The mutated dog circled around Sylas slowly as it growled.

The wind swirled around its body unnaturally, lifting dust into the air. Then the wind started to become violent, despite there being no natural breeze.

Then it disappeared in an instant.

Sylas’s pupils shrank.

Too fast! Sylas quickly raised the space barrier around his body.

A violent gust slammed into Sylas’s side with a bang, sending ripples across the surface of the space barrier.

Bang!

Sylas was thrown several meters away, rolling across the cracked road. Before he could stabilize himself, sharp wind blades sliced toward him from different angles.

Slash! Slash!

Sylas waved his hand and raised his space barrier just in time.

Clang! Clang!

The wind blades slammed into the barrier.

’It can use wind blades just like my spatial blades!’ Sylas thought, shocked by the sudden wind blade attack.

"This thing..." Sylas muttered through clenched teeth. This fight was going to be tricky.

The dog appeared again, this time behind him.

Sylas sensed it at the last moment and twisted his body.

The mutated dog’s claws tore through the air where Sylas had been standing. The wind around its claws condensed, increasing the cutting force.

Sylas waved his hand.

Spatial blades shot out in a wide arc.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

The mutated dog leaped upward. It used the wind beneath its paws to change direction midair. The blades sliced through the road instead, leaving deep and clean gashes.

The dog landed lightly on a streetlight pole. Wind gathered around its body again.

Whoosh!

The dog vanished again.

Sylas stomped his foot hard.

Crack!

Earth energy surged outward from beneath his foot. Then, within seconds, stone plates burst from the ground, forming uneven terrain.

Bang!

The dog slammed into one of the stone plates.

Growl!

The dog growled as it flipped backward before landing smoothly several meters away from the stone plates.

Growl.

The dog shook its body, and the wind around it started swirling even faster. This time, the air compressed violently around its mouth.

Sylas’s eyes narrowed.

A wind bullet shot out.

Boom!

The compressed air slammed into Sylas’s barrier, exploding on impact. The shockwave ripped apart nearby abandoned cars, flipping one onto its side.

Sylas felt his arms go numb.

"So strong..." he muttered.

The dog didn’t give him time to breathe. It rushed again.

Sylas slammed his hand downward.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Stone spikes erupted from the ground in a wide area. The dog ran straight toward them. At the last second, wind exploded beneath its paws. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Boom!

It leaped over the stone spikes effortlessly, twisting midair.

Sylas flicked his wrist and a compressed spatial blade formed.

Slash!

The blade tore through the air.

The dog twisted its body sharply to avoid the compressed spatial blade. But the blade still cut across its shoulder. Blood sprayed out, splattering onto the road.

Bark!

The mutated dog howled in pain, but instead of retreating, its killing intent intensified as it glared murderously at Sylas.

The wind around the mutated dog became violent again.

The trees on the side of the road started shaking, and the windows of the abandoned cars nearby shattered one after another.

The dog opened its mouth and barked loudly.

A spiral of wind formed and rushed toward Sylas like a drill.

Sylas crossed his arms and reinforced his space barrier.

Sylas’s senses immediately sensed the dog behind him within seconds.

Behind! So fast? Sylas thought as he twisted his body and raised a space barrier at the last second.

The mutated dog crashed into the barrier with terrifying force. The barrier shattered instantly.

Sylas was sent flying like a ragdoll, crashing into a shop wall.

Cough!

Blood leaked from the corner of his mouth. Before he could recover, the dog was already above him. Wind gathered around its claws.

Sylas slammed both hands onto the ground.

Boom!

A thick earth wall shot up between them.

Clang!

The dog smashed through the wall like paper. Sylas quickly raised his hand, and a spatial blade pierced forward.

Slash!

The blade pierced through the dog’s chest. The dog froze midair, and blood started to pour out.

Bark!

It landed heavily on the ground but didn’t die. Instead, the wind exploded outward violently.

Boom!!!

Sylas was blown away again, crashing across the road.

The dog staggered but forced itself back up. Its breathing was ragged now, and blood soaked its grey fur.

The dog stubbornly rushed at Sylas again with a sharp and violent gust of wind accompanying it.

Sylas wiped away the blood from his mouth and raised his eyes to look at the dog that was coming at him.

This time, he gathered both abilities. Earth energy surged beneath the dog.

Crack! Crack!

Stone chains burst from the ground, wrapping around its legs.

The dog snarled and released a violent wind shockwave.

Bang!

The chains shattered, but its movement slowed again. Seizing the opportunity, Sylas formed a compressed spatial blade, denser and sharper than before. The air around it distorted violently as the compressed spatial blade shot out.

The dog sensed danger and wanted to dodge, but it was too late.

Boom!

Sylas stomped again, and the ground rose, forming a circular earth wall around them.

The dog leaped upward.

Slash!

The blade flashed, cutting straight through the dog’s neck. Blood sprayed into the air, and the mutated dog’s head flew off.

The mutated dog’s body ran several more steps before collapsing heavily onto the road.

Thud.

The wind scattered instantly.

Sylas placed his palms on his chest and coughed violently. His breathing was heavy, and his chest rose and fell violently as beads of sweat dripped down from his forehead.

"That was dangerous," he muttered.

He walked forward and cut open the dog’s head.

Inside was a milky-white energy stone the size of a marble.

"A high-level wind ability energy stone..." Sylas muttered before tossing it into his space.
