Chapter 60 -49: Jackal and Wolf_1

The Bloody Monster, oblivious to the watchful eyes around him, leisurely cleaned away the bloodstains.

His brazen arrogance irked everyone present, but as no one knew his true identity, none dared to act rashly.

Pang Jian’s gaze was fixed on the monster’s chest cavity, having not spotted the ghastly blood-colored phoenix before the creature dived into the lake.

“He’s Dong Tianze!”

Zhou Qingchen furrowed his brow and confidently asserted the man’s identity.

Su Yuntian and He Rong suddenly looked shocked, whipping their heads towards him, “Dong Tianze?!”

“Yes, there’s no mistake, he’s the Dong Family’s lethal weapon.”

Zhou Qingchen spoke coldly.

Luo Hongyan, who had been feeling uneasy, breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that the bloody stranger who emerged from the pit was Dong Qianfeng’s adoptive son.

No matter how formidable Dong Tianze was, he couldn’t possibly be the creator behind the trio of forbidden zones in the Solitude Mountain Range.

“This guy…”

Pang Jian’s brows tensed as he scrutinized the man in the lake, his expression growing increasingly grave.

The young man washing the thick blood off his body in Wulan Lake had clearly seen everyone on the mountain, yet he exhibited not the slightest hint of fear or intimidation. His blood-drenched eyes even began to reveal a sense of thrill.

That odd sense of excitement, Pang Jian had only seen it in a few of the most ferocious beasts in the Solitude Mountain Range.

The strongest among the beasts also had their eyes lit up with the thrill whenever they saw herds of prey.

The excitement gleaming in the eyes of the man in the lake was eerily similar to that of the cruelest beasts right before they preyed.

Pang Jian immediately became vigilant and asked, “Who is he?”

Han Duping said with a bitter smile, “A wolf cub with an insatiable lust for killing.”

“The man with the mask you killed at the Black Water Pool was named Dong Qianfeng, he’s Dong Tianze’s adoptive father,” Zhou Qingchen said with a dark expression and disgust, “He’s not a true member of the Dong Family. He was taken in by Dong Qianfeng when he was a child and given the name Dong Tianze.”

“The Dong Family never truly regarded him as one of their own, subjecting him to their most grueling trials.”

“His notoriety stems from successfully enduring every bloody trial the Dong Family put him through. Almost everyone who joined him in these trials, whether from the Dong Family or not, ended up dead by his hand.”

“This earned him the Dong Family’s recognition, and whenever conflict arose with other families, he was the one they sent to silently eliminate their enemies.”

“Even our Zhou Family lost many members to him, and the casualties in the other families must be even higher!”

Zhou Qingchen’s mood obviously deteriorated when speaking of the man in the lake, his anger threatening to erupt uncontrollably.

“He’s an enemy to all six major families, and not a true member of the Dong Family. He’s doomed to an ill fate sooner or later!” He Rong snorted.

“Yet such a man was actually favored by the Raging Sun Sect, who extended an olive branch to him. But because of Dong Qianfeng’s expulsion from the Raging Sun Sect, he actually refused their goodwill,” Han Duping chimed in.

Pausing, he then turned to glance at the pristine White Tower and added, “It seems he’s long been favored by the Yin Spirit Temple, otherwise he couldn’t have taken control of the Heavenly Spirit Tower!”

“Yin Spirit Temple!”

Everyone was startled and, upon further thought, agreed that Han Duping’s inference was likely the truth.

The Yin Spirit Temple from the Upper Realm was a sect with power to rival the Raging Sun Sect and even more mysterious origins. They maintained little to no dealings with the Star River Alliance, Blood Moon, or Red Mountain, nor did they recruit disciples from the seven great families.

Since Dong Tianze was affiliated with the Yin Spirit Temple and assured a route to the Upper Realm, he no longer needed to care about the Raging Sun Sect or the Dong Family.

“That’ll make things easier.”

Luo Hongyan, her mood brightened by the knowledge that the most fearsome Soul Array in the White Tower had been destroyed and that Dong Tianze was not the person she feared, took the lead in leaving the hill.

As she moved, Zhou Qingchen, who had recently made a breakthrough to the Marrow Cleansing Realm, immediately followed, saying, “I’ve clashed with Dong Tianze before; I’m not afraid of him.”

Seeing the two descend, Pang Jian also promptly followed, gazing curiously at Dong Tianze from a distance.

Dong Tianze, who had plunged underwater to wash the blood from his body, suddenly dived beneath the surface. When he reemerged, he held in his mouth a black gold dagger.

It seemed he had hidden the dagger somewhere beneath the island. The handle was wrapped in sharkskin covered in scale-like patterns; the black blade, shaped like a crescent moon, shimmered with a faint golden lustre.

Strangely, within the crescent-like blade, there were nine holes that whistled when the wind blew through them.

“That dagger is called Ghost Howling,” Zhou Qingchen said in a heavy tone.

Pang Jian nodded lightly.

“Splash!”

Bare-chested Dong Tianze, with a waist wrapped in the same sharkskin material as the dagger, finally returned to the edge of the pit.

His upper body was covered with densely packed wounds like earthworms; he evidently survived numerous bloody battles, enduring severe injuries but still tenaciously clinging to life.

Having washed off the blood, Dong Tianze seized the black gold dagger he had been holding in his mouth. His slender phoenix eyes radiated an arresting madness.

Approaching Shangguan Qin, he asked in a smoothly sinister voice that was surprisingly pleasant to the ear, “Auntie, these people gathered on the hillside, tampered with my Heavenly Spirit Tower in secret. You wouldn’t be unaware of that, would you?”

Shangguan Qin was terrified and trembled as she shook her head frantically, stammering, “I don’t know! I know nothing!”

Dong Tianze smiled faintly, yanked her raven hair and dragged her face, filled with terror, towards Pang Jian, Luo Hongyan, and Zhou Qingchen as they approached.

“Let me ask once more, when I was performing the Bone Severing Marrow Washing with the Mysterious Turtle Essence Blood, did you see them?”
