The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 342: A lovely walk- I
Anna woke me up and I was quite surprised to find that I had slept most of the day. It was only when she had woken me up in the late evening after the sun had gone down, that I was up.
"You should hurry," she smiled, "The letter from your sister and Solomon is going to be here soon."
But how could that be? Clearly, I had not slept for longer than just a day.
"But Tristan said that it was going to take him an entire day." I clearly remember his words. He had said the night after this one.
"Yes, but it has been made known that Solomon would be arriving today at midnight." She moved towards me and placed my slippers in front of my feet. "I do not know the reasons."
Other reason could it be? It had to be some kind of emergency that my sister was going through. It must have forced Solomon to come here at the earliest. Otherwise, what else could it be?
Sleeping my feet into the soft slippers, I followed Anna into the bathroom for a warm bath. It was a quick one, because I could not sit still, and it was quite understandable, it must be, because Anna hurried up as well.
I almost wanted to not take a bath today, but given that I was living with vampires, who had superior senses then I did, I changed my mind.
We ended up taking a lot more time than necessary to get me ready. I had to look presentable as someone who interested the king. I was not sure if the same happened with vampires or not, but it would be so in the human Kingdom. By the end of it, as I wore my shoes, in a hurry, I was practically running towards the dining room.
The guards could barely get the door open properly before I barged through. Tristan was already present and in a flash, he was in front of me with concern over his face. "What is it? Are you hirt?"
"No, no, I heard." I heaved loudly, breathless from the little run I had from the two floors. "I heard!" God, I could never managed to run!
"Heard what, Genevive?"
I gulped, my throat felt scratchy as I did that. "I heard about Solomon coming in tonight. Even supposed to come tomorrow. Why is he coming a day early? Is it not good news? Is my Sister in some kind of emergency?"
"Genevieve," he whispered, hushing me gently. "I was only sent the message that he is going to arrive in a few hours. Nothing except that."
So he did not have news just like I did? That was bad. I had hoped that since Tristan was the king, he would have sent some more information by Soloman that Anna did not have. But he was as empty handed as I was.
"What if it is something bad? Something so bad that my sister must have begged him to get the news to me as soon as possible. It can be anything! She could be dying for all I know!"
Honestly, I could not imagine my sister begging anyone. If, one day God forbid, but she was executed, Estelle would be someone who would never beg for her life to be spared.
"It is not going to be anything bad, Genevive. If it was an image and say that trust me, Solomon would have a drive during the day." Tristan placed his hands over my shoulders and squeezed them lightly before he gently pushed me to sit in the chair. "You have to stop worrying, at least until he receives the letter."
And how was I supposed to do that? Knowing that a letter was coming my way, and it was arriving a day earlier than it was supposed to, did not make me happy as it should have. But it only gave me more worries than I would have liked.
"Evie," Tristan’s hand on my cheek made me look at him. "Please, stop syncing about it. How about you eat something first?"
I had no appetite. At this point, I doubted if I could get anything down my throat.
"I do not know," I whispered to him. " I feel so worried that I do not think I can get anything down my throat at this point."
He seemed to think about it and nodded after a few seconds. "I think I understand where you are coming from but have some milk at least." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
I hardly thought that I could get down from my throat, but before I could voice of my opinion, Tristan already had a glass in his hands.
"Here," he placed the glass next to my lips and tilted my head up.
I took a small sip before moving my head away slightly and gulping it down. It was warm and of perfect temperature.
He repeated the action and I let him. Tristan did not look away from me and somehow, I was able to hold his state without shying away from him.
The action seemed so natural, but him. He was taking care of me and I liked him doing that. It felt like we fit and perfectly.
When the cup of milk was empty, he kept it on the table, but did not rise from his kneeling position in front of me.
"Thank you for that."
Tristan gave a shake of his head. "Do not thank me for taking care of you. There is something I will always stay without any gratitude in return."
My heart warmed with new feelings. Why did he have to say such things? He already had a place in my heart and he was warming his way into more of them.
"Until Solomon gets here, why don’t we take a lazy walk into Gardens?" He offered. "It could help you take your mind off."
"It could, yes." I agreed a little shyly. "I would love that."
