549 I hate you

"..." Ethan Lu darted his eyes from Morris Liu's stoic front to Churu's bubbly one. Blinking many times repeatedly, his face crumpled in dismay.

"Y-you mean y-you're Cha — no way!" Ethan Lu stuttered as the revelation was hard to believe.

Since he felt so restless leaving Churu with Morris Liu last night, Ethan Lu woke up and left home earlier. Upon his arrival, he was surprised to see staff opening the Morris Liu's door as it was locked.

But they saw no one else in this ward aside from Morris Liu. The reason they shrugged it as the lock was faulty and they should replace it today.

Fortunately, it was just a normal rounds of the doctor and not a serious emergency situation or else, Morris Liu would be put on a more critical situation — worse, he'll die because of the locked door.

After that slight situation, the medical professionals proceeded to do their rounds and left Morris Liu with Chris and Ethan's company. 𝗳𝘳𝒆𝘦𝑤𝐞𝚋𝗻𝚘𝘷𝘦𝙡.𝑐𝐨𝘮

But, after they left, Morris Liu asked Chris Yu to step outside as he wanted to talk with Ethan Lu. Despite that it displeased Chris Yu, he listened and let the two have a talk.

Which led Ethan Lu to what was going on at the moment.

"You still don't believe me?" Disgusted at Ethan Lu's stubbornness, Churu peered at him with extreme disdain. "Then how did I know all the things that only you can know?" She spat.

"But—"

"Do you want me to spill your precious secret about being "lexinumberonefan"?!" Before Ethan Lu could even rebut, Churu blurted out, snapping Ethan Lu's last straw of doubt.

No one knew about his dummy account aside from Ethan Lu himself. Although it has been awhile since he used that account, Ethan Lu would never forget it as it was the proof of his level of pettiness.

But he never recalled mentioning it to anyone... not unless there's someone watching him whom he couldn't see that time.

Upon the realization, Ethan Lu's eyes slowly widened in disbelief. His mouth hanged low as he peered at Churu with fear and shock.

"Now you know." Seeing his reaction, a smug smirk formed on the side of Churu's lips. "I don't know how I became like this but since you're my boss, you should find it out for me." Going back to the main problem, Churu sighed as she didn't like this unforeseen event.

The last time she turned into a human, or rather, she resided to a human body, everything went south. However, this time, although she mostly looked like her original form, Churu has her doubts.

Would this turn out to bring the worse outcome in everyone's lives? But thinking that she didn't break any rules and actually abided by the system's rules, it conflicted Churu.

"I'm still here," As the two went silent, Ethan Lu trying to rationalize things while Churu delving with her own thoughts, Morris Liu's low and cold voice broke the silence.

At first, it displeased Morris Liu that Ethan Lu has something to do with the woman who was, by the way, lying naked beside him. Still, knowing his friend for a long time, there must be a reason.

But now that the two were talking for nearly half an hour now, Morris Liu was just as lost as the two. Although Ethan Lu and Churu had their own different questions in mind, their confusion couldn't even compare by Morris Liu's cluelessness.

"Uh..." Snapping at the realization, Ethan Lu blinked his eyes again as he opened his mouth yet, words wouldn't come out from it.

What should he say? Where do he starts? He couldn't even understand why Churu had transformed into a human! He was unprepared, truly unprepared about all this!

"Apparently, this fallen angel slash demon, is now a human after being a cute tiny flying dumpling for a long time." Rolling her eyes, Churu turned to Morris Liu's confused yet still stern countenance and began spouting nonsense.

"The reason? I don't know. Because my initial job is to look after this guy and not you. However, somehow, me and you are now connected, which is a terrible thing because I hate you." In a matter-of-fact tone, Churu scoffed as she shook her head, unwilling to succumb to this whole circus Yael has started.

Morris Liu's blank gaze stared at her cute small face for a minute. Angel? Demon? Dumpling? Then now human? Morris Liu found her words silly, as he was a realistic person.

He shouldn't believe them but, suddenly, a memory from a year ago when he was intoxicated with alcohol, he somehow recalled talking to a white flying figure. The memory was vague but the feelings of having a warm companion, and someone he could talk to with those cold lonely nights. Something within him somehow wanted to believe her.

"You hate me? Why?" Thus, instead of asking questions like doubting her existence as an angel or a demon or a dumpling, Morris Liu asked a question that answer he wouldn't doubt.

"Yeah, now that I have a chance to spill everything to you — I will take the opportunity." Churu jerked her chin up as she finally had the chance to have a serious word with him. "You, Morris Liu, do you know my problem with you? Scumbag ass—"

"Oy!" Before Churu could continue whatever unsightly words that would come out from her mouth, Ethan Lu covered it with his palm as he awkwardly laughed.

Although he didn't know what she would say, just the first word sent shivers down his spine and guessed that the next words wouldn't be any better. "Brother Mo, I know you want answers now but I think I should take this little sister home first. I promise I will explain things to you. But for now, rest, okay?"
