The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 388: A little upset - II
"B-bleeding?" My hand went to the spot that now felt wet even over the shoulder. Pulling back, I stared at my bloody fingers.
"Oh, oh dear," wiping my fingers on my dress, I said to my sister who was horrified. ๐๐๐ฆโฏ๐ธ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ทโฏ๐.๐๐๐
"Why are you bleeding from there?!"
I was marked? Should I tell her that? She had no idea what any of it was, and I just could not throw another mystery at her before explaining the previous ones that happened.
"I.. well," I stood up and made her sit down before continuing, "I got cut when I was taking a bath. They scrubbed my body a little harshly than needed."
"Yet, you are still bleeding?"
"Yes. I did not anticipate the card to be disturbed. Why donโt you wait for a moment and I get it bandaged?"
Catherine took a step forward. " allow me to come with you. I will have a stern talking with the maidโ"
Oh dear God, no. The poor maid was going to take the brunt of what Tristan had done and not to mention my sister would also see what kind of wound I was actually carrying.
"Catherine," I placed my hands on her shoulders. " I would love to have you take care of me and tell the maid what she has done wrong, however, you are still we can I want you to get a little bit more healthy before you do something otherโ"
"Than eat or sleep?" She grumbled, making me smile.
"Yes, that." I kissed her forehead before facing another loud case on her trick. "I have been deprived of you for far too long, so I do not want you to do anything that stresses you. As soon as you look like Catherine I had left back at the Palace, you can do anything and everything you want."
Catherine wanted to protest, but then she glanced at the mark which was bleeding before she nodded and hurried me away. Irene was standing there, and she must have heard the conversation because her eyes were already looking at my neck.
"I apologise for this, your grace. I did not knowโ" she fell silent when I rested my hand to silence her without a word. My room was quite near, and Irene knew to call the healer so I did not have to say another word to get something done.
Merilyn was already inside.
"Oh, lord above." She hissed as she looked at the wound. "I did feel that this might happen. I was only hoping that it would not. Come."
Following her, I sat down where she told me to, and then she came over with some paste.
"We have to leave it open. otherwise, it might develop pus inside it."
I held my breath as she first came into the board again. As much as light merilyn wanted to be, I still felt the pain which made me grab the seat I was sitting on.
"This will hurt even more." She warned me before slowly putting the paste on the wound. It started with a cooling sensation before resulting in an entirely painful experience.
I closed my eyes and started praying to God. That only lasted me for a few minutes before I could not take it anymore. Just as my friend moved out of the way, I stood up and started walking around the room.
"Oh Genevive, it cannot be that bad." Merilyn gently said with a sympathetic expression on her face. "If you sit down and just fall asleepโ"
"Nobody falls asleep from the pain, the fall unconscious. If you have something that can make me fall asleep quickly, then hand it over."
She shook her head which had me continue what I was doing. "Sorry, I do not have anything for that. I can only give you the paste and that is it."
"Why?" I huffed and shuddered. "Why can you only give me the paste? I do not understand why I must go through all of this pain."
When I looked at my friend, she looked like she had an explanation, but was hesitating to give me one.
"Just say it."
"If you say so," She warned lightly. "Pain is something that everyone goes through as a symbol of love or devotion to the other. The pain also results in a deeper mark which means it never goes away. So, women usually go through it as something they do out of their love to honor the partner who has given them the mark and also to thank God to give them a mate like the one they have received. Itโs also a symbol of gratitude and acceptance that they have accepted the mark and or a grateful for it."
I had stopped working and just stared at my friend who was giving the explanation. "So I have to continue in pain?"
She appeared confused. "Well-no, I mean most of the people are aware of what they are doing and only some are not. Also, you are a human whereas some are already vampires, so it is easier for them. I think... You should be given something for the pain."
"But," I pointed my finger at her, "I know there is a but at the end."
She chuckled but it took me a second to realize that it was out of my business. When I realized that, it only took me another second to also realize why.
"You have to ask Tristan."
"Yes," she paused to choose her next word very carefully, "vampires are very possessive over their beloved ones they have found them. The King is a bit more given his position. So when it comes to you, we have to ask him or one might find them in front of him enduring his wrath."
Somebody needed to ask Tristan whether I was to be given medicine for my pain?
"Is it?" I muttered under my breath as I felt the pain increase in my shoulder. "then I guess itโs time I hold an audience with the King about this."
