Chapter 677 - Return Home

Outside of the Giant Shadow Civilization, the Divine Civilization’s ship drifted in the void.

Xu Hai studied the scene outside with admiration. “Who could’ve ever thought that the Giant Shadow Civilization was sitting on such a huge vein of Spirit Stones? Nature is truly amazing.”

The other lecturers and students could barely contain themselves. Before them lay a massive Spirit Stone mine. Even claiming a small portion would make it worthwhile. Moreover, they had come to invade another civilization, which meant its unique resources would become theirs. By every measure, this excursion had already proven to be fruitful.

Meanwhile, Han Wu paid no heed to that right now. He was more worried about Qin Shuang and Jing Jing.

He turned to Xu Hai. “Sir, I will bring them back first.”

Sun Qingnian stepped forward at once. “Han Wu, let me come with you!” 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

He was a playboy, but he was a good friend. During the war with the Heaven Stair Civilization, he had failed to protect Qin Shuang and Jing Jing. That failure had turned into a mental barrier. This was his only chance to correct it.

Han Wu didn’t stop him and nodded. “Let’s go.”

Lina, still in her signature tight purple skirt, watched with concern. Han Wu was a World life form that could do almost anything, but Sun Qingnian wasn’t. If danger arose, it was uncertain whether Han Wu could protect him.

After some consideration, Lina discreetly turned her most trusted unit into a card and slipped it into Sun Qingnian’s hand. She patted his shoulder, then gave it a quick squeeze. “Qingnian, be absolutely careful.”

Only the two knew what she meant.

Sun Qingnian nodded and accepted the card. “I will be careful, ba— Ms. Lina!”

Lina’s heart almost jumped out of her throat when he nearly called her baby. If the students and lecturers discovered their relationship, she would have nowhere to hide. After all, Sun Qingnian’s official girlfriend was Shi Shan.

Even though Shi Shan was still recovering and would need time to regain her strength, the issue of their messy relationship remained unresolved. The thought frustrated Lina.

Han Wu noticed none of it. He turned to Sun Qingnian. “Let’s depart.”

“Let’s go!”

“You can enter my Microcosm first to draft the battle plan.” Han Wu drew Sun Qingnian into his Microcosm, then leapt out and shot straight toward Lord Huangquan.

He used his potent World aura to lock onto Huangquan and caused him to stop mid-bite. He had no idea why Han Wu would single him out.

The Spirit Stone mine is huge. He could just find another place and mine for a long time. Why fight with me?

As he was thinking of that, Han Wu appeared in front of him. Only then did Huangquan see his face clearly, and shock seized him. The young man looked identical to the fruit in his Soul Kingdom. Even their auras matched. The only difference lay in their powers. One was a World life form. The other wasn’t.

Are they twins? he wondered.

Han Wu didn’t give him time to think. He released his World pressure and attacked at once. At the same time, his Death Aura Ring appeared behind him, turning death aura into burning black clouds that coiled around him.

The nearby World life form from the Ghoul Civilization thought Han Wu looked young and easy to bully, so he stealthily approached Han Wu from behind. He could never have imagined that Han Wu was monitoring his surroundings with unwavering focus.

The moment he attacked, Han Wu suddenly turned around, locked eyes with him, and said calmly, “Explode your head.”

He expended a large portion of his death aura to turn it into energy and activate his new technique, Proclamation of Death.

A pop echoed as the World life form’s head exploded. Strands of death aura were peeled away from his corpse and streamed into Han Wu’s black mark that resembled a planet tattoo. Karl, the Pluto, had branded him with it.

Han Wu didn’t know what the mark was for, but as more death aura flowed into him, he could feel that a new Microcosm composed of death aura was forming inside. The process was slow, but it was actually forming.

He soon realized that Karl’s brand provided a path for World life forms like him to grow. Compared to Stellar Plunder, this one absorbed the death aura of others to form Microcosms.

Huangquan felt a chill crawl up his spine when a fellow World life form died without warning. Even though he was stronger than the World life form that came from the Ghoul Civilization, the death aura radiating from Han Wu still made him tremble.

Outwardly, Huangquan remained calm. “Is there something you want from me?”

Han Wu nodded, his voice steady and resolute. “I’m here to kill you!”

Huangquan sensed the bloodlust behind the words and knew that Han Wu wasn’t bluffing. Thus, he decided to attack first. On the surface, he was ready to clash with Han Wu. In truth, he drew his consciousness back to his Soul Kingdom to capture Han Wu’s Divine Soul. He was smart and reasoned that the soul within the Soul Kingdom had to be linked to the Han Wu before him. As long as he could capture it, he could threaten Han Wu. That was how he would exact his revenge.

Unfortunately, Huangquan didn’t anticipate Han Wu’s next move. While he was busy controlling his consciousness to capture the soul, Han Wu tossed his Microcosm forward and slammed it into Huangquan’s own.

Huangquan almost laughed. He’s too young. He doesn’t even understand how World life forms fight. Microcosms are fragile, and he dares to cast his out so recklessly? Even if a tiny crack appears on the Microcosm from the impact, it will still harm him greatly!

Confident in the defensive measures he had placed on his abdomen, Huangquan expected to repel the attack with ease.

In the next instant, however, he was blasted backward.

Han Wu’s Microcosm had successfully connected with Huangquan’s Soul Kingdom.

Sun Qingnian, who had prepared himself for war, couldn’t retain his excitement when the lands between the two Microcosms connected.

“Everyone, destroy that planet of souls!” he barked.

A massive swarm of locusts and ranks of Foxmen charged into the Soul Kingdom. Thousands of billions of locusts darkened the sky, their numbers so vast they seemed ready to devour the very sun itself.

The moment they collided with the defending forces, the locusts started eating the souls before them. Under the Law of Gluttony’s effect, they could eat anything that had energy, including souls.

Han Wu grabbed the two girls and pulled them close. “Our escort has arrived. Time to return home!”

Qin Shuang was already crying tears of joy. “Let’s go home!”

Jing Jing nodded. “Home.”

She could already sense her corpse resting within Han Wu’s Microcosm, waiting for her soul to return.
