Chapter 110: Ren’s Element: Chaos

"Run!"

Apollonia didn’t have to say it twice. Everyone dashed after her. Apollonia had a special attribute that allowed her to sense energy, so she could tell where it was dense or low. Soul energy was something she couldn’t sense on a whim, and they were dropped right inside a violet zone. The result would’ve been the same even if she could sense it.

As they run, they felt a sudden chill down their spines. It was even colder than the cold air they were feeling. Bahamut sensed it fast and informed them.

"Something is coming from behind... Fast!"

His statement caused everyone to increase their speed. Bahamut’s body screamed from the weight of the suppressors and he couldn’t help but curse under his breath. They always activated when he was in dire need for his abilities.

His senses suddenly screamed.

"Everyone, duck!" Bahamut exclaimed, causing everyone to go down while running. A severe chill spread over their heads as large energy slash passed above them. It traveled for a good distance before disappearing like it had never happened. Everyone’s backs were drenched in cold sweat.

They’d just escaped death... for some seconds. Because the moment they got up, Bahamut prompted them to jump to the right. Another slash passed by them, ripping the sand like paper and forming a huge gash that stretched for miles.

"What the-!"

They were facing pure horror, no doubt.

"How much more?!" Rakia exclaimed mid-jump. She had just dodged a sharp slash that nearly took off her head.

"Don’t tell me we are being attacked by ghosts!" Bahamut exclaimed with a horrified expression.

"Seems like it..." Sel responded calmly, right next to him, making him falter in his steps.

"Don’t scare me! Fuck!" Bahamut exclaimed with a pale face, turning angrily at Sel.

"I didn’t know you were scared of ghosts..."

"Beasts and ghosts are two different things!"

"Don’t shout. I can hear you clearly."

"Piss off!"

"We are almost there, but I don’t think whatever that is following us will allow us to escape!" Apollonia shouted from in front, and they knew she was right. They couldn’t see what was attacking them and it was making their situation difficult to maneuver.

"Wait-" Bahamut suddenly exclaimed as a dark aura spread from him. It seemed to ring softly in the air, making his eyes widen in surprise. "Death Intent!"

That’s when he saw it or them...

"Fuck! Run as fast as you can! We are almost surrounded!" He shouted with a horrified expression.

"What did you see?!" Ren asked on his shoulder.

"Something worse than the ghoul..."

"Ghosts?"

"I don’t think a creatures with black rotting skin, holding scythes are ghosts!"

"Fuck!"

Ren suddenly jumped hopped down from Bahamut’s shoulder. He quickly rushed to the front and transformed into a his five feet tall form. His marks pulsed with power, their glow almost blinding the group. The air in front of him ripped apart as space cracked.

"Follow Ren!" Bahamut noticed what he was doing instantly and shouted at the group. Everyone increased their speed with Bahamut falling behind because of the weights as space twisted visibly in front of them.

Bahamut cursed angrily as his speed reduced quicker than he was running. Looking back, he saw a long chain tied around his leg. It was being held by a frail looking creature with a weird smile. He was being dragged back!

"Fuck!" he exclaimed in pure horror as his aura burst outwards. It propelled him for about five meters before he felt the pull again, making his expression twist in a mix of frustration and horror. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Bahamut hurry up!" Sel’s voice entered his ears.

"I’m being pulled back!" Bahamut roared, causing everyone’s expression to turn horrified. Looking behind, they noticed that Bahamut was about ten meters away from them, shocking them.

"Pull him!" a sudden cute yet deep voice entered their ears, making them turn towards the five-foot-tall bunny.

"Wha-!" Apollonia exclaimed in shock.

"There’s no time. Pull him!" Ren roared as he stopped running. Sel’s finger flashed as a long chain appeared in his hands. He passed it on to Apollonia, who immediately took flight towards Bahamut, her wings flapping rapidly.

Bahamut seeing this, grunted as he forced himself forward. The sand seemed to roar along with him as he pushed with all his strength forward. Just then, Apollonia reached him and threw the end of the chain at him.

Bahamut caught it swiftly and held on to it tightly. Apollonia grabbed the other end tightly and pulled. Her wings flapped and propelled her as she dragged Bahamut across the sand. They had travelled for more than five meters when they felt a sudden pull.

"Use your element! They should be scared of light!" Bahamut exclaimed.

"It will hit you!" Apollonia shot back as she pulled with all her might. Whatever was playing the game of tug with her was definitely strong. Very strong.

"I heal fast! Besides, I will get split into two if you don’t do it. I will die!" Bahamut was almost on the verge of crying. He was doing his very best not to look at the creature behind him, but it was proving very difficult. Not when the creature was laughing like it got a cricket in its throat.

"Just do it dammit!" Tears were almost falling from his eyes now. Bahamut would rather face a hundred ghouls than face whatever those creatures were. They were abominations! No wonder they were here. No wonder only three people had survived this place in the history of the sect.

And for some reason, he felt like they were playing with them. It was a weird thinking but he was sure of it. Plus, this was a violet zone. They should have been dead by now, but those creatures were just chasing and playing tug with them.

He was taken out of his reverie by a sudden blinding light. It hit him, engulfing him in a hot sensation. He felt the tug on his leg loosen up and he made a quick dash towards the group. Apollonia seeing him dash, tugged on the chain and shot forward with speed. Ren’s marks glowed brightly the moment the reached the group.

"Chaotic Rip!" Ren exclaimed as space shattered in front of them like glass. Because they were moving, they entered the shattered space. It closed the moment everyone entered.

Before anyone could react, they found themselves at another part of the desert, beside a huge dune.

"What was that?" Rakia turned to look at the bunny who had reverted to his normal size. Bahamut picked him up as he’d become weak.

"Don’t try that shit again," he scolded Ren with a smile. Then he turned to Apollonia. "That is his element."

"Space?" Apollonia asked.

"No. Chaos... Whatever that is..."

"We are in the clear. This place is blue and there seems to be some plant life around." Sel’s words caused them to look at their tablets and he was right. Plus there were some cactuses and other dry plants around.

"It seems we will be finishing the mission sooner than expected," Bahamut commented.

"I just want to go back..." Ren muttered weakly.
