes wide, almost as if he was daring him to spit it out.
“Not that... something else...”
“Wait. In-hyuk, hold on a second. You’re not about to drag Tae-seo off somewhere alone, are you? We’re supposed to go eat.”
Han-soo raised both hands and wedged himself between them, cutting off whatever In-hyuk was about to say.
He was making it clear—he had already made plans with Tae-seo first.
“If you’re gonna eat with us, fine. But if you’re just trying to take Tae-seo away, then forget it.”
Han-soo said firmly, his stance practically screaming that there was no way in hell he was letting Tae-seo go.
At that, In-hyuk’s brow twitched slightly.
Han-soo had read him correctly.
“...Let’s meet tomorrow.”
In-hyuk let out a sigh as he spoke.
What he needed to say wasn’t something just anyone could overhear.
But dealing with Han-soo’s stubbornness right now felt like more trouble than it was worth.
So instead of arguing, he just postponed it altogether.
His gaze clearly told Han-soo to move, but Han-soo didn’t budge.
“Well, that’s not gonna work for me.”
Tae-seo said simply, blinking as he spoke.
He completely ignored the way In-hyuk’s expression stiffened in annoyance.

It wasn’t like he had any reason to cater to In-hyuk’s mood.
Hell, just not outright rejecting him was already more than enough courtesy.
“I won’t take up much of your time. Just for a moment.”
“Not even a moment.”
“Tae-seo, don’t mess around. It’s important.”
“So is mine.”
Tae-seo parroted back his words, his voice light and almost playful.
But he wasn’t joking.
“I actually have something really important tomorrow. So I don’t have time for you—not even for a second.”
“...And what exactly is so important?”
In-hyuk muttered, his irritation barely concealed.
“Hmm...”
Tomorrow was the day he would define his relationship with Kang Se-heon.
A decisive day.
Tae-seo hesitated for a brief moment before brushing past In-hyuk and answering.
“It’s the day I make him mine.”
