The python slammed against the space barrier after it shattered the earth barrier.

Sylas stumbled back a few steps, and the spatial rift he opened up started to become unstable. He quickly stabilized his footing, and at the same time, more space energy surged out from him, stabilizing the spatial rift. If he lost control over the spatial rift, it would be dangerous. Gritting his teeth, Sylas pushed the spatial rift towards the python.

The python sensed danger approaching it and dodged sideways. But Sylas wasn't going to let it go. The spatial rift slammed towards the python.

The python opened its mouth, and sound waves rippled out, but they didn't have any effect on the spatial rift. It swung its tail, and the nearby trees shattered and went straight at Sylas.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Splinters of trees slammed into the space barrier. Sylas was focused on the spatial rift, and he was not worried as long as his space barrier could protect him.

The python moved very fast and avoided the spatial rift.

The spatial rift sucked in the objects along its way. The python, sensing danger from the spatial rift, slithered away far from it. It easily navigated through the forest as it fled from it.

From time to time, it turned towards Sylas and spat out green venomous liquid.

Sylas raised the spatial rift in front of him, although he didn't dare to let it come too close to him. It was still okay to defend against the snake's venom.

Seeing the python fleeing away, Sylas sped up, and at the same time, space energy surged out wildly. The spatial rift distorted, and it slammed into the python. As soon as it slammed into the python, its body was shredded.

The python shrieked, but the suction force from the spatial rift was so strong that it was no longer able to flee. Sylas controlled the spatial rift as it turned the python's body into minced meat, leaving only the snake's head.

Before the spatial rift could touch the snake's head, Sylas withdrew his space energy and immediately closed the spatial rift.

As soon as he withdrew his spatial energy, Sylas staggered sideways. He quickly held onto a nearby tree for support.

Every time he opened the spatial rift, his energy would be drained quickly, leaving him exhausted.

After catching his breath, Sylas walked towards the snake's head, which was still rolling its eyes. It flickered its tongue at Sylas.

"Still so tough..." Sylas muttered under his breath.

As Sylas got close to it, the python immediately shot out green venom at him.

Sylas's pupils constricted, and he immediately shot backward at great speed. At the same time, he erected a space barrier in front of him.

Sizzle!

The venom splashed onto the space barrier, and the barrier rippled, but it was not strong enough to corrode it.

"What the hell!" Sylas cursed and immediately condensed a compressed spatial blade and slashed it straight at the snake's head.

The python hissed when it saw the incoming compressed spatial blade attack, but it was not able to move, and its head was immediately cleanly split into parts.

Sylas took a deep breath and approached the python's head. It was truly dead this time.

Sylas looked inside the python's head, and to his surprise, he didn't find any energy stone inside it.

He smashed open the python's head, turning it into a paste of flesh, but he still couldn't find the energy stone.

'Strange... very strange...,' Sylas thought as he crossed his arms and looked at the paste of flesh.

This was the second time he had encountered something like this.

The first was the high-level zombie he encountered after leaving N City. And this time, it was a mutated python. Both of them didn't have energy stones.

'Is it a coincidence?' Sylas thought. So far, he had found energy stones on all the high-level creatures he had fought except these two.

A high-level mutated creature without an energy stone... how is this possible? Sylas thought.

Suddenly, Sylas thought of something and immediately furrowed his brows.

"They both have something in common..." Sylas uttered as he thought deeply about it.

That high-level child zombie couldn't use mental attacks, and now this python wasn't able to use its sound ability properly. Moreover, its sound ability was far weaker than its strength; it didn't match its high-level strength.

"Something feels off..." Sylas muttered as he turned back and headed out of the forest.

There were no other mutated creatures in the way, and within a few minutes, Sylas got out of the forest.

When he stepped onto the road, everyone immediately looked at him worriedly.

"Are you alright?"

"What was that?"

"What happened?"

Everyone immediately showed concern. Sylas assured everyone and said, "It was a mutated snake, but don't worry. I have already dealt with it. Just stay alert."

"Another mutated snake?" Dylan asked with a frown.

Sylas dusted off his clothes and replied, "Yes, it was very huge. Far stronger and bigger than last night's."

"Bad snakes... brother, snakes are bad," Dudu said, peeking out from behind Dylan.

Sylas went towards him and squatted down to ruffle Dudu's hair. "Don't worry, there are no more bad snakes."

Sylas was feeling a little regretful. He had planned to give the energy stone from the python to Dudu since it had a sound ability.

"Major, I have something to tell you," Sylas looked towards Major Kyle and said as he got up.

"Let's get inside my car," Major Kyle immediately led the way. He knew that Sylas wanting to speak to him alone meant that it was something important.

Sylas followed him towards the car. After getting inside, Sylas immediately raised a space barrier.

Major Kyle raised his brows seeing Sylas's actions.

Seeing the confused look on Major Kyle's face, Sylas said, "I just found out recently that people won't be able to eavesdrop if I am inside the space barrier."

Major Kyle nodded his head and said, "Since you have raised a spatial barrier to prevent others from hearing our conversation, it means you have something important to share. What is it?"

"Yes, I have encountered something very strange recently, and I don't know whether it's a coincidence or something deeper..." Sylas said and immediately explained his encounter with the high-level child zombie and the python.

After listening to Sylas' words, Major Kyle was also intrigued.

"No energy stones... high-level but no mental energy and weak sound ability... strange, very strange..." Major Kyle muttered in deep thought.

"Something feels very off about these two, so I thought I would inform you before telling others," Sylas said to Major Kyle.

Major Kyle nodded his head and replied, "I will inform the ability users to report it to me if they encounter something similar to this."

"Major, what do you think about this?" Sylas asked Major Kyle.

Major Kyle leaned back on his car seat and replied, "I am not sure, but I also think they are very weird. To become a high-level creature without forming a core definitely feels off. Sylas, if you encounter one again, try to store its body in your space. If we can let the researchers have a look at it after reaching the capital, maybe we can find something."

Sylas nodded his head in agreement.

After they finished discussing, Major Kyle immediately instructed the soldiers and survivors to start the cars, and they drove towards the bridge where Shaun was repairing it.

The cars were parked near the bridge, and the soldiers and ability users took turns guarding the cars and Shuan.

It would take time to repair the whole bridge, so Sylas took this time to rest. His energy was drained after fighting the python, and without consuming an energy stone, his energy would take time to replenish.

Sylas closed his eyes and rested inside the car. Although he was resting, he was still on guard because he could still feel the dangerous aura emanating from the river. He had already warned everyone not to go near the river.

Shuan repaired the bridge continuously for the whole day. Major Kyle gave him several zombie energy stones so that he could replenish his energy quickly.

By the end of the day, he was so exhausted even with the energy stones.

Major Kyle patted him on the shoulders and said, "You have worked hard. Rest tonight."

Shuan nodded his head. He had almost finished repairing the bridge, and he would be able to complete it tomorrow.

Everyone rested inside the cars near the bridge that night. They took turns guarding it.

At midnight, when it was Sylas' turn to keep watch, he immediately spread out his senses and walked towards the bridge.

As he stepped onto the bridge, a space barrier formed behind him, and from his feet, earth energy surged out as it covered the bridge.

He wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with the bridge. Shuan had already repaired it, but with his ability, he was not able to repair it deeply. Sylas's earth energy surged out, going deep into the pillars and started repairing cracks where Shuan's ability was not able to reach.
