Chapter 668 - Killing Fusatsu

While they headed back to base, Hanwu asked Nan to slow down so he could enter his consciousness to talk to the Assault Giant. Between his strength and the Maw Giant’s persuasion, the Assault Giant eventually relented and agreed to help Hanwu.

With the energy from two Giant Sages, Hanwu was confident in dealing with Fusatsu. Back at base, almost everyone had left for their own missions, with only Fusatsu and Sigurd remaining.

When Fusatsu saw that they returned empty-handed, he assumed they had failed. “Well, the Assault Giant is more troublesome than the others. It’s fine if you fail. Go back and rest. I’ll notify you when we have another mission.”

Hanwu shook his head. “We captured the Assault Giant and sealed it in my body.”

“That’s good then,” Fusatsu said, thrilled. “The Assault Giant has a special role even among the Giant Sages. Capturing it will aid our goal tremendously.”

“What’s your goal?” Hanwu prodded.

In a good mood and satisfied with Hanwu’s success, Fusatsu decided to reveal his ambitions. “Rogue was established to capture all nine Giant Sages and fuse their blood into one body to induce the Sundering. This world is ugly and dirty. Each ninja village was formed from a mountain of corpses. They reek of the blood and tears of so many people. There’s no need for a world like this to exist!”

“What will you do after you destroy this world?”

“I will then rebuild it. We would be the owners of the world, and we would control everything,” Fusatsu proclaimed.

The man thought his ambitions were big, but Hanwu had seen the rise and fall of many civilizations and thought his goals were both childish and unrealistic.

The eight ninja villages had existed for a long time and had survived because they each had their own method of fighting. Using the nine Giant Sages to cause the Sundering did not guarantee the destruction of all eight ninja villages.

It was more likely that the eight ninja villages would unite to kill Fusatsu. Fortunately, Hanwu was a kind individual and didn’t want to see Fusatsu at the hands of the eight ninja villages.

So, he decided to kill Fusatsu today and stop the Sundering from happening at all. While Fusatsu was distracted with daydreams of the future, Hanwu quietly used Vortex Collapsing Fist to attack. Fusatsu never saw that attack coming.

Hanwu’s punch struck the defenseless Fusatsu, blasting him into a wall and leaving a human-shaped indent behind. Activating Flesh Ascendant, Hanwu continued his furious assault.

The sound of fists hitting flesh echoed in the chamber. Hanwu didn’t give Fusatsu a chance to get his bearings and continued his barrage of Vortex Collapsing Fists.

In between attacks, Fusatsu found a brief window to activate his ability and transform into a monster with four arms. This form allowed him to absorb the kinetic energy from Hanwu’s blows and turn it into one powerful counterattack. Once the energy reached the threshold of what he could endure, he would retaliate.

Hanwu already knew this from Nan. Yet, despite knowing Fusatsu’s ability, he chose to attack in this way. This was because Hanwu had his own considerations.

While Fusatsu could absorb the impact and kinetic energy of his blows, there was surely a limit. Hanwu would win the moment he could cause damage beyond what Fusatsu could absorb. Thus, he increased his rate of attack, even absorbing the energy in the air to increase the power of his blows.

At first, Fusatsu still managed to absorb them. He was waiting for an opening to retaliate with all of the absorbed kinetic energy. However, with every passing strike, the realization that something was amiss slowly dawned on him.

How was Hanwu continuously unleashing his Vortex Collapsing Fist without pause? It was as if Hanwu didn’t need chakra at all. That was when Fusatsu realized his mistake.

The Maw Giant and the Assault Giant within Hanwu were likely supplying him energy, meaning he would not run out any time soon. Deciding to forego the defensive, Fusatsu tried to attack.

He gathered the absorbed energy into a fist and prepared to attack when Hanwu accelerated his energy absorption rate while maintaining his assault. He used the energy to enhance the damage of his attacks.

The effect was noticeable. The damage of two fists was condensed into one. Paired with his speed, Fusatsu was sustaining blow after blow, making it nigh impossible for him to fight back.

Fusatsu could hardly even lift a finger. This could only end with his loss.

Nan had been watching from afar and saw that Fusatsu was about to be turned into minced meat. Hurrying over, Nan hastily sealed him. Fusatsu could no longer fight back.

Fearing Nan would dissect Fusatsu on the spot, Hanwu quickly questioned, “Tell me everything you know about Lord Huangquan, or face a fate worse than death.”

Fusatsu chuckled at Hanwu’s childishness. It had been a long time since he had feared death.

Hanwu frowned.

“Don’t worry,” Nan chimed in. “I’ll make sure that he tells you everything you need to know after I dissect him.”

“If I don’t get the information I need, you’re next,” Hanwu threatened.

Nan became visibly excited. “You’d better keep your word! Dying gloriously is one of my dreams.”

With that, Nan commenced his dissection of Fusatsu. At first, Fusatsu doggedly endured the pain, but as Nan went deeper, he became aware of the layer-by-layer separation of his flesh and scrape of Nan’s cold scalpel on his bones. Every sensation was harrowing beyond belief.

It didn’t take long before Nan was calling Hanwu over. Fusatsu was willing to tell him about Lord Huangquan in exchange for a swift death.

Hanwu agreed.
