The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 346: The letter - II
<Tristan>
Making his way outside the office, Tristan waited at the other end of the wall with Solomon by his side.
"How did you find her sister?"
Solomon took a minute to think through. "Estelle is definitely the clever one out of the two, the tough one in fact. She did not trust me easily, and only with the jewel I handed her did she think twice to look at me."
She was, from what he had heard, indeed, clever in comparison to Genevieve.
But that was not all that was needed to run a kingdom.
"And, What of the country?"
"The usual I would say, the rich are getting rich and the poor are becoming poorer. Her crowning has not made a substantial difference in the state of the country at the moment." He huffed a little. "To see the effects more clearly, we would need to wait for at least a few months."
But they did not have months. If Estelle was even half intelligent of what Solomon and Geneveive had told him, Estelle would understand the importance of taking his help.
He had been studying the economy of Melenmore and even a little change could result in disastrous consequences for the country.
Estelle would definitely have to check twice before stepping into another direction.
"What more?" He probed. Solomon was his eyes in the kingdom of Melenmore and from what he had understood from Genevieve, the kingdom was just not doing well. She would not often dwell on the specifics that he wanted.
Solomon twisted his face into an unhappy expression, and that was all Kristen needed to know. They had discussed the condition of the country at a length and they had come to conclusions that they landed on. Apparently, it was the one they did not like.
"I do not think any more than one fourth of the court likes her at the moment. If they do, it is completely out of the fear because she has control of the Army and no one else."
"She has to act quickly and get the support of the people along with it and completely change the ministry. Otherwise, I believe it is only some time that she will be found dead." Solomon tsked. "As I said earlier, she is not as trusting as Lady Geneviève is. If you choose to help her, then you would have to send her too."
That was something he was not ready to do. There was no way he would send Genevive to a kingdom that was uncertain at the moment and an uprising could rise at any time.
Also, given that he would have to stay in the kingdom he was the king of, there was no way he would send her without him.
So, that option did not exist. He could not leave the country and she would not leave without him.
"If you choose to let her kingdom suffer, your relationship with her would suffer too." Dominic came strolling into the hallway. His volume was merely about the whisper as it always was. He knew he was going to be heard by everyone, so he did not bother raising his voice.
"Uncle." Tristan greeted while Solomon bowed.
"Nephew." Dominic nodded back. "I see the letter from another kingdom has arrived. Have you decided on what to do?"
"Not yet." Tristan answered, but it was an answer he did not like. Not knowing what to do was one of the worst options to have. It meant the outcome of the situation might not be in his favor.
"Ah, I see." His uncle’s eyes flickered over to the door. "Well, you have to make one soon. Genevive would want to go back and help her sister. I say use that opportunity to get what we all want."
His blood simmered. "What?"
Dominic stretched his lips into a small smile, something that did not reach his eyes. "I’m not asking for a child right away. We still have a lot of time for that. What I am asking for, it’s for both of you to be married before you leave for Melenmore."
As expected, his uncle was not going to leave the opportunity to make sure that they were moving into the right direction. Even if it meant using the situation towards the way he wanted.
it would be a lie to say that MR. was not like that. He was raised by his uncle Dominic and his aunt Chiara and they had raised him to be just like them; opportunistic.
Tristan could be selfish everywhere, but not when it came to Genevie. He always held himself back especially after she had seen him nearly shift into a beast. The fear in her eyes was enough of a reminder that he wants to stay in control, always at least until she had not changed into someone like him and could handle him.
"Stop that uncle." He chided gently, mindful of the respect that he had for his uncle. " I’m not going to use the situation to—"
"This is exactly what you must use the situation for." Dominic took a step closer to him. "This is the only situation where she will marry you willingly. When you help her sister to get out of the trouble that she is in, I am sure she would be in a good mood enough to give you a child in the process of which, you can turn her as well. This is what you call a win-win situation, and this will not come back again." His eyes flashed red but this time it did not scare Tristan. Not like the ones that when he was a child.
The way he made it sound was tempting enough for him to make the offer to Genevive. Having her as his wife was all he wanted.
"I think you should do it." Solomon added from his side. "Vaugh and others think so too. We need a queen, our beloved needs a queen. We cannot get better opportunities and this."
They won’t and Tristan knew that. He sighed before shaking his head. This was something he would think about later. At that moment, he had to console his Evive.
